Chapter 4: Train Station (Rewrite)

Entering the classroom Harry and I headed straight for our seats.

Me noticing, and easily avoiding the foot one Eugene "Flash" Thompson, who looks like he did in the Amazing Spider-Man films, had stuck out to try and trip me and cause me to fall flat on my face.

"What?" Flash muttered. Getting a slightly dumb look on his face as I avoided his obviously pathetic attempt at bullying.

"Nice one Pete." Harry said to me as we reached our seats in the back.

Where our newest friend, who we made at the start of the school year due to our shared loved of science fiction, Ned Leeds, who looks exactly like his actor from the MCU, was already seated at his own desk.

"Peter did you seriously just one up Flash?" Ned asked.

While Harry and I sat down.

"Yep." I replied. "Since I've decided I've had enough of taking Flash's crap." I whispered.

Especially since I knew what he had the potential to become.

Agent Venom and Agent Anti-Venom coming to mind first, along with a few other things.

That's why I've decided to give good old Eugene a much needed reality check.

After that the rest is up to him.

Since I've got way more important things to worry about than guiding Flash's life.

Moving on.

Harry, Ned, and I made small-talk until the teacher walked in and this class began.

Me finding it just as boring as I assumed I would.

So instead of paying attention I decided to work on and complete my first two major projects I started over the weekend.

The first being the formula for my web fluid.

Since I don't have organic webbing like some incarnations of Spiderman or some other spider people across the Marvel multiverse.

The second being the formula for the product known as Medi-Gel from the Mass Effect game series.

Since it tragically doesn't exist in this reality.

But that's good for me in this case since that means I can pass off the idea as my own and use it to make money.

Now I just need to find someone with enough cash to bankroll my idea, make a deal with them, and then the green paper will be rolling in.

An idea that brings a smile to my face.

Just as I finished putting the last touches on both projects the bell rang, signaling the end of class.

Once it did my friends and I headed to the next, going through the motions until lunch came around.

Then after which Harry, Ned, and I went our separate ways.

Since the second half of my classes for the day are all advanced placement or AP classes.

All of them STEM, Science Technology Engineering and Math, related to boot.

Moving through the halls I arrived and entered the classroom where they taught AP Chemistry.

Seeing a familiar face when I did seated right at the front.

Gwen.

"Oh, hey." I said to her. Taking the empty seat on her left.

"Hey yourself." Gwen replied.

"So you take AP Chem as well huh?" I mused.

Only to receive a flat look from Gwen. "I take all the same AP courses you take Mr. Parker. You've just never noticed before." She revealed.

"Is that so." I mused. "Well forgive me then."

"I'll think about it." Gwen replied.

A soft smile on her face.

The two of us then continued chatting before the teacher came in and began class.

One that actually kept my attention a bit.

Same for the rest of my AP classes until the day ended.

Where once it did I said goodbye to Gwen, then headed to my locker and gathered up my things before leaving for the day.

Texting Harry and Ned I couldn't hang out using my phone, since I had something important to do today.

Which is not a lie.

Since I am going to do something important.

I'm going to see if my father's private lab exists like it did in the Amazing Spider-Man films.

So with that I hurried home and then went down to the basement. Where I began searching it until I found my father, Richard Parker, old bag.

Once I did I immediately took it up to my room and began searching it. Instantly finding the files from Oscorp like Peter did in the film.

I also found everything else, telling me the lab existed.

So with that I headed straight for Roosevelt Station.

Though not before turning off my phone and removing its SIM card.

Since this is a Marvel universe and if you're not paranoid your foolish.

Constant vigilance!

Arriving at the station I then repeated all of Peter actions from the film.

Until eventually I was face to face with my dad secret train car lab.

As the doors slid open I entered it.

I then headed over to the computer and booted it up.

After which a few lines of code appeared across the screen before a video file of my father started playing.

"Greetings, to whoever is viewing this. My name is Richard Parker. And whatever lies may be told about me I want to assure you this video contains the real truth of the matter at hand. Recently I have discovered elements within Oscorp are conspiring to sell my research to an outside party. I don't know who the party is, nor do I know what they intend to use my work for. But I can only assume it will be for nefarious purposes. Therefore I have made a choice. A choice to go into hiding. I have destroyed as much of the archived files stored at Oscorp as possible, though I was unable to destroy the spiders. Even so that is alright. For you see there is something no one but I knows. The DNA I encoded into the spiders was my own. So without me, without my bloodline, those who wish to use my work for nefarious purposes will not get very far. I understand some people may think of me as a coward, but I do not care. For as a scientist I have a responsibility to keep what I created out the hands of those that would use it to do harm. Of course I know this means I will have to leave my son Peter. And that I may never be able to see him again. As a father this is this is the hardest choice I've ever had to make. But to keep him safe, from those that are after me and my work, I will do what I must. I just wish I had more time.Though maybe with the help of SHIELD I can step back into the world one day, and explain my choices to everyone, but especially my son. I just hope when that day comes, he understands."

"Dad!"

A young me spoke.

He then came into the room and Richard stopped the recording.

The video then ended.

As it did I simply stared at the screen, overcome with emotions and crying.

I mean I saw the films, and the recording in it, but seeing Richard's video message in person is something else.

Also, what the fuck? My dad was involved with SHIELD.

That certainly wasn't in the film.

But at least I now have confirmation they exist here.

Which means the agency is likely infected with HYDRA.

Just fucking great.

Yet another thing to add to my growing list of worries.

But at least today hasn't been totally horrible.

Since I not only just confirmed my father was an honorable man, but I also got myself my own secret base/lab.

So yay for me.

Oh and I also just confirmed Oscorp is shady as I suspected.

Though that still doesn't tell me anything about Norman.

Since in the video my father said "elements" inside of Oscorp were trying to sell his work. He never named Norman specifically.

So it looks like I still need to gather more information on the man before I can make a decision regarding our relationship going forward.

Making a mental note to do that I then quickly began examing the lab in its entirety.

In doing so I found it was fully powered and consisted several times almost all scientists needed.

Test tubes, beakers, a microscope, a storage fridge for specimens, several chemicals, even an electronic miscope, etc...

I also found a picture of my dad and myself when I was younger on one of the desks.

Looking at it I couldn't help but smile.

I also resolved myself to discover the truth of what exactly happened to my parents.

For who knows.

Maybe Richard is out there and alive, just like in that one deleted scene from the Amazing Spider-Man films.

"Guess I'll find out." I muttered to myself.

I then prepared to head back home.

But only after securing the files from Oscorp I found in my father's bag in the lab.

Since there is no way I'm risking anyone but me getting their hands on those.

After doing this I returned home.

I then had another lovely dinner with Ben and May before heading up to my room and looking on the Internet for people that I could make a deal with in regards to my Medi-Gel.

Finding out the Fantastic Four, who have an official website, offered such deals through their organization known as the Future Foundation.

Seeing this I quickly submitted an application before getting ready for bed.

Finding myself happy with the end of the day.
