Chapter 96: it works surprisingly well

Kuroka was in panic.

Nay, to say that she was in panic was putting it lightly. She was outright hysteric.

The view of life granted by Senjutsu showed her horrors that wracked her mind as she had dared to look at the stuff of nightmares that had risen out of the sea, and the only thing that kept her somewhat sane still was the fact she had been hardened against mental torture by the Overlord General. If she hadn't trained with the Overlord General by being forcibly exposed into horrors that would shatter regular minds, she'd be on the street crying or clawing her eyes out in desperation and fear.

So Kuroka only sobbed and mewled in fear while dragging Koneko's unconscious body on her shoulders, desperate to escape Kuoh.

She had attempted to teleport away, but some unknown effect had blocked her teleportation.

The fact her escape had been seen through by forces unknown had thoroughly freaked out Kuroka, and she had decided to not tempt fate by attempting to teleport away again, in case the attempt was tracked back to her. Instead, she transformed back to her human-form, lugged Koneko to her shoulders, and ran off in the direction of Kuoh.

She hadn't made it far before Cthulhu had extinguished the Sun and forced Kuroka to halt her escape, and she hadn't dared to venture out of the partially collapsed home she had broken into for cover.

Kuroka coughed blood as she placed a bloody and unconscious Koneko into a bed, and departed to search the house for something to use as a bandage as she had received quite a few wounds when making her way through the battling Norse and the Dark Young, although she had managed to keep herself from getting flattened by the horrors.

Kuroka had not managed to protect Koneko from all harm, however, as one of the Dark Young had managed to tie it's tentacle around Koneko's arm and had crushed it into mangled piece of flesh like how someone might crush a dry twig- But Kuroka had managed to snatch Koneko before she'd be consumed, and had fled with her young sister on her shoulders.

Her tails stung, however, as the Supreme Being himself had stepped on her tail and violated her instantly afterwards, and the memory caused Kuroka to shiver in fear.

The realization that her escape from the Overlord General had been for naught had frightened Kuroka to the core. Moreover, she could tell that the young man-looking 'cover' the Being had was just a shell, since there was no way someone that soft-spoken and 'seemingly' kind could be the master of a cruel, merciless monster like the Overlord General.

However, the skeletal monster had been utterly subservient to the man, which cued Kuroka to the likely fact that the man was merely pretending to be gentle on the outside, and was even greater, more cruel and more horrifying monster on the inside-

And instead of using his horrifying power to slay his enemies, he was even more horrifying by the fact that he was clearly patient, cunning, and intelligent enough to shroud himself in the air of kindness and support, something that was nearly impossible to fight since no-one would know who the real enemy was until it was too late. A terrifying, vile and hostile spider taking the shape of a gentle and kind grandfather, weaving it's nets around his soon-to-be victims, who pulled themselves into the nets willingly as they mistook them for warm blankets.

In short, Kuroka was utterly scared of the man. Not only because of what he was, and pretended to be… But also because she had fled him as well as the Overlord General, which likely hadn't been appreciated by either of the horrors and had placed her into their crosshairs.

When Kuroka had spotted Koneko falling to the ground at speed which would likely kill her, and if the impact didn't kill her then she was surrounded by hostile Norse and very hostile Dark Young, Kuroka had sprung into action.

She had snatched Koneko, and had fled in fear… And in doing so, she had fled from the Supreme Being.

Kuroka could only hope that she was insignificant enough that he wouldn't follow her, that she'd escape his notice, but in her heart she knew that she was a marked woman, a dead cat walking.

After all, she had seen him, she knew who He was, and could blow the cover He had decided to don… And so, she was a liability as long as she wasn't utterly subservient to him.

Kuroka hurried to bandage some of her more serious wounds as she raided a mostly-emptied medicine cabinet of a family who had evacuated the home, and found a set of old bandages. However, it wouldn't be enough to bandage all her wounds, and more importantly, Koneko's arm had been crushed to a bloody mess by one of the Dark Young.

