Chapter 005: Abyssal Demon Jungle

As Diablo woke up from his long slumber he couldn't help but exclaim in shock once his domain sense informed him of how long he had slept based on the aging process of the nearby environment.
"WHAT!!"
"I HAVE SLEPT FOR 1 WHOLE YEAR!!"
But he also noticed his strength has improved quite a bit after calling out to his "Status" in his mind.

Through his calculation, he now knew what he got after 1 month of aging.
1 month = 0.1 Points in Body Physique, Senses, and Abyssal Energy
Which made him happy as well as he was able to sense that he didn't seem to be too bothered by 1 whole year passing by in sleep after his initial shock as he was still a Human till yesterday before he died so it wasn't too surprising that he got shocked by how much time passed as Humans had very short lifespans in his home planet, Earth.
"So it seems that Demons have a long sleeping time though I can feel that if I was truly in danger or needed to wake up then I could have woken up at a moment's notice"
"Which is alright, I guess..."
After the information dump, he gained yesterday.
He was much more confident in his endeavors as he now had knowledge that could be used to compare himself to other demons.
On a general basis, he should be able to deal with at least demons of the Peak Adult Stage, which is a low-high-level demon.
Though he wasn't too sure about killing them yet as he hadn't faced any of them till now.
Therefore he made a general estimate as to how long it would take him if he would just let himself age into adulthood with the current comparison of 1 year that he had and it became pretty apparent that he didn't like how long it would be as he would need to wait for 100 years.
"Alright, it seems that waiting isn't an option so I will have to get stronger by devouring souls."
"Let the hunt begin..."
After he made the decision to hunt for souls he started to venture outside of his cave. After lifting up the Abyssal Black Tree that covered the entrance he went through it and put it back in front of the cave as he planned to keep it as his home.
Thus after leaving his cave he started running in the direction of an infant demon as it was the nearest to his location.
After reaching it he took an explosive dash that accelerated his already fast running speed to even higher heights as before the infant demon even noticed the danger properly, it died by his claws that went right through its head as it didn't have his body that could even survive without the most vital organs of a demon that were the heart, the brain or the soul as his soul was already immortal so only the other two organs could weaken him if damaged.
Though he had very high regenerative capabilities, so it wasn't much of a problem even if they got damaged.
So after killing the infant demon he picked up the soul with his tail. This is because he didn't use Abyssal Energy to kill it, so due to that reason, it wasn't directly brought to him.
After bringing it to his mouth to devour the soul he felt himself gaining strength once again as the energy from its soul started coursing through his body.

It felt really good to gain strength and be able to experience it so clearly as it was almost addictive. Or, maybe he was already addicted to the feeling.
Rather than contemplate this, he started looking for more prey. While taking a moment to appreciate the environment he called the Abyssal Demon Jungle, he noted that it looked exactly like that and was probably going to be his home for quite some time.

Although he did not search for strong demons because they wouldn't give him any more strength anyway since their souls were still at the same stage even if they became peak adult demons.
Thus, he found a new infant demon and this time flew forward while keeping as close as possible to the ground.
He may crash into an Abyssal Black Tree that way, but evading them made more fun because he learned new uses of his wings since his brain was now 100% used.
Which he intended to use to the fullest.
The constant evading of the trees allowed him to speed up to 4x his normal speed through quick successions of muscle contractions where his wing muscles were literally overstretched. These short bursts of power came at the price of injuries.
The first time he felt pain in his new body, it felt little more than a pinch since his pain receptors were incredibly low. Since his regeneration kicked in once injured, the injuries virtually healed in a matter of seconds.
Having evaded so many Abyssal Black Trees, he was losing interest as his slowed time perception made evading them so easy.
Then he decided to go bulldozing through an Abyssal Black Tree for a test and, surprisingly, his ultra-sharp body's wings and horns used their combined power to just pierce right through the trees like butter.
Abyssal Black Trees aren't just normal trees; rather, they are trees that would require more than just one human missile to destroy.
Once he found out that his body could be used in such a way, he simply proceeded to pierce through the incoming Abyssal Black Trees until he reached his destination.
However, by doing so, he caused a lot of noise, since all of the trees collapsed afterward. This attracted quite a few infant demons as well, who were also on the lookout for prey.
So as soon as Diablo noticed this, he used it as an opportunity to farm them like he did in those games.
The only difference would be that they wouldn't respawn nor would any new mobs appear because they fear you as their instincts make them perceive you as dangerous.
Then as he began gathering them through making a lot of noise, he started condensing his Chaos Abyssal Black Sun Magic in his mouth. When he opened his mouth to aim, he realized that his demon horns actually helped him in this regard, as they seemed to have the ability to target souls automatically like a homing missile.
So, since more demons gathered than he had expected, he condensed 2 more Chaos Abyssal Black Sun Magic, making it 3 in total.
Where he afterward made his horns mark three different targets for his 3 Chaos Abyssal Black Suns which were in the middle of the group of three demon infants.
Therefore, he shot the 3 Chaos Abyssal Black Suns before the demon infants began to notice one another, which would cause them to attack each other and kill all the nearby demonic creatures.

Yes, there are animals beside the demons. They are called Demonic Abyssal Beasts.
They were so pathetically weak compared to demons that either they were treated as snacks or ignored outright. Yet as the forest's most prominent residents, they cannot be considered weak at all. In any world they would be called calamities...
If your mind is sharp enough, you could already guess how they go to different worlds.

Three huge explosions followed after the three Chaos Abyssal Black Suns struck them. As a result, all started vaporizing.

Yet, Diablo noticed that souls were rushing towards him in large numbers. As the Abyssal Energy forced them down his throat.

'14,4 + 14 + 12 + 10 + 8 + 6 + 4 + 2 + 1 = 71.4

122,2 x 0.1 = 12.22 Body Physique/Senses'
After doing some quick math he noticed that the moment he crossed 100 consumed low-level-souls he started only gaining 0.1 Abyssal Energy.
Which was a bit disappointing but he called out his "Status" anyway.

As soon as he said his peace of mind, he started looking for demonic animals/beats instead of demons as he could kill them faster, and they gave him the same low-level soul as all the other demons.
They accounted for 70 out of 110 low-level souls he earned from his assault, so he decided to hunt them since they made up the majority.
However, once he reached the demonic abyssal beast he saw nearby.
What he saw was astounding!
As he watched the demonic abyssal beast transform into a demon right in front of him...

"I didn't expect the Demonic Abyssal Beasts to be able to transform into demons..."
"So as long as a being has the ability to access Abyssal Energy, they can become demons?"
A short time later, he killed the newly transformed demon after inspecting it closely.
The endless hunt began...
