The French course went by pretty slowly. When Jack glanced over to Eve he could actually see her writing along to keep notes.

Sure, he did those as well but it somewhat got rather boring. What now got his interest was the item that she was currently having plugged in her ear.

While she did hide it a little bit with her cat-themed hoodie, you could see it when you were close enough.

-Are you listening to music right now? I can see the earbuds- Jack would have normally asked but Ms. Bissette would clearly notice them talking.

So he did it the old-fashioned way by slipping little notes to her.

The moment he reached over and placed the first note in front of her startled Eve a little bit.

She even glanced over to him but could only see him smile lightly and still look to the front while supporting his chin with one of his arms.

Eve got intrigued and started reading the note. A small smirk surfaced on her face.

-Yes, that is my way to not get bored. Also isn't this a little bit childish?-

She returned the note back to him when she thought the timing was right.

-Childish? So mean! And here I was trying to ask you out. ;) So, what genre are you listening to?-

Eve seemed to look at the note a lot longer this time and even glanced at him again, which resulted in Jack noticing that and chuckling a little.

That in return got Ms. Bissette to look back. But right at that moment before she caught who it was, it went back to silence. She could only squint her eyes a little and try to continue her lesson.

Eve: -Very funny. Rock and you?-

Jack: -Really now? In your case, looks aren't so deceiving. Blues, Psychadelic, Alternative, Experimental?-

What he was writing about is that he already had a feeling she was listening to rock with her attire screaming it softly to the world.

Eve: -Definitely Hard Rock and Grunge. Maybe a little bit of Post-Rock. You seem to know your stuff.-

Jack: -I would cry if I would not know something about my own favorite genre. I am more into Grunge and Electric myself.-

Eve: -You are just saying this now, aren't you?-

Jack: -Why would I?-

Eve: -To impress me, maybe?-

Jack chuckled again and it nearly got noticed this time around. That got Eve to flush red on her cheeks and she hastily wrote another note.

Eve: -Hey, that's nothing to laugh at!-

Jack: -Sorry, I didn't mean it the wrong way. I'm just amused by what you are thinking about me. I'm not some casanova, you know.-

Eve: -Not smooth.-

Now it was Jack who looked over to her when he got her reply. What he saw was her rather pale skin now showing a small red hue on her cheeks.

Somehow he found her adorable at the moment. She was actually embarrassed to have gone to the wrong assumption. So much that she seemed to back peddle and not write to him anything anymore.

But thinking about it further, Jack also had to admit that it was also slightly his fault for making weird moves at her. Maybe she was not used to such blunt approaches or he could have made a blunder by being a little bit cold...?

He also had to take into consideration that he was not really that bad-looking. But that was a rather new experience, to say the least.

In general, he was not really good at guessing what women thought at all. Guess his own, as well as, the opposite's genders disinterest caught up to him somehow.

Analyzing his behavior in itself brought him a slight headache again because he basically was just doing the exact thing the others probably thought about him.

Considering what he had to listen to when he walked through the school and all that. There were probably rumors spreading already.

Thinking a little bit about this matter also brought a sudden idea to his head. It was a certain song that played in his head that he immediately started to write down.

After finishing it and folding the much larger paper, he sent it over to her after scribbling his personal message on it as well.

Jack: -That should be a lot better at impressing you. Take it as an apology ;)-

When it lay in front of her she started to read through the lyrics and soon widened her eyes. The blush she had from before suddenly came back and increased in coloration.

Now Jack could not stop laughing out louder.

"Alright, Jack. You seem to be preoccupied with something else. What exactly is so funny? Maybe you could indulge the classroom?" The words coming from Ms. Bissette suddenly let Eve fidget and quickly hide the note.

"I'm sorry, Ms. Bissette. Seems like I got caught, hehe. It's just that a friend suddenly sent me a funny clip. Should I show it?" Jack was already raising a hand with his phone in it that had a website open that showed some video playing about funny pets.

If you did uncalled things, then at least keep a way open to weasel yourself out. Lying is a very easy art, once you are trained in it. There was no real shame in it.

Especially when you already prepared this to happen at some point and could lie without flinching at all. Of course, his poker face was more of a smiling one than a serious expression and people were no fools.

Ms. Bissette sighed about his reason for chuckling all the time. She even wanted to reprimand him but suddenly the bell rang for her class to end. A lucky stroke for him.

"Nevermind, I hope this won't be repeating itself. Otherwise, I will confiscate ALL phones while you are in my class, understood?" This time even the others in the class grimaced at that threat.

Jack even got some real nasty glares from some classmates. Clearly, he was not the only one that was supposedly playing around on his phone.

Little did he know that some people already had a bad impression of him from the very start and now it decreased even further.

"Not going to happen again, teach.", Jack replied with a smile still on him. "Though you gotta see this."

He stood up, walked over to her desk, and showed her the vid. "Especially this part here." Then with a tap on the phone, he showed her a certain section of the video.

Suddenly even Ms. Bissette could not be moody anymore when she saw cute little pups walk around and clumsily trip and fall.

"Alright, just get going already." She smiled at him and seemed to have been appeased somewhat.

Don't underestimate the power of cute things.

"Thanks." Jack could only grin and swaggered back to his place to take his stuff.

Eve still remained seated and stared at him as if she saw something amazing.

"How did you? Anyway, what is this?" She asked now normally while showing the note she got earlier.

"Hmm? Well, it's a song I just came up with? Should deliver my apology pretty well, no?" Jack just replied nonchalantly. Well, coming up with it is maybe somewhat misleading. He only remembered it after thinking about the situation that he was in.

But what didn't exist yet, could very well be his own now. Though he would not see himself as an artist just yet by simply plagiarizing his old world's songs.

At least not now...Hey, he was no saint. Got to enjoy everything he could from this life.

By the way, the lyrics that he wrote on the paper were the song Cold from the band Crossfade.

"You got to be kidding. This...Wait, never mind that. You are actually a songwriter?" Eve asked now while being somewhat surprised to find out what this is.

"Huh? Not really, I'm aiming to be a singer. Well, if that doesn't work out I could also go with being a guitarist, though. Doing songwriting on the other hand is kinda tedious. So, take that as a special occasion. Are you impressed?" Jack looked at her now with a toothy grin.

Eve just squinted her eyes hearing him. "Okay, I give up. That one is actually smooth. Maybe going a little bit over the top, but smooth. You got me impressed." Then she smiled at him. "And...thanks."

"You're welcome. Now that I have impressed you, how about hanging out? Would love it, if we became friends."

"Friends? Oh right, friends, hehe." She mumbled something to herself for a short moment. "Well sure, what are you planning to do?"

Jack raised a brow to her reaction. Somehow he felt like she had gotten the wrong idea again. Well, he did know he was playing around too much.

She wouldn't be smitten by him that easily, right?

....

Now he felt confused thinking about that.

"We could just eat together for now and get to know each other more?" He suggested taking it easy for now and starting it slow.

"Sure, we can do that." Eve nodded at him and agreed. With that, both walked out of the classroom.

Behind them, a few girls clustered together in a circle. Obviously whatever they were talking about now was about the two.
