CHAPTER 3: DATABASE HACKING

I put my laptop in front of me and sat on my bed. "Are you girls remember his famous name? I mean, our target."

"Mr. Lion," Manda mentioned.

"I'm trying to hack the data from the concert reservation," I explained quietly. I was checking through my laptop, trying out codes that I'd been studying for the last semester.

"I can't wait more," Freya exclaimed with her shining eyes. "If we succeed in this mission, our points will go up fast. Our names will be announced at graduation."

"I'm sorry I'm not good at coding, Suri," Manda apologized when she was sitting next to me.

"It's okay, Manda. I'm certain enough Suri can not read lips either. Isn't it true, Suri?" Freya cheered while looking at my laptop screen. "I love all language lessons, except programming languange."

"No problem. It's my favorite subject," I admitted to them as I still focused on my laptop. Manda took a drink and gave it to me, while Freya ripped up the packet of potato chips and feed me. I was a little bit amused by their acts. "Girls, take it easy, okay? I have a lot of flaws, which is why I need you. Perhaps Mr. Ferdy has also read our own track record on the scoreboard, so he put the three of us on a team on this secret mission."

"I can't just standing here, watching you were busy typing something important on your keyboard," Manda sighed. "If you need anything, just say it, Suri."

"Haha, okay." I nodded. Two minutes later, I tried accessing the concert organizer's website. "Mmm, interesting. The concert organizer turned out to be using a third party as her ticketing provider. I knew it wouldn't be easy."

"What's the provider name?" asked Freya.

"Ticketzone," I replied. "According from the track record, they have years of experience in the system."

"How did you get into their database?" Manda was curious.

"I can learn some parts of it, but we don't have much time," I explained. Suddenly a good idea came across my mind. "I will immediately go to the hacker forum to find anyone that had ever hacked the ticket database provider of that concert."

I got too many chat rooms while checking every crowded forums, and I finally found what I was looking for.

"There was an interesting thread. Username xzx32 says the provider's database system can be accessed publicly even though it is protected by username and password. Isn'it interesting? Turns out the provider used the AWS as their code provider. Hmm... interesting. Maybe they forgot to set the database on private mode. Too many systems deals with such mistakes," I explained excitedly. "One of the hackers on the forum had cracked the data a year ago. And he sells the data."

"Don't buy it. It is irrelevant, Suri," Freya seemed impatient.

"But I can buy the data just in case of sudden use." I said. "Who knows."

"Okay, let me do the transfer," Manda offered, then she took out her cell phone and looked for a mobile banking application.

"He only accepts payments in bitcoin. Just look at my screenshot, it's worth fifty thousand dollars," I added. "I'll try to contact him through Telegram."

"Too expensive. And, what will you do with that expired data?" Freya hesitated, still chewing potato chips in her mouth.

I squeezed my fingers and smiled. "What if I could crack this ticket system with that irrelevant data?"

Manda tried to calm us down. "I've paid that, please tell the hacker, Suri."

Good. The user on this forum was giving a quick respond. Business went well, he got the money, and we got the data. "Okay, seems easy. I'm gonna check it out," I said while checking the old data. I finally got some information. I was quite surprised to see the concerts's participants last year were around fifty thousand!

"Wow, Suri," Freya glared at my laptop screen. "That's a lot of money. Finding an international criminal at such a concert is like looking for a needle in a haystack."

"You're right." I nodded. "But it used to be a necessity at such a concert."

"I suspect Mr. Lion will see his customer there. Maybe more than one," Manda commented.

Then, after too much that I have done on my laptop, I shouted, "As I thought before, the username is valid, but the password is already encrypted. I'm wondering if I could crack this locked password. It's a very secure system." Then, I instantly type another codes. "All right, I'll try to run a simple script for running this brute force. Just need five minutes to do the script."

"So what's next, Suri?" Freya seemed confused.

"This will take a while," I replied. "You two please take care of everything for the big day, including disguises and reservations."

Two hours passed, I finally made it to the database. I ran a few simple SQL commands to retrieve important data. Actually, I didn't need all the data. I just needed that special one, the concert's participants.

"Girls, there's something interesting here," I shouted it while snapping my fingers. "There are five people here from abroad. I can see it from their unique series of identity numbers from other audiences."

"Tag him, Suri," Manda whispered in a fiery voice.

"Three women and two men," I said it while analyzing. "My intuition leans toward these two men."

"I thought so. Besides, our abilities are limited, and unable to spy too many targets," Freya agreed.

"I can not wait to get there." I smiled. Gotcha, Mr. Lion!