'Hurry, I have to hurry…' Kuroka quickly undid the front of her ruined and stained kimono and hopped into the bed to undo Koneko's blouse.

She pressed her chest against Koneko's, and began rubbing herself on the girl with slow, deliberate motions as she flared her Senjutsu to begin the ritual known as Bouchujutsu, or 'bedroom method' of healing.

Kuroka drew mental power from the fact that her little sister was safe, ish, and she was with her once more… And focused on the happy feeling in order to push the fear, terror, and horror aside so it wouldn't infect the flow of Senjutsu- After all, the ability worked like water, in that it could be easily stained by emotions and foreign elements and that altered state could either bless or curse the effect of the ability.

Kuroka did not want to make Koneko's condition worse by accident.

The older sister rubbed her considerable bust against Koneko's bare and flat chest, and reached to lick the unconscious girl's cheek like a cat that tried to groom her friend.

"Lick… lick…" Kuroka hugged Koneko harder, drawing mental strength from the little sister's presence as her Senjutsu pushed power into Koneko to heal her. "Please be safe, Koneko… I love you, my dear little sister…"

A relieved, hopeful breath escaped Kuroka's mouth as Koneko seemed to stir just slightly, and Kuroka reached to kiss Koneko on the lips, using the touch to drive even more of Senjutsu's healing energies into the girl's body…

Only, the body below Kuroka was suddenly much larger and sturdier.

Kuroka opened her eyes to look at the uncaring, cold and emotionless eyes of the Supreme Being who had appeared in Koneko's place.

The Supreme Being's eyes lurched to stare right into Kurokas, like the eyes of an abyss turning to look into a fragile and weak creature that had drawn it's attention.

Kuroka screamed in terror, although the voice came out muffled as she had her lips mushed against the Supreme Being's.

She pulled away from the kiss, flopped down on the human-shaped horror's hips, and tried to scramble away… Only for her to be caught.

Kuroka's face impacted against the floor as she was pulled back by her tail and the strong hand around the prehensile appendage squished it.

"Oww- P-Please, my lord! I- I can explain!" Kuroka turned around on her butt and tried to crawl away while facing towards the horrifying man-shaped hidden mastermind, forsaking the idea of trying to fight her way to freedom as the Supreme Being had already displayed its power to her, and even if it hadn't, Kuroka knew better than to assume that he was any weaker than the Overlord General.

The Supreme Being lowered his eyes to glance at the two tails that came from Kuroka, one of which was in his hand the other had flopped against the ground limply.

He turned his eyes back towards Kuroka and there was dreadful and final realization in his eyes, causing Koneko's breath to catch.

An arm reached for Kuroka, causing her to freeze up in realization as the motion was similar to the Overlord General when he had reached to grab a new 'sacrifice' and consumed them.

Kuroka hyperventilated as she tried to find a way out, figure out anything, but realized that she was utterly stuck.

Her sexuality wouldn't help her, as she had attempted it before with Overlord General and the result had been disastrous.

She wasn't strong enough to fight off the Supreme Being.

Koneko had disappeared somewhere, which likely meant that the Supreme Being had teleported her off to who-knows-where, and Kuroka realized that He might take his annoyance out on Koneko if Kuroka caused him trouble.

She couldn't run away, as her tail was caught, and if she cut it off then she'd effectively lobotomize herself and her power since Nekoshou were integrally tied to their tails in terms of level of self-awareness and power.

Kuroka whimpered in fear as the arm approached, and she tried to feebly turn around while shaking like a newborn kitten, turning her back towards the approaching Tyrant in a vain hope that not seeing her doom would make it hurt less…

The hand reached the back of Kuroka's head, she froze utterly still, and she prepared to die or worse…

The hand withdrew, causing Kuroka to let out a small sob as she realized that the horror had decided to play with his food.

