She wandered on the pavement of the town unaffected after a year and the streets were very busy today on this day, conceivably it was spring and no one wanted to walk, she did see a few umbrellas and didn't believe it would rain.

Mister Darcy put on his cigarette and drew in as much, once his eyes popped abandoning the stick puffing, he flung the fumes away patting his pockets for a stick of gum, he left those at home and couldn't imagine his luck today.

"Excuse me!"

Ronnie paused on the point of putting up with an autobus. She stopped at the man in a black derby, he sported long hair and a nose ring, he smiled and coughed from the jog.

"Pardon me, you...are perfect"

She stepped back at the crazy man

"Greendale, ever heard of it?"

She shook her head and he scratched his nose and sniffed.

"That figures uh...here's my card"

She read the first thing that caught her eye and flipped it.

"I'm Mister Darcy and you are...not talking, wonder, are you a minor?"

She shook her head and he laughed at his luck and hers.

The rain started but the sun came out and it looked like no buses were stopping for anyone.

She sat with her hands down at the lodge to wait out the rain, the card remained on the table while he stayed by the window and lit a match flicking it when he successfully lighted the cancer stick.

She snorted at the fumes still lasting,

"Just make sure you're the one getting paid, we've caused more legal battles than we'll ever count"

Ronnie walked home in the rain holding the card, what he was offering was suicidal, she did her homework and searched Greendale Empire and a load of results appeared. Her eyes searched for anything suspicious while she sipped her tea and turned back when Pam clumsily dropped her basket by the door.

"Finally dried this"

She nodded and kept clicking on the mouse, she snorted at the mixed reviews and they were open for more exemplars to work for them.

Why was he asking her to take the job?

Four days after, the file was sent to her and Pam read the binding through her reading glasses clicking and looking for any loopholes and pitfalls. She smiled at the brand, it was a sports brand, an unusual name.

"Oh yeah, this is original" She pointed.

Mister Darcy came overdressed sharply and he put out his hand over the print files and signed it with his name.

"You'll be starting first thing tomorrow, can I get your approval?"

"Certainly but Ronnie here's the whiz"

She nodded and he signed "Very good" and he gave a devious smile at himself that made the two of them exchange looks.

The place was not entirely picture perfect and it didn't thrive in the rain because there were buckets everywhere and the crew were trying to keep their equipment dry.

She looked at the roof without any ceiling and light bulbs hanging down, though she was still looking not to step on anyone or anything.

"Ronnie Herkley?" A lady called with her headset looking for her till she raised a palm. "You're needed at the back, hurry"

She didn't exactly know where the back was but anything that could be worse than the room full of buckets and an anxious crew would fit but no, it was immaculate and she dropped her bag in the locker when she was called upon.

"Madamoiselle Ryan?"

She didn't say a word at the lady with white hair, her accent was substantial enough, she scrutinized her and nodded.

"Je m'appelle Louisa," She said and unscrewed a bottle "Allons y" She jerked her hand and Ronnie had to change to their traditional black clothes and they combed her hair.

"You will only address me as Madame Louisa and you do not protest against my wishes, understand?" She pointed and poured water in her hand clapping it over her hair then brushed it to look wavier.

She only met Mister Darcy once in a while and he was her manager and they were training her to be able to handle mistakes on the walkway if not making them.

"Don't worry, you'll be wearing leather, nothing too patchy or bizarre"

Pam was there to support her but Louisa chased her out of the studio, she was persistent and they became buddies at some point, Ronnie didn't know how because Louisa Aggresste was brutal.

She had to sit by and take notes while the models walked sporting their clothes and shoes, the track was racy and their clothes flashed and Mister Darcy snorted.

"Bugger just dropped a wristwatch on the stage" He jogged to pick it up.

The company made watches too, timers, she took lessons and the funniest part of the training. Photoshooting, she turned red stepping on the studio, with the stool in the middle.

"What's wrong with your face?" Eduardo asked grimly over the camera "Are you a fridge, you're not a fridge are you?"

"Uh, great job" Mister Darcy pat his head

"My cat could sell those trainers better than she can"

"She's a rookie"

"Oh, I didn't have the best perception to know that, I'm a photographer, Chase, where do you pick these from?"

"From the pavement," He said happily and Eduardo took off his cap wide-eyed.
