Chapter 11: War with Egypt

"I call upon the greatest warriors among the humans, come and obey me, the Ruler of the Underworld, give me my victory, my servants!"

When Osiris finished his incantation, the earth trembled and suddenly, many hands appeared on the ground, and gradually, countless undead raised from the ground.

This was the authority that Osiris used to call upon the army of undeads and made them his servants. It was the same authority that Voban got when he killed Osiris.

After they were raised to the ground, the undeads immediately rushed at Arne.

"Undead? You're wrong to use that on me."

When Arne saw the army of undead raised from the ground, he couldn't help but sneer.

He immediately knew what authority to use and started to sing the incantation.

"Thou art the ruler of Niflheim, the goddess of the dead granted this one the power to rule over undead!"

After Arne finished his incantation, the undeads that were charging at Arne immediately stopped and turned into ashes.

This was the authority that he got from his bond between him and Hel, the Goddess of the Dead and the Ruler of Niflheim. This authority granted Arne the power to rule over the dead and turn them against his enemies. But, his enemy was a God of the Dead too so this authority could only make the undeads disappear.

"... So you have the power to control the dead too."

Osiris was a bit speechless when he saw the undeads he had called before have disappeared suddenly.

"Let's end this."

Arne didn't answer Osiris and immediately charged at him. Osiris immediately blocked the attack with his crook and flail and was bounced back a bit far away from the impact.

But, the crook and flail that blocked the «Bright Flame Sword» were turned to ash after they were hit by it.

"Damn it!"

Osiris couldn't help but curse when he saw that his weapons were burned to ashes. He was a bit helpless and didn't know how to fight Arne. After all, in terms of RPG, Osiris was a kind of necromancer or mage. He was powerful if the undeads he called before could be used. Without them, he has no attack power at all.

"Come to me, the Arrow of destruction, the slayer of the divine, Laevateinn!"

When Arne finished his incantation, a bow with a black handle and red string appeared with an arrow with a black shaft. This was the second form of «Laevateinn», a bow and an arrow. This bow form was influenced by the story where «Laevateinn» was the name of the mistletoe dart that Loki used to kill Baldur.

Arne put the arrow and pulled the string of the bow while aiming at Osiris.

Arne glanced coldly at Osiris before releasing the bowstring. The arrow flew towards Osiris who tried to fly away to dodge the arrow. But, the arrow was chasing after him and was flying faster and faster every second passed.

Not even three seconds passed, the arrow pierced Osiris' heart from behind.

"A-Aghhh! S-Save me, Great-Grandfat-!"

Osiris groaned in pain and shouted at Ra who was watching him but didn't move at all. Before he could finish his words, he had disappeared from the mortal world. After he was pierced with the arrow, his body gradually turned into black smoke and disappeared. Then, a ball of light appeared from his body and entered Arne's body.

Why didn't Ra help him? That's because he didn't dare and if he blocked the arrow, he would be weakened by it. After all, the arrow was coated with destruction and evil energy.

"Thou art really unexpected, God Slayer."

Ra immediately said coldly while frowning after he saw that Osiris disappeared.

"I have the best authority for you."

Arne sneered at Ra. He didn't care if Ra was the God King of Egyptian Mythology or not. But, he has the best counter for the Heretic Gods with sun authority.

"Humph!"

Ra snorted at Arne's words and immediately flew towards him with his sun spear in his hand.

"I am the devourer of the sun, I am the sun chaser!"

*Whoosh*

After Arne finished his words, the sun in the sky suddenly disappeared from the world. This was the authority that he got from Skoll the Chaser of Sun called «Sun Devourer». When this authority was activated, it would weaken the power of the Sun Gods or all the Heretic Gods with a sun authority because the sun in the sky would disappear from the battlefield. Actually, the sun didn't really disappear but it created a domain that blocked the sun inside. This domain can't be exited unless Arne allowed them and could be maintained with mana.

Ra who was charging at Arne immediately stopped when he saw the power of the sun inside his body and the sun spear in his hand had disappeared. He tried to use his authority to control the sun but the sun didn't appear at all.