The hand returned to Kuroka's head, causing her to freeze and let out a small whine of fright.

The hand withdrew, making Kuroka realize that the uncertainty of her doom was His decided way of tormenting her, until he'd move into more elaborate ways of torturing the Nekoshou.

The hand that was still firmly around her tail let her know that such tortures would be coming- After all, it took a flew slices of her tail to it for her to turn as powerless as a baby until the appendage healed, a few cracks and broken bones for her to start losing her self-awareness, and a rip of her tail to her to turn her into something that was a little more than a housecat in a human shell.

Kuroka was horrified and screamed in her fright while tears kept flowing down her face as the hand returned once more to her head, lifted, and repeated the motion a few times…

"Umu… You don't happen to have some sort of relationship with Koneko, do you?" The voice of the tyrant sounded a bit surprised, almost as if he had realized something in the middle of the torture he had subjected Koneko to. "This scene feels… familiar."

Kuroka's breath exploded from her lungs in a desperate screech. "Please don't hurt her! I never- I never meant to betray thee, my lord, I- I- I, um, I thought Koneko's health was of dire concern for thee, and I, I thought it was thine will for me to go and heal her... "

"You didn't answer my question though."

Kuroka squirmed as the hand returned to her head, and the terror of the touch which had consumed the souls of no doubt countless millions, like it's servant had devoured the souls of those of Khaos Brigade, caused the nekoshou to break.

"S-she's my little sister… sniff… pweasee… D-don't hurt her… S-she had nothing to do with my betrayal… sniff… mew…" Kuroka shuddered like a pile of pudding under the frightful touch, even while her traitorous mouth betrayed her relationship with Koneko.

The Supreme Being must have known it, but that he'd feel like 'asking' was more akin to him telling Kuroka 'Oh? So she was your sister? In that case, the fault of your betrayal falls to your family as well…'

"Hm? Hm… Are you now? I remember telling the Elder Lich, or I suppose he is Overlord General now, to not to… Hm, of course." The Supreme Being seemed to murmur something to himself while looking up and down Kuroka's current state and her filthy, shredded clothing. "...I suppose he let you live because of that connection and condition. I did tell him to eat the Khaos Bridage... Are you part of the Khaos Brigade? Tell me who you are and how you ended up here. Leave no details out of it."

Kuroka froze up utterly, and then slowly nodded her head, feeling as if both lie and the truth would damn her. And so, she told the truth, since she felt that out of the two bad options the truth was less damning- At least that way she could hope that the Supreme Being was merely testing her loyalties, since there was little doubt that he knew all that Kuroka could tell him.

The Supreme Being nodded as he seemingly connected a few dots. "I see. I suppose your story checks out. Hm, Koneko could use your help… She's in my Peerage."

Kuroka felt as if a weight had risen from her chest, and-

"But, that being said…"

The hope shattered as the Supreme Being looked into her eyes, and there was no warmth in the void that the soft flesh only barely covered. Kuroka could see as much through Senjutsu.

"...You know too much about me." The Supreme Being nodded. "That makes you a liability."

The hand approached Kuroka once again, and the other had never left her tail.

"Please! Please, no! I'll do anything! I swear I won't tell anyone! K-Koneko! I can teach Koneko how to use Senjutsu! She has the ability as well, I swear! She'll get strong and be a big help to you!" Kuroka tried to back away from the Hand, but it nonetheless reached her head. "I'll never betray you as long as I live! N- no, I mean, I'll never betray you, period! Please, please noo!"

She thought about trying to bite the hand, or swat at it, but she recognized that it was useless.

"P-please make it painless, please…" Kuroka felt as the hand tightened it's grip around her head…

"[Control Amnesia]"

The Supreme Being spoke, and Kuroka felt as if someone had stuffed a spoon into her brain and was starting to take scoops off of it.

