"So 8 whole years have passed since I was forced to sleep due to reaching the maximum amount of souls I could store in me, hmm..."
Knowing how much time had passed, he examined his body in an effort to observe his growth from 2 meters to 3.25 meters. Where he afterward checked his grown strength as he called out his "Status" in mind.

"It seems like after spending the last 2 years hunting a total of 5.000 souls, my strength was boosted by a huge amount after going through my sleep in the last 8 years"
In the two years that Diablo spent hunting like a mad demon (literally), he developed a wild aura surrounding him that he named "Chaos Fear Aura" on a whim. As it affected any creature's mind that was weaker than him without him needing to spend any Abyssal Energy on it. Which the "Status" acknowledged as a passive skill/magic.

In that time he spent hunting for souls, he became accustomed to the way of a demon as well. The result was that he had become so used to killing that he didn't even feel disgusted when his entire body was covered in organs.
He also learned a new way of using his Abyssal Energy by developing his own fighting style that would put any martial master to shame as he was able to figure out how he was able to use his super-strong demon body at 100% efficiency in this way being capable of performing movements that can output the maximum power that his body is capable of, as well as overpowering close-combat combatants by using his intricate movements to exploit any weaknesses and vitals of the enemy by using his abyssal godly domain to sense them as well as countering/deflecting any of their incoming attacks.
So the moment he finished developing the style, his "Status" started showing it as a skill that he could keep on constantly since it only consumed 1 Abyssal Energy every 30 seconds.
If he didn't use any energy and let it passively cover him and if he were to use it then it would take 1 Abyssal Energy every 5 seconds which means he can easily keep it on as long as he wished.

Despite this, the only true way to consume his Abyssal Energy was when it blocked attacks for him, as it enhanced his defenses by covering his entire body with a thin layer of Abyssal Energy, giving him an even more threatening appearance that even demons would run from.
In addition to being able to use his style on instinct, he also had other benefits such as being able to unleash shockwave Abyssal Energy attacks for mid-long range enemies or, for evading or running, being able to run or evade at 2x faster speed, which also affected his flying speed.

Currently, it was his most versatile skill. Yes, he didn't consider it magic since he used the Abyssal Energy and his Body, combined with his absolute control over the Abyssal Energy, to move in intricate ways as his body performed movements that even functioned at point-blank range.
Taking advantage of the fact that it was the only skill he could passively maintain all the time, he planned on developing it the most, as it also affected his regeneration by making his blood travel at super-high-pressures through his veins that burst so often that they became the most durable they had ever been, enabling him to accelerate his already insane healing abilities.
His next project before going to sleep focused on his eyes, but he was unsuccessful, even after many tries. His eyes exploded, which resulted in his sense of pain becoming so low that, theoretically, they no longer exist. He guessed that he would only be able to experiment with eyes once he becomes a mid-level demon.
After he got his current situation right, he went straight out of his cave by lifting and putting back the Abyssal Black Tree in front of the entrance.
Where he then began to then fly and speed up with surprisingly no sonic booms at all even though he was flying 4x faster than he should be capable of.
Essentially, his Chaos Aura allows him to completely silence any sounds he creates, enabling him to fly without being noticed in the same way he suppressed his Chaos Demon Aura so that all demons and demonic creatures that are weaker than him are unaware of where he is.
Due to their ability to sense where the greatest danger comes from, they would roar in respect afterward as he displayed his strength, which included Adult Stage Demons, but not Peak Adult Stage Demons, though he could kill them quite easily now, so they would just end up annoying him by feeling challenged by his entry into their territory...
So as he flew along a river of lava in the middle of his thoughts he noticed a very strong attraction to his soul that was even farther away than his abyssal godly domain could sense or detect.
Therefore he changed his current flight path and went into the direction where his soul got the attraction from.
Once he flew in the direction of the thing that attracted his soul he noticed that he was getting more and more restless as he got near it. So as a precaution to whatever was there, he decided to stop the moment he could sense what he presumed a soul from the feeling he has gotten as he remembered the first time he saw a soul.
Therefore, upon sensing it inside his abyssal godly domain, he immediately stopped midair as he could feel that if he got any closer that he might become too attracted and directly rush in its direction.
As he examined the soul further to find out what was making him erratic, he discovered it was a mid-level soul!
From the sensation he got, he could tell that if he ate it he would directly reach the Peak-Adult stage. But the same went for infant-level demons as they would directly reach the Peak-Adult Stage since if he got things right, the mid-level soul would have approximately 1.000 Gaseous Abyssal Energy Base reserves or in other words 100 liquid Abyssal Energy.
Though they would only gain as much Gaseous Abyssal Energy as their body could contain, so most would range from 300-500 as the rest would be used for their bodies. This means that most demons wouldn't ever hope to get 1.000 Gaseous Abyssal Energy as their base reserve like Diablo since that was the amount he needed to reach the Peak-Adult Stage.
He was also able to see that the mid-level soul was above a dark hole that looked like the abyss to him as he was sure that it was bottomless as he couldn't even see where it ended.
Though as he was doing what he was doing he didn't have to wait long until hordes of abyssal demonic beasts as well as infant demons and adult-stage demons came rushing towards the mid-level soul in massive amounts.
Since he could count at least:
1 thousand Adult-Stage Demons
10 thousand Infant-stage Demons
And
100 thousand Abyssal Demonic Beats
And all he could say to this was
"What the fu..."
Before he was even able to finish his words he heard the demons roaring like crazy beasts as they began their full-out brawl where he could even see some adult stage demons teaming up with weaker or stronger demons on the same stage as them.
He could also hear that they were talking through the demon tongue... (Soul Language)
"So those bastards could already speak when they reached the Adult-Stage!?"
"Damn, each time I tried talking to them when I was still developing my Chaos Aura Style they didn't even speak a single word with me..."
"Oh, maybe I killed them too fast..."
*Facepalm*
"Well I guess I will just talk with one of them after this"
However, he could tell that everyone was in a crazed state pretty quickly. If not all of them, at least most of them were.
While watching the spectacle unfold in midair, he could see dozens of fireball attacks as well as some other iconic attacks like black wind blades, acid, poison, metallic rocks, and even ice! Demons did possess ice, but it was a rare element. This is especially true when they are still Lower Demons as their element gets chosen when they become Medium Stage Demons.

