Chapter 71: I Can't Say Goodbye To You

Three weeks later I'm tearing my skirts and socks out of my drawers. "Where is my wand?"

Kiarr leans against the dresser, using my flying clothing as target practice for his sword. The blade slashes harmlessly through each item.

"Why are ye looking fer it?"

"I have a test today." I open another drawer and dig through bras and underwear. "Are you going to help me look or play with your sword?"

He laughs. "You didn't have a problem playing with my sword last night. Perhaps I can remind ye?"

A blush starts at my neck shoots up into my face. "No. I've got to pass this test, or I have to repeat the whole course." And as much as I embrace my magic and learning now, I hate having to repeat subjects. It is like re-reading an old book too many times and getting nothing out of it compared to the first time.

"Where's Ben?" I slam my drawer closed. "Maybe he's seen it."

Kiarr looks away. "Have ye searched the bathroom?"
