Mordred And Jörmungandr

No more darkness, no more hate. She was now my Familiar, the Knight of Rebellion, Mordred Pendragon.

"So you've been chilling over here? Or did you have fun in my mind?" I asked, looking at the Knight.

"I had a field trip here! I played with your other pet and watched your battle against Fabian. Had you mentioned earlier that you'd got a giant sea serpent in your arsenal, I would've joined instantly!" squealed Mordred excitedly as the World Serpent appeared behind her.

I ain't going to lie when I said I nearly punched the poor World Serpent that popped out of nowhere. The Jörmungandr was in its happy meal size as it happily surrounded Mordred, prompting the Knight to rub its belly like some overgrown dog.

"I am very thankful for your actions. The spell had worked and soon, you can use my powers or summon me to your future battles. We need Vania's permission to do so," explained the World Serpent.

"Yea... I don't think that will be happening for a while. I need to take a break, you know? The Mission I have just completed was mentally and physically draining, and I need time to explore the world. So I want to settle things down before taking the step."

The Knight of Rebellion and Jörmungandr glanced at each other before looking and nodding at me.

"We hear you... The whole Mission was very taxing for everyone, and I wished that we had met in a better setting. And you were right about Fabian being a nutcase... I can't believe that I worked for him! What was I thinking?!"

"Anyways, great job defeating the ultimate baddie..." exclaimed Mordred, with a bright smile.

Yea... I looked away from Mordred's smile in shame. The World Serpent tried to see my expression, but I refused to meet its eyes.

"Hey! Why the long face? I was praising you, you know..." asked the Knight.

"Because it wasn't me who killed Fabian or the Qilin... It was mostly Duncan who did the job. I was merely a side character while the child unleashed his Original Spell on the enemies. So I feel quite useless..."

"Are you kidding me?! Since when are you useless?! You used your Original Spell against Fabian twice, having the same strength as my Clarent! You commanded your party members to fight for you, despite not needing to."

"The Slayer is smitten with you while the child looks up to you like an elder sister. The Time Mage and the Kitsune both respect you and braved fronts for you to make the Mission work. It's not about who got the final bite of the meal... It's about the people who you shared it with."

"The experience that you had while working with them. The team effort of everyone destroying this hell hole. And besides, I wouldn't have held back against the Slayer without you. I could've been rougher with the man, but I tried my best to control it."

"He's a human, while I could regenerate however many times I wanted. So it was only because of our promise that Bryan won," explained Mordred, trying to cheer me up.

"And because of a promise, we entered this battle as a party. Initially, this Mission was assigned to Bryan to handle by himself. But the day after the announcement, I appeared and met him before joining the Arks. He said he feared that something might go wrong during the fight."

"It was only a feeling but enough for Bryan to question his mortality and duties. So, after a friendly match, I gave my word to him to help out in the upcoming Mission, which was to investigate the Dollhouse of Briton. And soon, more things came our way, and here we are."

"All because of a promise... " I replied as the skies turned to evening purple.

"Sir Mordred is right. Without you showing mercy to me at my final point, I wouldn't have been given a chance to live on. Someone had controlled me and forced me to destroy the Five Domains until you came around and showed me the truth."

"You could have killed me, but you honored my request to be your Familiar, and I will be forever grateful for that. Furthermore, you were more than useful for the entire Mission... You were amazing, and I'm sure Valkyrie would be proud of you for that," explained the Jörmungandr.

"Thank you for your kind words. I hope we can work together for more quests and adventures in the future," I replied, smiling at the two.

As I stared at the skies with Mordred and the Jörmungandr in silence, Vania decided to chime in by installing an enormous holographic screen in the skies. The Knight was slightly unnerved but not too scared while the World Serpent remained still.
