-Chapter Seven

"Here you go you guys, they're not stail so don't worry" Magnus says, while opening a container. "I haven't had these in a while" Jimmy mentions, before taking one.

"Are they mini cakes?" Rebecca asks before taking one. "Kinda of, it's our Swedish desert", the blonde answers. They were in their school cafeteria for lunch, Magnus usually skips lunch because dinner would be so huge, but he wanted to gave his friends the rest of his semlas. "So this is why you didn't answer our team call last night" Rebecca says, eating the sweet. "Oh yeah! You didn't answer, well you missed a really good mint important mission me and Yanet did" Jimmy mentions with a smirk.

"Aw, I called right after, but nobody picked up" Magnus defends. "Key word important" Rebecca butts in, "why couldn't you just join the game?" Jimmy asks, taking another treat.

"I did but my party was dispersed do to a mission I wasn't included in" the blonde says sarcastically. "Tough" The youngest replies with attitude, making Jimmy laugh with his mouth full. "Jimmy, did I tell you what happened this morning?" Magnus starts, getting the brown haired one's full attention. "Rebecca was reeeaally worried about you, she almost cried in the bus talking about how sad you seemed" "REALL-" "HeyShut it!" The girl quickly interrupted Jimmy with a look of panic before he could get a word out.

"It wasn't like that and you know it!" She continued. "You have a SOUL! I knew you were just playing tough, but don't worry, I'm coping through it" Jimmy bursted out enthusiastically. "Yup, she cares about us after all", Magnus says with pure evil attentions only, making Rebecca give him a death glare.

"So you've submitted your death wish huh, I'll get you back, go cuddle with your stepdad or something!" She says with her arm crossed. "Hey, he's conveniently good looking, that's all" Magnus defendes, with his arms also crossed.

"Speaking of step daddies, how is he?" Jimmy pointed out, switching the subject before things get too heated. Magnus seemed to visibly relax before uncrossing his arms. "Honestly, I don't think he's a bad guy, maybe I overreacted just a little" he says hesitantly. "His names Nolen Grey Miller, tall has dimples and nice hair" He continued while picking at his container.

"Holy broccoli, looks like your mom knows how to pick'm" Jimmy adds while wiggling his eyebrows, making Magnus roll his eyes.

"Please, I won't believe it till I see how he actually looks like", Rebecca mumbles, "yeah, get us a picture soon" Jimmy joins. "Fine, I'll try, but let's talk about that quest you were on, what was it about?" Magnus switches the subject, Jimmy and Rebecca turned to each other.

During lunch, the two had told Magnus how the important quest that he missed out on was a challenging façade. A thieve from their party's store aka there base needed to be caught, or they would have to move into another place. It turned out to be a hidden message from the mission, the game basically telling them, to go on a high-level task with their party, they needed to add a swordsman man to their group.

"What? But I thought the notification to add more people to the party went away?" Magnus asks confused, as he stuffs his lunch box in his locker.

"Who knows, maybe we can try adding one of the npc characters", Jimmy suggested.

"I gotta meet one of my teachers for a few questions, see you guys later" Yanet bids goodbye while looking at her phone. "See y'a" Magnus and Jimmy says in unison. "Don't you have a few of online gamer friends?", the taller of the two asks, "so do you! Besides, we're apparently playing version Alpha, but I could try asking I guess", Jimmy says.

The two ended up splitting up, Jimmy heading to the library and Magnus going to one of their school gyms.

"Basketball huh" the blonde reads out loud before walking in.

"WATCH OUT!"

A shout came from his left side, Magnus Swiftly moves away from the fast-coming object, managing to dodge a ball that was launched his way. He picks it up with slight irritation, he quite literally walked into that one. "Whoops, may you throw that ba-" someone coming his way started to say, Magnus turns to the voice. With a shocked expression he yells, "Dave! I came looking for you! I didn't expect you to actually be here", with a smile his face. "Dave do you know this guy?" One of the three guys around the one called 'Dave' asks.

Dave was a plump brunette with thin glasses, Average in height. "Yeah, I kinda know him… I think he came out as a homo last year or something like that" he says casually, Magnus raises an eyebrow. "Only 50% percent homosexual-" He responds plainly, "whatever, just give me the ball before more loser comes off of you and infect it," Dave says coldly.

"What are you a year 7th? You can have the ball back, I just need to talk to you for a second", Magnus responds, before passing the ball to one of the males next to Dave.

"Ew! Why would I wanna talk to-" "Woah, Dave, calm down a little people are staring, we'll continue playing, and you can come to join after you solve whatever beef you two have" a dark-haired lad interrupted Dave from his left.

Magnus smirks at this, Dave walks up to him and pulls him aside, "Magz, what are you doing here?! you're embarrasing me infront of my cool friends" Dave whisper yells.

"Ditching us to play with balls?.. and you call me the homo-" Magnus says with attitude, Dave couldn't help but let out a chuckle at this. "Pfft! Haha, I almost forgot how funny you were, but... we talked about this already, this year i'm going to make a name for myself, I'm no longer the creepy quiet kid in the back! don't make me hurt your feelings-" "whoa whoa, slow down. I was just kidding about the ditching thing, well kind of... look, I just need- I mean WE need your help, just one more time, we need our Davenstin killer with one more quest... than I'll leave you alone for good", Magnus says with a conflicted smile.

"Shards! why do you have to sound so cool right now! I'll text you if I agree to do it, but right now I'll have to think about it, the guys are waiting for me" Dave announces with a sigh. he then walks away toward the others.

Magnus arrived at the library looking for Jimmy. He saw his friend further down the library using one of its computers, but that's not the only thing he saw.

"What are you guys up to?" he asks with mild excitement, as he closed in on him. Jimmy was surrounded by four people already, all seeming to be very interested in what the brunette is doing on the computer. "-Wow, and you're saying all of this is just from a game version alpha?! You're lying" a red-headed scrawny looking guy commented near Jimmy.

"Nope, it's all true, I actually know the guy who made this" Jimmy smirks, turning to Magnus and giving him a wink. Magnus rolls his eyes playfully as the others gape in awe, he leaned closer to his friend, that was showing off his character design. Demonstrating some moves, the blacksmith with the most character knowledge of their squad pulls out a weapon. Rebecca and Magnus, we're a bit critical of the character selection and still are a bit, but so far, Jimmy's choice has proven to be the most helpful. "So who wants to join my party?" Jimmy asks.

"Is it available on mobile?"- "my mom says I'm not allowed to play violent games" "is it free? Is the real question y'all should be asking".

The crowd around the brunette filled with questions. "Okay okay, the answer is, no, keep that to yourself, and yes" he answers.

*Ding- Ding*

The bell rang and everybody froze, before gathering their things and dispersing.

The duo was walking in the full hallway with binders in their arms.

"So, did you find Dave?" Jimmy asks. "Yeah… he said he'll text me but I don't thing his 100% ready to do this", Magnus responds honestly.

"How geeky were you talking to him" Jimmy wonders? While he tried to dodge some binders. "Rotten broccoli level! I guess we'll have to see after school" Magnus replies.
