Chapter 7

So, eventually I gave up on the instant movement skill, temporarily of course. I'll get back to it later, but the house is currently more important. I just had to finish working on my home cause the suns were almost an inch away from sundown. Meaning I only had a few hours left in the day. It's stupid how many suns and moons are in this room, what's the point of having one in each corner of the world? I worded that wrong, but I think the point is still there. They then converge in the middle and nothing happens. It's as if they are rotating around the world instead of the world rotating around them. Eh, that would be stupid right? Then again, fantasy world.

It's funny how much of this world can be dumbed down to those two words. Got a hoard of magical beasts trying to slay you? Fantasy World. Offended some young master and you got a clan aiming for your head? Typical Fantasy World. Gained a major breakthrough and became king of the world and then your world suddenly gets invaded by other stronger worlds? Typical Fantasy world. Although I should probably change fantasy into xiaxia. Oh well. Just gotta keep grinding on.

Anyways I had to go down the hill and get some firewood and crafting materials. Namely more of that cotton stuff. I'm not going to get another harvest of that stuff till the winter season ends. So I might as well grab it now. Although the processing station I built was completely destroyed. I also got to collect some more wild rice seeds, since my rice was utterly destroyed. Got to do all this by hand, tools? Well, they melted in the tribulation. Which sucks. Well, I say melted, but in reality they just turned so brittle they broke on contact turning into bone dust. The running theory is that the Qi inside the bones keeping them strong was absorbed during the tribulation causing them to weaken.Which would explain why the bear skeleton was collapsing on itself as well. It's really frustrating having to start from scratch. Well, I guess it isn't technically scratch, since I've got the knowledge on how to rebuild. Still annoying though.

"Woof!"

Ah, Silver. "No treats today Silver, gotta rebuild." The massive wolf three times my size whines at me. Not sure when I bonded with the wolf. But at some point Silver just started following me around when I came down the mountain. The sad thing is that the pack Silver is in used to be extremely hostile to me. Till I took down the hunting pack they sent after me. Claimed the alpha for lunch. Let's just say, I hate eating doglike creatures. But I was starving and they practically sent themselves to be my lunch.

Silver then started following me. Watching as I started to collect things and trek them back up to my new house. If I remember correctly Silver was the new pack alpha, I wonder how they got so much free time to follow me.

— Silver POV.

The Grandmaster was back! The Grandmaster was stronger. Quieter than before, but that undercurrent of power was still there. Grandmaster used to be weak, but even weak they killed the previous Alpha. They were lucky the Grandmaster wasn't interested in killing them as well. Silver had seen the Grandmaster hunt down the overlords of the forest despite having no cultivation at all. He shrugged off the aura of those at Core Formation and Foundation Establishment and killed them! This used to be the Great Demon Mountain before the Grandmaster began to hunt. He may have looked slow and weak at first, but it couldn't be ignored at just how easily he could cut down opponents that should be godlike against him.

It didn't take long for all the intelligent beasts to bow down to the overlord of the mountain. They all acknowledged his terror as well. Once he started to hunt you, you couldn't escape, he would run after you, he'd just walk. Constantly. He hunted down the Golden Boar for nearly a month before killing the exhausted Foundation Establishment Boar. Everyone agreed that the terrifying thing about the Grandmaster wasn't his Speed or Power, it was the unending perseverance. The ability to follow the same target for days on end.

The Grandmasters' den was destroyed yesterday though, due to the heavenly punishment. They had all seen the Foundation Establishment Human fly away. Thus they thought the Grandmaster died as well. Even now they are planning to take over the mountain. But with the Grandmasters' survival everything will be fine. The power balance will be maintained. Hopefully, the den was a target of the other beings on the mountain, the only thing preventing their attack on the den was himself. Or more specifically his friendship with the Grandmaster. No one was willing to offend the Grandmaster from beyond. At least, none of them associated him with a human, despite the physical similarities. The aura given off by other humans and the Grandmaster were completely different to the point of two separate races. Thus they weren't as opposed to the Grandmaster being the ruler of the mountain and kept their auras in check. But if it were a normal human? They would have long banded together against them.

Normal humans hunted without regard. Constantly killing them for parts, not even to eat! At least the Grandmaster shows respect to its prey by not leaving any pieces left. Normal humans would just cut off pieces of them and then leave the corpse disrespectfully!

Huh, the Grandmasters' den has changed into stone. How did the Grandmaster shape his den? I wish to know!

This place feels like death though. Everything is now ashen compared to before. It doesn't match the Grandmasters aura. The Grandmasters aura was warm, vibrant, and encouraged growth. This land gave off desolation, misery. It didn't match. Plus the Grandmaster would pulse with sadness every time they glanced at the destruction. I couldn't blame him. I would be infuriated if my den was destroyed by outsiders as well. I would stay with the Grandmaster today, my warmth made him happier. Which would increase his goodwill to the pack. Don't worry Grandmaster, that human will pay for damaging your den soon. I will enter Foundation Establishment Realm soon. I only need a few more nights to circulate the Endless Moon technique to its fullest.
