We will surely meet again(CH-10)

The next day Davis Lane got up early and packed a few things for Kairo. He wanted to meet Kairo before he went away. When he reached Kairo's home, it was almost their time to leave. They already sent the luggage. The car was waiting for them.

"Davis, you have come. See, Kairo is sitting over there. Go and meet him." Kairo's father pointed towards the garden where Kairo was sitting alone on a bench.

Davis Lane reached near Kairo with slow footsteps. He sat down on the bench and kept his hand on his shoulder. Kairo looked at Davis. He must have been crying for a long time as his eyes were red.

"Kairo. I am sorry about yesterday. I should not have acted like this."Davis Lane said in a low voice.

"No Davis. It was not your fault. I....I know how you were feeling to hear all this suddenly. I.... I have to leave now. I... I don't know if we will ever meet again or not." Kairo, he said in a small, near-to-tears voice.

"Kairo, We will surely meet again. I Don't know where or when. But I know we will meet again someday. Our friendship is not that weak that we would lose each other like this. You have to be a successful person in this period and return here to meet me. Now stop crying. It does not suit you. Just keep smiling like you always do. Now get up and start your journey to a new life with a smile." Davis Lane said with a smile.

Although Davis's smile could not reach his eyes, he tried his best to keep himself calm. Kairo nodded and hugged Davis. Davis Lane hugged him back.

"Yes, Davis. You are right. Our friendship is not weak. We will keep ourselves in contact. You study hard and take care of your father. And thank you for coming here today. Otherwise, I would have felt guilty for leaving you like this." Kairo somehow managed to smile.

"How can I sit there, when my best friend is leaving? Look what I have brought for you."Davis Lane handed him a packet in gift wrap.

"What is this?"

"This is the series of books by your favorite writer, which I got as a prize two years back from school. Now, these are yours." Davis Lane said with a smile.

Kairo hurriedly opened the packet and smiled to see the books. These are the books that Kairo always wanted to get, but did not get in the market. Davis Lane got the whole series as a prize from the school committee along with the 'Best Student Award'.Kairo borrowed these from Davis Lane to read and returned. Davis Lane knew that Kairo was searching the series in the market to keep as his collection, but could not find it.

"Hey, Davis! Why are you giving these to me? You too liked these books. Didn't you tell me that you will always keep these books with you? Thank you, Davis, but I can not accept these. '' Kairo said with a smile and tried to return the packet to Davis. But Davis Lane did not accept.

"Kairo, please accept these as the memories of our friendship. I know you will always keep these books near you. By these, you will keep me in your mind forever. You will never be able to forget me. Whenever you will look at these, you will remember me. Isn't it a good idea ?" Davis Lane said with a bright smile. Kairo thought for some time and nodded.

"Yes. You are correct. I should keep this book near me so that I will feel your presence. Thank you very much for this gift. I am really happy now." Kairo said and hugged Davis.

"Kairo, it's time to go. Come inside and have a look around, if we have left anything behind." They both heard Kairo's mom's voice from the house.

"Ok, Davis. Now I have to go. Please take care."Kairo said in a tearful voice.

" Ok.Kairo.Happy journey. Please send me letters after reaching there."Davis Lane replied and left the place hurriedly.

He did not wait for more. He knew that would not be able to not see Kairo leaving. He left Kairo's house and roamed around aimlessly for some time and decided to go to the beach instead of school. He needs to calm down his mind and the beach is the best place for him now. He knew today he would not be able to study properly.

He spent almost three hours on the beach. At last, he got up to go to work. Although it was early to go there, as he was absent yesterday, he can do overtime.

In the Excel Care International School, it was a dreadful day for Lina Ran. She hoped to see Davis Lane in the first place in the morning. But as she saw the particular seat remain vacant for a long time, she started to be impatient. She looked towards the door with the hope of his arrival again and again, but he did not come. She did not know why but felt like crying. She had an uneasy feeling. But is it for Davis Lane?

'I know Davis Lane is not the real reason behind my uneasiness. Although I was boasting about my love for him in front of Dora, I don't think that I love him. How can I love someone in such a hurry? But...... but the boy..... I think I like him.' Lina Ran lost in deep thought.

Dora was observing her for a long time. She could see how eagerly Lina was looking at the door. Although she said nothing, she knew why Lina Ran was acting like this. She felt pity for this girl. She knew that Lina Ran was going through a hard time right now.

"I think I should take a leave today." Lina Ran murmured and started to pack her books.

"Lina Ran. Please try to control yourself. Don't try to jump to a river, when you know that the current of the river can be dangerous for you." Dora warned as she could see love was written all over her friend's face.
