Ella opened her eyes for she had been unconscious. She saw Jake standing with Magog staring at her.
"Ella?"Jake wanted to make sure she was alright.
"Let me go!!!" Ella yelled.
"She still doesn't remember." Jake said to Magog.
Magog didn't know why she was still there.
"I'm supposed to be in hell now." She said
"We are friends and friends help each other."
"I'm sorry but not like this." She headed for the door but an invisible shield stopped her from leaving the house.
"What is this?" She asked. "Some kind of demon sealer?"
"It was set up by Ella."
"Great! So how do I get out?"
"You can't cause the deactivation spell is in my head." Ella said with a smile in her face.
" I know how to deactivate it." Jake said to Magog.
" Then tell me."
" Not until you help me with Ella." He answered. " Then I will let you go." Jake promised a little bit disappointed in Magog.
Magog the moved closer to Ella. "I will have to get into her head and wake her up from within."
"Don't you dare!" Ella yelled. Then she said to Jake. "Whoever you are, I beg of you do not allow this."
"Are there any side effects?" Jake asked Magog.
"None except for the fact that everything she knows, I will know and our minds will be connected."
Jake hesitated but he had to do something. " Do it." He gave Magog the go-ahead.
Magog placed her hands on Ella's head despite her protests.
Suddenly, everywhere around Magog changed. Ella and Max were not there. It was only her standing in a green field which was close to a house.
Magog knocked on the door but nobody answered.
A car drove into the compound and parked. A young girl probably Ella in her early teenage years stepped out of the car and a boy followed. They were holding hands.
" Are you sure you want to do this, Brian?" Ella asked the boy.
" Yes, your father needs to know of our relationship."
" I have a bad feeling about this."
" He's your dad. He won't hurt you, will he?"
The couple walked to where Magog stood and the couple went through her cause She was invincible to them.
"Interesting." Magog smiled as she followed the couple into the house.
Max felt weak and tired. He wondered what his captors did with Ella.
A lady appeared in the room startling Max.
"Who are you?" Max asked the Lady. "Who are you people?"
The lady didn't reply. She just walked to him and touched him. Then he found himself in an office with a chair on which a lady with white hair and blue eyes sat.
"Where am I?" Max asked looking round.
"Relax, Max. You are in the Guardians abode." The lady replied resting her back on the chair.
"Guardians? Who are you guys? What did you do to my friend?"
"Nothing big. Just gave her a little memory loss in order to keep your other hunter busy."
Max scoffed. "You shouldn't have bothered, Jake can't do much."
The lady smiled. "That's the problem with you humans, you underestimate each other. That kid is has a great purpose to fulfill and you all look down on him."
" Wait, how do you know all this? Have you been monitoring us?"
" We monitor everyone and everything." The lady replied. " We are the guardians, that's what we do."
" Monitor things?"
" We keep record of everything, secrets of both men and God."
" So you are saying that you keep all the secrets of the world? How is that possible?"
" Inhumanly possible but for a Guardian, nothing is impossible."
" You guys are not humans, are you?"
" We are not." She replied. " We are beings; half angel, half human- not a nephilim but a creative work of God. We are born like humans but we posses extraordinary thinking capabilities which makes us to be able to store the secrets of the universe without going mad. We know how everything works, the sun, moon and stars, heaven and earth."
" How come you were never mentioned?"
" We chose to stay in the shadows cause there are some deadly secrets we keep from men."
" Great, just like the U.S government."
" There are some secrets that would prove deadly to the human race if revealed, so we keep them safe." She stood up and walked to the window. " Enough of us, tell me about yourself."
" But you know everything so why should I say anything?"
" Our knowledge of you is limited. You are the first person since creation who we know little about." Then she turned back. " How were you able to read the board outside."
" The normal way."
" Only guardians can read that." She replied. " So tell me, who or what are you?"
" A hunter."
" We know that. It seems you were looking for us, why?"
" I came to inquire about Abigail Ratchford."
" She was part of us untill..."
" Untill what?"
" Untill she chose a hunter over her Divine assignment. Who is she to you?"
" She's my mother."
The lady countenance changed but she tried to hide it as she walked back to the window.
" Abigail was a dedicated guardian. Her only flaw was choosing those hunters over us."
Max could sense tension. " You don't agree with hunters, do you?"
" Hunters are bafoons. They don't think before they strike, they think monsters are those with sharp teeth, claw and extraordinary powers. They don't know that monstrosity began with the humans." She faced Max. " You are part hunter and part guardian."
" I thought you said the guardians were part angels."
" So you must have inherited something angelic from your mother." She said. " You are the first of your kind Max, an abomination."
" What?"
" You are an abomination and we don't spare abominations like you."
The same lady that brought Max there appeared.
" Take him away." She told the girl. " We will decide the befitting death for him."
The lady touched Max and he found himself back in the white room.
