Vincent Melloi

I ignored the Kitsune and hopped out of bed to run towards the Slayer. Bryan looked shocked that I was awake and trying to snatch the food from his arms but smiled before giving me some hot dogs. I quickly scuffed it down before blushing at my behavior. I'm never good at fasting. Or manners.

"Okay! It looks like someone hasn't seen food for a long time... Luckily, I brought extra for this morning's breakfast. And good to see that you have recovered without too many problems..." greeted Bryan as he walked over to the coffee table in the middle of the room.

The Slayer placed the food tray to reveal hotdogs, bacon, and scrambled eggs with three muffins. Tomoe joined us and sat down to eat.

"The muffins are blueberry-flavored, courtesy of Midori's garden at the back of the Old Chapel. And don't worry, we've checked that it isn't poisonous," explained Bryan, gesturing for us to eat.

I couldn't be bothered by anything else as I wolfed down the food in front of me. As silence blanketed the room, Tomoe had yet to touch his food while the Slayer raised a questionable eyebrow at him.

"What's wrong? I thought you would be happy about Lizzie finally waking up from her slumber... So why are you not celebrating?" asked Bryan, pointing at the Kitsune.

"I don't have to celebrate something so mundane... Besides, there's nothing wrong; I'm not hungry since that Fallen Angel came into the Old Chapel. He's been giving me a bad impression ever since I saw him... I don't like his Aura or anything about him," replied Tomoe.

I nearly choked on my food at Tomoe's words about the Fallen Angel being in the same building as us... I thought the guy had left! And as if it was right on cue, there was a knock on the door. I glanced at the door, and it just magically swung open.

The same man who saved my life from the blast after defeating the Qilin stood. And the one who aided us in stopping the emergence of the beast of Midsummer. He looked alright for a Fallen Angel. And I was right about him looking like a Chinese since he had those asian eyes.

Once you smile, your eyes become a straight line. So the man smiled as he walked into the room. And now that it wasn't dark, I could finally make out his outfit. The man wore a black leather coat with straps on his chest and matching black pants.

He also had black fingerless gloves and boots. The get-up reminded me of some character but I can't quite remember...

"The girl is awake? Oh, that's good... I feared she would have been sent to another place before I could even speak with her. How are you feeling?" asked the mystery Mage as he walked towards me.

With a mouthful of eggs and bacon, I could only muster up a nod without having my food spill over the place. The man laughed at my attempt to look normal as I swallowed my food.

"I'm feeling great after the sleep... And I want to thank you for helping us out, but I must ask you why," I questioned, looking at the man.

"Well, because I was bored. Where are my manners? We haven't even gotten the chance to introduce ourselves properly. My name's Vincent Melloi, a Mage who loves to barge into random battles because I need the loot to upgrade my weaponry and armor," greeted Vincent.

So this guy's genuinely someone outside of this world... His words remind me of someone well-versed in the world of gaming... And farming.

"My name is Elizabeth Einzfield, and I'm part of the Arks as a Mage. And judging by your talk, you don't strike me as from around here, right?" I asked, tilting my head to the side.

Vincent smiled as he sat down on the floor beside me, prompting Tomoe to snarl at him.

"There's no way you helped us out because you are bored, Vincent. Especially when you work for the Mafia Head..." commented Tomoe, glaring at the man.

"Oh? It looks like someone is hot on my trail... You are very right; I came along to help you all because Fabian Brookes was a wanted criminal in our record books," replied Vincent, shrugging his shoulders.

"The Mafia has a wanted criminal list? I didn't know that there's such a thing within a criminal organization..." asked the Kitsune.

"Well, we are criminals in the eyes of polite society, but we've got standards as well. And we draw a line between what's being done for justice or personal gain. Murdering to get a rank or to subdue opposing forces is fine with us. Harming the innocent is strictly prohibited."