'Ah- AAHH?!' Kuroka felt her mind getting invaded and violated, and realized that the fate Overlord General had 'bestowed' upon his 'meals' had been… A merciful one.

She saw as the Supreme Being invaded her memories, looked into her past, when Kuroka had been a mere teenager and Koneko barely a child… When she had turned on her master, who had attempted to experiment with Koneko.

Kuroka's betrayal of her master was brought to the forefront of her mind, and she realized that the Supreme Being was pointing out the dishonesties in her words- She had attempted to swear her loyalty to him, when in reality she had none to give.

The memory of her first master's death on Kuroka's hand was passed over, and the memories of her life after that, being a Stray and SS-class criminal to the Underworld, were glossed over… Until she saw the Supreme Being looking into her memories of Khaos Brigade, and more specifically of her place as the Overlord General's slave.

The memories of the mental torture tormented Kuroka once more, while the Supreme Being seemed to focus his attention on the Overlord General's 'training'... And the memories passed in a blur, until they reached the point of the ambush of the Three Faction's peace meeting.

The Supreme Being saw Kuroka holding up an illusionary barrier that shrouded the Khaos Brigade from view and allowed Overlord General to cast his dreadful magic, but the view scrolled forward to Kuroka fleeing from Overlord General, her being captured by the Supreme Being, and her being brought back… Before she escaped from the Supreme Being in turn.

Kuroka flinched as her mind was getting torn into shreds by the realization of her betrayals of her masters coming back to bite her. 'Please, please… I just wanted to be with Koneko, I swear… I'll never betray you, I'm sorry… Y-you have my eternal loyalty, my soul, my body, whatever you want of me… as long as you let me be with Koneko… Nay, to even just see Koneko, to know that she's safe… Please, please, please…'

The invasion of her deepest privacy continued, although this time the Supreme Being reached into her memories, of the memory she had of the Supreme Being capturing her and bringing her to his servant… And the memory turned blurry and hazy, almost as if the horrifying hidden master had taken an eraser to it and wiped it from her mind.

"K-khah!" Kuroka dry-heaved as she returned to reality. "Wh-whaa…"

"Ah, greetings. Are you hurt?" a voice that belonged to a man greeted Kuroka and she looked up to see a man in khaki-coloured armor and uniform.

Kuroka experienced multiple emotions in a short period of time, each cancelling each other out until only confusion remained.

It seemed that the confusion was something that the man sought, as he reached to shake her shaky hand. "Greetings. I'm Momon. Who are you?"

"I-" Kuroka's eyes widened in realization as her Senjutsu activated, and repaired the memories that He had damaged. 'What- What?! Did… It can't be- Did… He… The Supreme Being tried to modify my memories? And he failed because Senjutsu brought them back? Is… Is this my chance? Does he know Senjutsu can restore memories? Is… Is this a test?'

"I'm Kuroka… Where am I?" Kuroka felt incredibly wary but played along- She had been with Overlord General long enough to pick up from clues that the Supreme Being loved theatherics and, at least as far as she could tell, preferred corny and cringy behaviour. 'Is… Is this just an act as well? Am I a player in the play, or am I just an extra that is brought up and sacrificed when needed? Did he know that his mind-control wouldn't have worked?'

She shook her head to clear it before her mind could betray her.

"Hm, your clothes seem to be in poor shape. Here." The 'man' put his hand to Kuroka's shoulder, causing her to freeze up against her will. And then she found herself clad in a deep, near-black violet yukata, which was quite covering and even almost 'comfy'. Almost, because Kuroka was feeling anything but 'comfy' at the moment, no matter how good her new clothes were. "How are you feeling?"

"I'm… alright?" Kuroka wasn't sure what to answer, and what 'Momon's point was, but she knew better than to talk back or second-guess the Supreme Being himself.

"Good, good… Ahem, I heard that you know Koneko." Momon coughed to his fist, and it took all of Kuroka's self-control to not break down on the spot as it became clear to her that the Supreme Being had some sort of elaborate mental torture prepared for her.

