Things That Truly Affect Our Alpha

*Noel*

'Your mate is feisty, I like her already.', Kyle had mind-linked me, this made me stand up from my seat.

'You met her?!'. I place my hands by my table and focus on our conversation.

'Whoa, don't get so worked up Bro. You said to meet up with our new partner as a sign of courtesy and so I did.', He then paused for a moment. I was getting impatient when someone entered my room. I looked up and it was him, also flashing his grin. I stared at him as he strolled to the seat by my table then sat.

"She was in the room when we got there," He continued. "She doesn't like your conditions, man". Oh, she doesn't? I wonder why that is? No matter, I'll handle it later. In the meantime...

"How do you even know it is her?".

"Phoebe.". He proudly said our sister's name. Ugh, that girl.

"Figures." I then sat back at my office chair and massaged my forehead.

"I kind of dared her, too; presenting a counter-proposal, isn't that fun?". I raised a brow at him. Is he testing my mate?

"What are you-", I wasn't able to finish my sentence when Kyle suddenly emitted a powerful aura. He also stood up and had a serious face, and I know what that look meant. I also became alerted and sniffed through the air. There is no doubt, trespassers crossed our territory.

"Seven-no... That's eight rogue wolves," I stated, then through mind-link, I sent orders to nearby wolves to be alert because rogues had stepped on our grounds. "Should I order a kill-on-sight?" I asked Kyle who was on his way out.

Rogue wolves are considered threats no matter who they are. This is a golden rule, but not to Kyle, "No. It's daytime and these wolves seemed to be frightened. I can sense their fear.". Geez, you see, Kyle is unlike other alphas who like bloodshed. He actually doesn't like violence but that doesn't mean he is weak, Kyle is as powerful as any alpha would be. He believes in reasoning, that there's always a reason why an individual does something; be it right or wrong, wolf or not.

He paused for a minute and instructed me, "Tell our trackers to find and capture them. But be sure to have a Med in each team.". A Medic? But why? He then touched his fist by his nose, "I'm smelling wolf blood.". I nodded in response and sent out the order while we left in a hurry.

These rogues, they're becoming bolder these days, trespassing in broad daylight? Are they out of their minds? However, the smell of wolf blood changes everything. It means a young wolf is injured and is vulnerable. Other packs may find this as an advantage because young wolves are easy targets even more so if they're injured. Getting rid of them first was also a golden rule that Kyle broke. He doesn't believe in senseless killings, if he needs to kill, it is to protect our pack. Kyle may be a goofball but he always stands by the right plane when it comes to our pack's safety and stability.

As we got down, a car was already waiting and two people greeted us with a bow, one of them was Johnny. "Raven, report." Kyle asked the lady beside Johnny.

"Yes sir," She responded then straightened up, "The rogues came from the south side of our borders. Another group seemed to follow them but they didn't cross and retreated. I think the rogues were chased by some sort, they scattered like rats upon crossing. Trackers are collecting them as we speak.".

"And?" Kyle asked as we entered the car. I sat by the passenger seat and Johnny at the driver's seat while Kyle and Raven sat by the back seat.

"It is confirmed that some of them are injured, two are severe. We already found one of them but he didn't make it.". Kyle gritted his teeth, he obviously didn't like the news.

The woman named Raven is Kyle's general in his personal commanding group which doesn't take commands from anyone, even from me, only the alpha can order them around. But don't be fooled by her innocent looks or gender, she is an elite. She can take you down in seconds if she wants to.

We drove around the city, checking corners. And then I received a report from one of our trackers. "They found the other one, Kyle." I told him in the rear mirror. He just stared at me and slightly sighed.

"Let me see." He instructed. I then gave the location to Johnny and we drove there. When we arrived, one of our trackers was there to look out and greet us. The place was an abandoned building with metal fences around it. We got out of the car then went inside. There we found one of our Medics crouching down and examining the body. Once we got closer, I got a clearer view. It was the body of a young man, probably just past his maturity age, positioned upright with his hands by his stomach as if someone took care of him before leaving.

Our Med stood up and faced us, "Alpha, Beta," He greeted us, "He had deep wounds by his back which made him bleed out to death, so deep that it almost exposed his spinal cord. He was clawed brutally.". Clawed? A wolf did this? "I'm sorry, we were too late when we got here.".

"Did you place him like that?" Johnny asked him. The Med swung his head and answered, "No. We found him like that, with a  jacket covering him." He paused for a second then added, "We also found this snugged in his arms.

We became silent, we all glanced at Kyle. He was emitting a dangerous aura. There were only three things that truly affect our Alpha; our Mother, Olive, and, the last thing... children.

Our Med held a bloodied teddy bear…