As he watched, he was able to clearly see how they ripped each other's heads off as others were being slashed into a thousand pieces as some Adult Stage Demons began to slaughter one after another as they devoured nearby souls through creating a "Soul Attraction Force" with their own souls, a technique which Diablo learned and used on several occasions before going to sleep.

Some demons on the verge of death, instead of dying, self-destructed, allowing their enemies to be devoured along with their souls.
There was nothing but chaos.
"If you look down at all this chaos from the sky, it seems so beautiful..."
After appreciating the view that resembled pure chaos, that strangely made him happy and satisfied with the situation. Which he blamed on his chaos bloodline for now, as he wasn't too sure if he truly liked what he saw, yet.
"Anyways, I guess I'll just have to wait and see what will happen once they get the mid-level soul because something doesn't feel quite right for it to appear out of the blue."
[1 day later...]
"Ugh.."
"I have yet to witness a battle that was as prolonged as this one, as it took at least 3 waves of demons before a winner could be declared"
"I really didn't expect it to take this long for them to fight it out."
When he was in the middle of his self-monologue he saw the winner, an Adult Stage Demon, who went ahead and grabbed the soul to devour it, but just before the demon could devour it, a red ring appeared on the bottomless ground. The pentagram symbol was intricate as the demon was right on the ring; yes, you could walk on the bottomless hole...
As the demon passed right through it and disappeared...

"So I waited for nothing or what...?"
"..."
"I'm honestly a little pissed, though I suppose I can wait until he shows up again?"
He, therefore, flew down to the surface of the ground and dug into it to create a temporary cave for himself, using his Chaos Abyssal Energy Claws all the time in order to speed up the building process, and it literally didn't consume more than 1 abyssal energy for the activation unless it got broken or was released by him through an Abyssal Energy Slash.

So that's how his wait for the reappearance of the demon began...

Author Note:
I plan to take Diablo to his first world in order to make Diablo a peak-adult stage!
The world won't be that big, however. In any case, he would have to return to advance into a Medium Stage Demon. Even so, I will surprise you at the end of the plot once he is finished with it.
