"Have you ever wondered what it would feel like? Living a normal life?" Kat asked.
Simi sat at the edge of the pool, her legs in the cool water beneath her. She sighed.
"What do you mean by normal life? Our life is pretty normal." Simi asked.
Kat exhaled.
"I mean life without missions and rules. We've been in the academy all our lives. Ever since kindergarten." Kat said, swaying around in the water.
"What does it feel like to go to school like every other kid? To go for sleepovers? Have your first kiss….without having to do it on a mission with someone you absolutely despise?" Kat sighed.
"Why did you join the agency?" Simi asked.
"Cause my mum did when she was younger. I wanted to make her proud." Kat said.
Her eyes went down to the water, there was so much more to that story and she wasn't sure she was ready to share that with anyone.
