My footsteps are sluggish as I walk to Melanie's dorm room. Each step brings me closer to never being able to see Kiarr again. But he can't stay. I mean, he's a ghost and not even my boyfriend. I have Lance- a human -whom I adore. I don't need a phantom man in my life.


Things are way too complicated as it is with the Academy, Gwen and her goons, magic including all the supernatural crap. Plus, if he stays, someone might find out about him. They'll know I performed a spell and it freaking worked. Then I'll never get out of this school and back home.


My heart feels like it's going to explode in my chest. Will sending Kiarr back hurt him? I mean, yes, he's a ghost but what if it's painful?


Before I realize it, I pass up Melanie's door. I backtrack and tap on the wood. She'll help me figure out how to send Kiarr back. This is right up her major of necromancy and stuff.
