Chapter 15: Telling Ron

Harry, Ron, and Hermione walked down to the common room and through the portrait hole. It was a nice day so nobody was there except them. They all went over to the armchairs and sat down. Ron was silent, he had been the whole trip.

"I don't know where to start," Harry said quietly as he looked at Hermione.

"Start from the beginning," Hermione said as she gave him an encouraging look.

Harry jumped into explaining everything. Even the parts he hadn't told Hermione as he knew it would be harder for Ron to accept as it was Malfoy. Throughout the whole thing, Ron got paler and paler but he still listened patiently. Harry finished explaining and they all sat in awkward silence. Ron looked at Harry not knowing how to react.

"Before we get to the Malfoy part of the whole thing, are you ok?" Ron said this with a shake in his voice.

Harry just nodded, signifying that he should talk about Malfoy now. Ron reluctantly moved to the 2nd topic.

"It's…. Very different, and it might take some time to get used to but, I guess if what you told me is true and I believe it is then, Malfoy's not as bad as he seems," Ron said, still looking shaken but the color had started coming back to his face.

"How come, I can't go on one date with a girl, but you manage to get your enemy to fall in love with you," Ron said as he awkwardly chuckled. Harry snorted and blushed a bit happy that Ron was his usual self (although a bit frazzled). Ron nodded seeing that his intent was clear.

"I think I'm going to go to bed," Ron said this uncomfortably, Harry figured he just wanted to think, which was fine as it was a lot to take in.

Harry slumped into the armchair and sighed with his hands in his face.

"That was stressful, not to mention awkward," Harry said, head still in his hand.

Hermione murmured in agreement. Harry, who was tired and stressed out, slowly started falling asleep. But right before he drifted off something lightly landed on his shoulder. Harry took his head out of his hands still seeing a hazy black outline.

" 'Mione, what's on my shoulder?" Harry asked, still half asleep.

"Little paper swan," Hermione said, taking it off his shoulder and opening it.

"It says, dear Harry, how are you? I hope you're well anyway. I was wondering if we could meet in the classroom? If not, just say no!

Love Draco" At this Hermione smiled and looked at Harry about to die as they were adorable.

Harry no longer felt tired; he was wide awake and blushing. He went to a quill and paper and started writing his response back. He of course said yes.

"Bye Hermione, If Ron asks where I am, soften the blow a bit," Harry said this chuckling but there was still seriousness in his eye.

Hermione saluted towards Harry as he left. Harry chuckled as he walked to the classroom. It took a bit but he finally got there.

Malfoy was sitting not cross-legged but in a comfortable position telling Harry that he trusted him more. Draco saw Harry walk in and get up smiling happily. They went over to each other and hugged then sat down on the bench.

"What did you need?" Harry asked as the silence was going on too long.

Draco blushed a bit as he said "Nothing, I just missed you"

"You woke me up!" Harry said as he laid his head on Draco's shoulders

Harry smiled and looked into his lap. Draco grabbed his hand and smiled as well. They sat like that and it soon got dark out. Draco went to tell Harry that they should go but Harry was asleep on his shoulder. Draco just smiled and snuggled Harry and drifted into sleep.

Harry who had been having nightmares almost every night of course had to wake in a panic a couple of hours later. He woke up thrashing around trying to attack an invisible enemy while he said "Kill the spare!". At this point, Draco was awake and trying to wake Harry up. Harry opened his eyes and jumped onto the floor and struggled to get his wand out of his pocket. He then pointed it around wildly. Harry's breathing was fast and tears and sweat stung his eyes. He quickly wiped his tears from his face, trying not to let Draco see him crying. It was too late, however. Draco walked over to Harry looking apprehensive. Draco hugged him and planted a kiss on his forehead as he drug Harry back over to the bench. They sat back down and resumed the position they were in before. Draco played with Harry's hair and whispered "Don't worry your safe"

They fell asleep and Harry got the best rest he had in a while. When it was morning Harry got awoken by someone knocking very loudly on the classroom door. Someone was knocking on the classroom door! Harry woke Draco up and grabbed his wand from his pocket and pointed it at the door.

"I'm coming in!" Ron said outside the door. Harry realized it was Ron yelling and lowered his wand. Ron burst into a sleepy-looking Draco and a wide alert and awake Harry.

Ron was relieved to see Harry and a little unsure about Draco being there however he spoke normally.

"We were worried about you Harry, so I came to check where you were and make sure you were ok! You're lucky it's the weekend, otherwise, you would be feeling Mcgonagall's wrath right now for skipping her class!" Ron said this very fast and then went back to the door awkwardly.

"See you later Harry" Ron nodded his head "Malfoy" Malfoy nodded his head back and Ron left.
