Ella's father was seated on a chair in the sitting room watching Ella introduce her boyfriend to him
"Ella can I see you?" He asked as he led her to his room.
"I thought we discussed this." He said.
"Dad, I need to have a normal life."
"Need? There are creatures out there waiting to rip you apart."
"Why dad? Is it because I am the daughter of a hunter?"
"It's more than that Ella."
"You know what? I'm leaving."
"To where? Anywhere but here."
"Ella, don't do what you will later regret."
" I won't." She replied as she walked out of the room.
Brian was admiring the colt which was hanged on the wall in the living room when Ella walked out wearing a tight face .
"What happened, Ella?"
"Let's go."
"Where?"
"Anywhere?"
"Okay." He said as Ella dragged him by the hands outside.
Magog was at the door watching them when they passed through her. The story seemed interesting to Magog. She was about following Ella who had driven off with Brian. She stopped when she saw
the Ella she knew sitting on a chair watching everything.
Ella looked depressed and sad watching that event.
"Interesting, isn't it?" She asked Magog.
Magog was surprised that Ella spoke to her.
"You can see me?"
"Of course, I can." Ella replied. "But they can't see us." Then Ella got up. "What are you doing in my head, Magog?"
"I'm here to help."
Ella scoffed. "Help? Why would I need your help?"
Out of nowhere, an arrow flew past Ella and into the wall.
They both looked at who shot the arrow and was suprised to see another Ella.
"A day full of Ella's. Wonderful! Just exactly what I needed."
"Can we die in here?" Magog asked Ella.
"I don't know and I wouldn't like to know." Ella replied as she ran into the house and Magog followed.
They quickly closed the windows and bolted the doors.
"Who is that? And why does she look like me?"
"She's you, I suppose."
"Oh, really?"
"She's an evil you that does not want you to have your memories back?"
"Did I lose memories?"
"Long talk. Jake will explain when you get out."
Evil Ella entered the house through the walls therby startling Magog and her good counterpart.
" Hello." She waved at them.
" Who are you?" Ella asked her.
" I'm you." She replied. " A better version of you."
" And how sure are you?" Magog asked evil Ella.
Evil Ella looked at her and replied. " I wasn't talking to you."
Magog found herself crashing into the kitchen cabinet after which she passed out.
Evil Ella faced the good Ella. "I want supremacy. You have become weak."
"I am not weak."
"Tell me, are you what Dad trained you to be?"
"A Hunter, proudly."
"No, father trained you to be a hunting machine without pity or distraction. He trained you to always put hunting first before any other."
"That was the deception he lived in and that's why he died a lonely man."
"He died a lonely man with great achievements. Ella, you aren't living up to his expectations."
Ella saw a knife on the floor." I will never do that." She quickly picked the knife and threw it. At the same instance, evil Ella released her bow and an arrow flew into Ella's arm but Ella's knife flew into her throat.
Magog got up and walked to where Ella stood watching her counterpart bleed.
"I'm not living up to the expectations of my father and I never will. You know why? Cause I'm not a monster like him."
Jake was tired of standing, so he took a chair and sat down watching Magog and Ella in their trance state. Magog came back from the trance state first.
Jake swung into action as he lowered the demon caging spell for Magog to pass.
"See you soon, hunter." She said as she walked towards the door.
"Thank you- for everything." Jake yelled out to her.
She smiled and then turned to dark fog and disappeared with the wind.
That instant, Ella came back gasping for breath.
Jake held her. "It's okay, it's okay."
"What happened?" She asked him.
"Your memories were wiped and you tried to kill me."
"Where's Max?"
" He didn't come back."
" Oh, the guardians have him."
" The guardians?"
" Yeah, we found them."
Max was already getting himself ready for his death. He thought of all the things he had done and the other which he had wished to do. Among those wishes was to kiss a girl and he promised himself that if he got out of there alive, he would do that.
"Interesting." A voice came from behind. He turned and saw a young girl in her early teenage years with red hair and two huge wings at her back.
"Who are you?" He asked her.
"I'm Reiel, a guardian."
"Are you here to take me to my death?"
"No, I'm here for another reason."
"What might that be?"
"The council had decided to spare you cause killing you would upset the balance."
"What balance?"
"That I'm not permitted to tell." She replied. She gave him a piece of paper and a vial containing blood.
"What I'm I supposed to do with this?"
"You will know when you leave this place."
"I don't understand. How am I so special? I'm nobody."
"You are not." She replied. "The three of you are." She moved closer to Max. "You might think that what you guys are doing is of no importance but keep on doing it, carry on and there will be peace when you three are gone."
Max was about speaking but she snapped her finger and Max found himself outside the hunters home.
Ella was getting ready to go back and Jake was against it.
" You just recovered and you are going back?" Jake said. " Max might be dead already."
" Then I will bring his body back. Don't you understand? You both are my responsibility."
" I'm not anyone's responsibility." Max said as he stepped in.
The others were glad to see him and at the same time curious as to how he escaped.
He hugged Ella and then kissed her. "That wasn't bad, was it?" He asked himself.
"Why did you do that?" Ella asked him.
"Just forget."
Then Jake asked him how he escaped.
" I didn't, they let me go."
" Just like that?"
" No, with this." He dropped a piece of paper on the table.
" What's that?" Asked Ella.
" The recipe for opening the gates to Tartarus."
" What's that?"
" The blood of a vampire original, a guardian and the hair of the most sinful man." He took out the vial from his pocket. " I already have the blood of a guardian."
" How are we supposed to get the rest?" Jake asked.
"By doing our thing, hunt." Max replied.
"According to myths and legends, no one has ever opened the gates of Tartarus."
"We will succeed cause we don't play by the rules. So we will carry on and ensure –"
Ella patted Max's shoulders and he stopped talking. That there's peace when we are no more." She finished it for him.