"Ah… I… I don't know who that is…" Kuroka felt as if her heart was getting torn apart as she knew the Supreme Being wanted her to deny her little sister… and then her heart jumped to her throat as the Supreme Being scrunched his face. 'O- Oh no, I answered wrong-' "No, I mean, I'm starting to remember! My dear little sister, of course!"

"Ah, for a moment I thought I had screwed up the manipu- Ahem, umu, please disregard that. We're in great danger at the moment. There is a hostile raid boss, umu, a strong hostile entity that seeks our death." Momon seemed to catch himself mid-speech multiple times, almost as if he was feeling incredibly nervous.

Kuroka was not going to fall for the trap, and instead played along as if she hadn't heard anything odd. "Oh? That sounds dreadful!"

"Indeed. I've heard from Koneko that you can use Senjutsu- is this right?" Momon asked lightly, and Kuroka nodded her head, doing her best to look cheerful and helpful.

She managed to stop herself from devolving into sobs and frightened mews, if just barely.

"Could you cover us with your illusion?" Momon moved his hand towards the door of the house Kuroka had picked as her temporary refuge. "There is something I need to check out, and your ability might come in handy. I can take us to the Underworld afterwards- I'm certain Koneko would like to see you. You'll be safe in Phenix territory, I know the lord and we can hide you..."

Kuroka nodded eagerly on the outside, while she wanted to break down and sob on the inside as she knew what lay outside… And she had a feeling her part in the Supreme Being's 'play' would not be a gentle one.

"Y-yes mast- Momon-san." Kuroka cursed her carelessness as she had instinctively referred to the Supreme Being like she had been trained to refer to the Overlord General. The fact that the two were terrifying was causing her to make mistakes, and right now, Kuroka could not make a single one if she even dreamed of making out alive- Nay, if she dreamed of Koneko not being forced to endure endless horrors for Kuroka's mistakes

Momon moved to the door and stepped out as Kuroka drew from Senjutsu and created an illusionary barrier around herself and her new, lie-cloaked, horrifying and cruel master.

"Hm… Interesting…" Momon reached to 'touch' the 'edge' of the barrier, and his fingers came off with nothing, and both he and Kuroka stepped out to the shimmering, pale and weak light of the new day. "But just in case… [Perfect Unknowable]."

"IYAAAAAAAHHHHH!" Kuroka's scream of fear echoed in the empty Kuoh as she saw the horror, the alien form of the Monster that was the Supreme Being...

It was a creature beyond knowing, a monster without a realm, one that would travel endlessly and consume all that it saw. A creature that could not be reasoned with, for it did not know reason. It was alien to all logic, utterly incomprehensible by the rudimentary brains of the creatures that were bound to life by flesh and blood.

Kuroka had seen a glance behind the thin veil of lies that made the disguise of the Supreme Being when she had used Senjutsu to peer into him, but now he had shed his disguise altogether… And Kuroka had looked into the deepest, most hostile abyss possible.

The form turned towards her, and the Void of incomprehensible power, ferocity and hunger looked into her soul.

Kuroka felt as if her entire essence was sucked dry like a vapor cloud approaching a vacuum cleaner by the creature's presence alone.

She could no longer keep up her acting, she was not strong enough, not courageous enough.

"No… N- no… Please…" Kuroka mewled in fright as she collapsed to her knees, the soft yukata proving little armor for her mind in front of the horrifying master. "Please… please… forgibb..."

The words were the last ones she managed to get out through a blocked, running nose before she fell to the pavement and her head stopped thinking altogether.

.

.

"Oh." Momonga felt quite… surprised.

Or rather, he felt quite a few different emotions ranging from being thoroughly freaked out by Kuroka's sudden screaming, to being quite afraid that her scream had been heard by someone, to paranoid as he contemplated the possibility that Kuroka had screamed in purpose to attract attention to Momonga and get him killed that way.

