"Dyke, did you deliberately tell me about Callum when I had already fallen for him?" Calliope had asked Laxamus Dyke when she was returning.

"I apologise for my insolence," Laxamus politely apologized. "I believed that it was better for Your Grace to know now than later. If you had fallen even a little more, it would have hurt a lot more. Your Grace, he is the most wrong man you can ever love. Not only would he be your ruination, but he would also destroy everyone close to you. I don't know what secrets you are hiding but all I can see is the man bringing a storm into your life."

Calliope sighed as she looked out of the car window with a sad smile, "Help me send something to Callum."

She knew that if she faced Callum now, she was going to break down. She was not brave. She was a coward. If she went to meet Callum to make her stance clear, she would never be able to look at his painful eyes.

"Did he know who I was all along?" Calliope asked.