"Thou art really powerful, God Slayer."

Ra frowned and glanced at Arne while Arne only smiled mockingly at him.

"This Great One is Ra! This one is the Trinity. This Great One is Atum, the ruler of Evening!"

When Ra finished his words, his body changed. You could say that he transformed into a man but his head was a normal human head.

The Sun God Ra was said to be composed of three different Gods that governed the sun. The first one was Khepri, the personification of the morning. The second was Ra, the personification of noon. The last was Atum, the personification of the evening.

Atum himself wasn't only powered by the sun, but also with stars. Because the sun itself was counted as a star in the galaxy. So, Ra was right to transform to Atum because even though there was no sun inside the domain, there were still stars there and Arne didn't have any authorities related to stars at all.

When Arne saw Ra change his form, he immediately aimed his bow and arrow at Ra. The arrow suddenly split into three.

*Whoosh* *Wooosh* *Fwooosh*

Ra who saw the Arrows coming at him didn't dare to underestimate it and used the power of stars to block the arrows.

*BOOOM!*

*BOOM!*

*BOOOMMM!*

When he used the power of the star to block the arrows, the arrows exploded after they touched him. When the smoke disappeared, there was Ra. He wasn't turned into black smoke but his body was badly injured by the explosion of destruction energy.

You could say that «Gungnir», «Laevateinn», and «Bright Flame Sword» were the three strongest of Arne's authorities because they could do damage that can't be healed at all.

"Damned God Slayer!!"

Ra was very angry right now. He thought that he could block Arne's attacks with the power of the stars. He immediately charged towards Arne in anger.

"I called upon the son of the Wolf of Ragnarok. The sun chaser and devourer, Skoll!"

"Awuuu!"

Arne sang the incantation and then, an orange wolf with a pair of blue eyes appeared on the battlefield. This was the authority that he also got from Skoll called «Skoll». This authority allowed him to call Skoll as his loyal Subordinate God to fight. Skoll himself is the devourer of the sun. Although Ra has transformed into Atum, he still was the personification of Solar God. That's why Skoll would be very useful to fight against him and all Sun Gods. He was different from the Heretic God Skoll because this Skoll was made out of his powers.

"Hah-hah-hah!"

Skoll glanced at Arne with excitement like a dog.

"Go attack him and I will give you meat later."

Arne nodded at Skoll and said while pointing at Ra.

"Auuu!"

Skoll's face turned serious when he heard Arne's words. He immediately rushed at Ra who was badly injured.

"Damn it!"

"I call upon the first rope to bind the divine, Leyding!"

When Ra was about to fight against Skoll, a bronze rope suddenly tied him.

"Useless!"

But, the bronze rope was too weak to bind him and he immediately was released from the rope.

"Grrr!"

"Arghhh!"

Skoll ran at his fastest that even a second delay was enough for him to bite Ra. When Ra was tied, although it was only one second, Skoll had already appeared beside Ra and bit him.

This bite wasn't that hurt. What made Ra hurt was the decrease of the sun power inside him.

"I call upon the second rope to bind the divine, Dromi!"

Arne immediately used the second rope and then, a silver rope was trying to bind Ra again. This time, Arne didn't wait anymore. Arne held the bow and arrow in his hand and aimed at Ra.

"Rain of Destruction, Laevateinn!"

Arne released the arrow and the arrow was multiplied in the air into fifty arrows and were flying towards Ra.

"GRRRR!"

At the same time, Skoll rushed at Ra again.

"RAAAHHHH! THIS GREAT ONE WON'T LOSE!!"

Ra was tied with the silver rope and tried to release it. He didn't give up at all even though he was attacked from three sides.

"AGHHH!"

When Ra was struggling, Skoll bit him again and disappeared immediately from there. The sun power inside him decreased again after the bite. After the second bite of Skoll and the destruction wounds from «Laevateinn», Ra was already very weakened. His strength, speed, stamina, and even durability were greatly decreased.

The fifty arrows shined and combined into one arrow and were flying at Ra at the speed of lightning.