It seemed that her plan, if the latter option was the case, seemed to be working as Momonga looked in the distance and saw Cthulhu staring right at him.

He opened his mouth, and-

"Who… are you, young one?" The words, or rather meaning without words, echoed around in Momonga's head.

Ddrag keeled over instantly as if the dragon was a squirrel that had been hit in the head.

"I am, umu…" Momonga searched for words as he spoke to the air.

"...Well met, Umu…" Cthulhu's milky eyes narrowed just slightly. "...That scent… I thought you were a lure from Her, but the fish and the fisherman switched places… So it was you… Who deceived me… Who invaded and desecrated my sleep."

Momonga felt as if the flow of the one-sided conversation was turning and opened his mouth to object.

"..." The Outer God's last 'words', or rather meaning that formed into Momonga's mind, was akin to dismissal or a recognition, like a nod between gladiators before the fight.

"Um, could we talk about this?" Momonga asked, but everything seemed to lurch as Cthulhu stood up in the distance as it had been keeling in the water.

The Outer God spoke no more, and instead it drew it's fist back to a strike-

.

.

Sirzechs, Beelzebub and Asmodeus were… Shaky, to put it mildly.

Sirzechs and Asmodeus had snuck in while Azazel was distracted, and had clobbered the Fallen Angel's leader in the back of his head and 'freed' Beelzebub from the fight with the Fallen Angel.

And now, the trio of Maous were having a quick strategy meeting to figure out what to do about the literal Outer God who was kneeling in the sea.

They had seen Michael betray all creation by slaying Odin when the latter had been about to kill the threat that faced the entire world, and Sirzechs had debated about going to retrieve the spear Odin had made.

Beelzebub had cautioned against it, as the spear had landed into the Outer God's view and thus Sirzechs would never make it… And Asmodeus had pointed out that they needed to evacuate the remaining Devils who were still loyal to the Maous.

All in all, the group had been utterly unprepared for a feminine scream in the distance, and had been even more unprepared for Hastur of all things to be walking in the street with an unconscious woman behind her… And then Hastur had decided to shed his mask, and Sirzechs realized that the Human World was lost.

Hastur's play had reached its end, and what would follow the end of the play would be the final death of the world.

Indeed, Hastur turned to speak with his half-brother, Cthulhu, and the two spoke in a language that caused Sirzechs's ears to start bleeding.

However, Cthulhu seemed to become hostile at the end of the conversation, as he drew his fist back and swung towards Hastur… Only for Hastur to lift his hand, and show a gauntlet that had formed around the hand.

The gauntlet shone sickly yellow light as it powered up… And Cthulhu froze still for a moment, before keeling over as if he had been paralyzed.

Sirzechs, Beelzebub and Asmodeus were utterly motionless as they realized that the Grand Play of the King in Yellow had not yet reached it's end- But rather, it had deceived the viewers, for there was one last, great betrayal before the curtains would close.

Cthulhu stood up again with visible effort while a massive brass clockwork contraption formed into being behind Hastur, shaped roughly like a massive clock that had vomited it's gears into a bizarre array around it.

"[The Goal of All Life Is Death]" Hastur's voice echoed in the empty and dead Kuoh, in the dead world whose corpse still twitched, and Sirzechs saw as Hastur extended his hand which glowed bright… And Sirzechs realized that the grand betrayal was two-fold:

He realized that Ddraig, that [Boosted Gear], was not resisting the influence of Hastur… But was aiding it instead. And when Hastur was bolstered by [Boost], and with Cthulhu weakened by the fight with Shub-Niggurath...

"...[Boost], [Boost]..." Now that Sirzechs listened to it, he heard Hastur whisper the words to invoke the function of the [Boosted Gear]... And realized that everything, all the betrayals, all the deaths, all the acts of the play had fed into this singular moment.

To weaken Cthulhu.

