His story

I didn't kill her, it's true. But I engineered a future for her worse than dreamless sleep.

- What did you do to him?

- I locked her up for days and nights in a huge abandoned building, alone and abandoned by everyone. Sometimes I gave her food, sometimes not. No matter how much she cried, or screamed, or submitted, I didn't bring her out of her realm of loneliness until the day I was finally satisfied, body and soul, with her pain.

Ariadne seemed to perceive the doughy darkness hovering in that soul she cherished in spite of everything.

- I would be willing to admit that this woman was totally wrong to have taken an innocent man to complete her revenge. But she was not wrong to have hurt you.