The arrow pierced Ra's heart when he was released from the silver rope.

Ra roared in pain but he suddenly laughed. He knew that he had already lost and his time wasn't that long in the mortal world.

"Thou art really great, God Slayer. State your name to this Great One!"

Ra's body was gradually turned into black smoke but was delayed because he resisted it.

"Arne Vasilius. Remember that. I was the one who killed you."

Arne didn't care about Ra's words because he knew that those God Kings of every mythology were very arrogant and prideful.

"Hahaha! Let's meet and fight again, Arne! Next time, this Great One won't lose."

Ra laughed while disappearing from the mortal world and turned into a ball of light before entering his body.

"Ha… I am tired…"

Arne slumped his body to the ground because he was quite tired after fighting against four Heretic Gods. But, he can't rest yet. There were four Heretic Gods left.

"Are you okay?"

Aisha ran at Arne after she saw that Ra was killed. She couldn't help but admire him after seeing his battles.

"...Did I look okay?"

Arne was already tired and he was even more tired when he heard Aisha.

"I could heal you but we must wait for half a day for that…"

Aisha worriedly said to Arne. The authority that she got from Persephone, the Goddess of Spring allowed her to restore her target's health and even purify them. It also has other powers that allowed her to control ice and opened the gate to the underworld as she was the wife of Hades.

"Forget it… can you smile?"

Arne didn't want to hope too much at Aisha because she can't be relied on at all. But, he wanted to savor her beautiful smile because he couldn't do that before because of Osiris.

"E-Eh? Smile?"

"Yes. Your smile is beautiful and it was the only thing you could do for me…"

That was also the other reason. She can't help him at all and her conscience won't allow her to not help him. That's why he told her to show her smile otherwise she might do something troublesome by herself.

Aisha who was worried at Arne was confused why he asked her that. But, because she wanted to help him, she immediately smiled at him.

"Ah… so beautiful…"

Arne's soul was calmed when he saw her smile. This might also be because of her authority called «Charm or Curse» which made people have a high favorability towards her. But, it might become a curse because some might be too much influenced that they become her fanatics…

Aisha blushed when she heard Arne's words. She was the weakest among the Campione and she never got close to a male before except for Voban whom she considered as her onii-sama. You could say that she was very naive and the kind of girl that would believe in fake news even though everyone knew that news was fake.

She was born in Northern India and became a maid for a British Family that owned a diamond mine at seven years old. She was discriminated against because of her ethnicity and low birth. That's why she never attended any school and hasn't learned any knowledge at all. But, she became good friends with the gentleman's daughter. Then, the gentleman and his daughter died and their inheritance went to her and she used the money to travel to Greece. That's where she met and slain the Goddess of Spring, Persephone.

"You're really cute."

Arne couldn't help but say to the holy maiden when he saw her blushed. Somehow he wanted to tease her more.

『You're going to be a great lady killer.』

『What do you mean? I acted just like my normal self…』

Arne was confused when he heard Great Sage's words. He felt that what he said was normal. But, he didn't know that the authorities from Freya had started to influence his words although it didn't influence his personality at all.

"Stop it…"

Aisha immediately ran away from Arne after he teased her again. She didn't want to be teased anymore and she felt a bit weird.

When Arne saw Aisha run away, he shook his head. He didn't understand her at all. He wanted to understand more about girls for the preparation if he was going to find a girlfriend. He saw Aisha not as an older sister but more as a little sister because she can't be relied on at all. She actually was lonely and her acquaintance would be only the Second Campione and the First Campione.

Anyway, who didn't want a cute nun-like little sister? At least Arne wanted that…

"Well, let's start the final battle."

After resting and relaxing for a while, Arne stood up from the ground. He was ready to end this event. He wanted to relax inside the Healing Chamber again after the end of the battle…

The domain that blocked the sun disappeared and he was back to the normal mortal world. But, the land was greatly damaged because of their fight. Well, even a fight between a Campione and a Heretic God was already very destructive. This time, the fight was between two Campione against eight Heretic Gods. Scratch it… it was one vs eight in the end…
