Plan To Fight Gorgon

"No! You don't! Because I'm not done yet! Russia had declared war on Ukraine, another disease was rampant in Europe, and major weather abnormalities destroyed dozens of buildings and homes. Drunken fights are everywhere as people are dying from poverty!"

"So no! The fact that you dared to question why I hate humans so much proves that you will never understand my pain! To say goodbye to my best friend... To carry the smallest casket that I'll ever hold! All because people can't get their heads together!" I yelled, slamming a foot into the ground.

As I did, Vincent rushed forwards and enveloped me in his arms. My mind was so overdriven with feelings that I squeezed Vincent's organs out while returning the hug.

"You are right... And I'm sorry for being so bold to assume your predicament in the previous world. However, I couldn't shake off the sight of you being surrounded with ruin when the last time I saw you was..." whispered Vincent as he gently stroked my hair.

"When I brought my baby brother to meet you."

"Yes, you looked so happy when he kept hugging you or tugging your shirt for more baby bites. I couldn't imagine that smile would turn into tears in a few years. Had I known such a thing would happen... I would've tried to survive that fall and push myself to get to safety."

"It wasn't your fault... You fell from the 13th story, so I don't expect you to come out of that fall alive. So don't feel bad about leaving me early; it would've only made you more upset to see the world turn into chaos," I replied, breaking away from the hug.

It was quite an awkward silence for the two of us as we continued along the path toward Insvield. I could not help but notice the woodlands devoid of animal life. There were sounds of crickets chirping and birds flapping, but I could never see any animal. Perhaps they were hiding?

Or an auditory illusion? That would be cool... As we walked, I was the first to break the eerie silence.

"So, why is the matter with Gorgon related to the Four Symbols if it's only to give the people in Pompeii a home? And where are you going to place them?" I asked, trying to wrap my head around this mess.

"I wasn't kidding when I needed the Beasts' weaponry. I know the Gorgon will be powerful, so I need all the boost I can get. Because right now, if I were to attack her first, I would be crushed instantly."

"As for the people, I've already chosen another island and stationed people to start building up the place."

"Without any signs of monsters threatening to take back the place?" I asked, raising my eyebrow.

"Yes, we've double-checked. Unless that thing is invisible, then it shouldn't be a problem."

"Don't be too confident if there are such things as Magecraft. And how are the weapons going to help you? Is there some combined spell to destroy her? How about using the Perseus way of doing things and using a mirror?" I questioned, getting more fed up with Vincent's explanation.

"It won't be that easy... Though I wish it were, the truth is often heavier than we wished it to be. Nevertheless, my System told me I needed to gather all Four Beasts' weapons to unlock the Gate of Four Symbols."

"It's an all-powerful attack that combines the Foundations of the World and Nature to aid in annihilating my foes. So I'm counting on that to help me win," answered Vincent, confident that his plan would work.

"Why would you need that? Can't you use your Mesopotamian Spells to quell the monster? Isn't invoking Ishtar one of your best Spells? Or hell, if we used both of our highest ranking Spells, we would stand a chance against that Gorgon."

"I've done the calculations with the Gorgon's stagnant Elemental Energy levels and my Elemental Energy output. It doesn't come close to helping me survive one burst, let alone defeat the monster. Our strength is still insufficient even if I combined forces with you."

"We can't be at the same level either, or the fight would be nulled, and our attack would be canceled, wasting our efforts. Thus, we have to gain more experience and spells before facing that demon," explained Vincent as we reached a large stone arch with iron gates.

This door seems pretty overbearing for a village... I thought we had walked towards the wrong area. I was in awe as I saw the pale yellow walls running across the village's border. This isn't a village anymore; it's close to a town! Vincent seemed fine as he spoke to the guards to let us in.
