The young woman sighed. This man seemed to enjoy playing games. "So I can learn less?" she retorted.
Ajani shook his head disapprovingly. "No, you may find my lessons useful."
"And what makes you think you'll teach me?"
"You're the new maid. Aren't you supposed to understand basic knowledge about the castle, our kingdom and its people?"
Nyra rolled her eyes. "I already know a lot about both of those areas."
"Then you must know that a good education is essential to a successful career." Ajani pointed out, his eyebrows furrowed as if she'd just insulted him.
Nyra glared at him.
"Besides," Ajani continued casually. "I'm sure you won't be here for long enough for me to be able to give you anything you need." He smirked at her.
Nyra snarled.
This man was definitely annoying her.
She wished she could hit him.
But that would only make matters worse. After all, she was already stuck here, no chance of running away now that he had locked the door.