The woman behind Hastur seemed to stir, and she froze utterly still as she was looking at the two Outer Beings.

Azazel stirred awake despite the massive bruise in the back of his head, and turned his head as he had been tied up with specially-made rope… And he saw the two Outer Beings clash.

The massive clock behind Momon reached it's twelve-o-clock position as Cthulhu lurched towards Momon, now up properly and with his fist in a swing…

"[True Death]" Hastur pointed his finger at Cthulhu.

And the Outer God's milky eyes dimmed.

Sirzechs felt as if his consciousness could flee at any second.

The Outer God's massive body fell.

Beelzebub had passed out and was lying in a heap.

The massive body crashed against Kuoh, breaking the already-battered city thoroughly.

Asmodeus produced a pillow and put it under Beelzebub's head.

Hastur reached to touch Cthulhu's tentacles as one of the gasline-sized appendages had almost fallen on top of him.

"Let's see… This worked for him, so... [Sacrifice]." Hastur seemed to speak as if in wonder, after killing his ancient half-brother.

The massive body of the Outer Being shattered into dust and seemed to be absorbed into Hastur.

'...Hastur devoured Cthulhu. His power.' A thought passed by Sirzechs's head… Before it all crashed on top of him, and the reigning Maou of the Underworld flopped down, utterly unconscious.

He could afford the luxury, for Sirzechs knew that there was no hope for anyone, anymore.

.

.

Momonga felt quite… giddy.

"Umu. Umu, umu, umu umu…" Momonga nodded to himself as he resisted the urge to dance, and failed as his [Emotion Suppression] no longer worked.

He reached down to grab Kuroka, uncaring if the woman consented or not, and started to dance 'Skeleton shuffle' with the woman who was staring forward flatly as if she was conscious but had 'shut off' mentally.

Indeed. Momonga had realized something.

'Could it be that I've done this wrong all this time?' Momonga spared a thought about the different methods he and his Overlord General had used to 'level up'.

Indeed, Momonga had used [Sacrifice].

In YGGDRASIL, the experience required to level up was linear at early levels. But it became logarithmic at higher levels, until capping at level hundred

So, Momonga had to assume that the experience ramped up after level hundred at the same pace as YGGDRASIL, which meant that it'd be progressively harder and harder for him to reach a higher level.

So he estimated that to reach level one hundred and ten required experience equivalent of him spending a few years doing nothing but 'that' in bed with his entourage of girls.

So, the fact [Sacrifice] had instantly leveled him up to level hundred and thirty had essentially caused Momonga's brain to shut down and revert to basic celebratory functions.

Ddraig seemed to be celebrating as well in Momonga's head, although it was more like the dragon just flopping lifelessly while 'Momonga' had grabbed the dragon by the claws and had started dancing 'Skeleton Shuffle' with it as well, ignoring the fact the dragon had rabid foam coming from the side of his maw and the dragon's eyes were bloodshot and utterly unseeing, like if he had suffered a panic attack of epic proportions.

Momonga paused the dancing as he remembered what he had come into Human World for, and reached down to grab Kuroka as she had collapsed like a doll with her strings cut when Momonga had stopped dancing.

He lugged the woman to his shoulder, and headed to where Michael had described Odin had died.

He couldn't resist the urge to skip in his steps as he walzed to the clearing that had come as a result of something massive being formed into being and then being reduced to ash… And saw a huge spear sticking out of the ashes.

"[All Appraisal Magic Item]." Momonga moved his hand over the shaft and pulled the weapon out of the ash. 'It's a spear, and thus not very useful since I can't use spears… But perhaps I can use some of the levels I just gained to get at least basic proficiency with this?'

A rift opened in the air, and Momonga put the [Spear of Yggdrasil] into his inventory.

'Come to think of it… I never really learned why exactly Cthulhu was here in the first place…' Momonga thought idly as he created [Gate], and left the ruins of the Human World.
