I see, so this person is a demon, huh? His stats are certainly impressive, unlike the monsters I found in this forest. Minnerva and the rest are only around level 50 and below after all. This desparity is why they don't stand a chance against the demons.

Agravil stares at me, though he is shocked. "Damn it, who the hell are you human? How are you able to scratch me? Much less cut my hand?"

Minnerva is looking confused at me with her mouth agape. I'm not sure whether that's the look of admiration but I'm glad I'm able to help her.

If my brother is here, he will most likely do the same. Not to mention, her tail was very soft that it made me fall asleep in seconds. I want to sleep on it again, so I can't let her die.

Agravil sighs, he plays it cool. "Human, you're not listening, huh?"

The arm I cut off regenerates instantly. He clenches it as though to test it out. "Regardless, I'm glad that I'm able to find a human who can take on middle class demon on equal footing. I will take you down right here so you won't be a threat to my comrades."

A dark smoke coats his arm, he then grins as he puts his sights on me. "Abyssal scratch!" Upon swinging his claw at me, a dark slash flies on my direction.

I simply slash it when it is within my reach, cancelling it in mid-air.

I can feel it. The moment I tried to nullify it, I can feel the heaviness of his spell. This one is not like any weak monsters. He is a real deal!

I smile upon him. "Not bad. I almost lost my interest since I thought you were like those slimes. I'm pumped out right now! Prepare yourself."

He grits his teeth looking enraged. "How dare you, a mere human look down upon me?! We demons are the strongest in this world!" As rage consumes him, dark mana swirls in his body.

Looks like I angered him, but it isn't my intention.

Weirdly enough, he slam his palm on the ground and yells. "Abyssal Nightmare!"

Looks like nothing is happening. However, my eyes suddenly just adjusted to see that there is an activity of dark mana below me.

However, how am I able to see it?

[Eyes of Valkeryun (Passive)

Readily detect dark spells upon sight]

Looks like it's true. My body was unified with Valkeryun's core, that's why I am also capable of what Valkeryun can do to some extent.

Regardless, I leap up and the shadow I left on the ground rises to become solid dark spikes, like its tentacles lurching towards me which I easily dodge.

Even though it looks dangerous that i can pierce me easily, they are too slow for me.

"Tsk, damn you!" Agravil yells from annoyance.

However, he shows a confused and pathetic look, when after landing on the ground, I whizz towards him with insane speed.

"Huh?"

I slice him up 30 times in a second after passing through him. Just when he is blinks, his blood springs up from the gashes like fountains following his yells. "Ahhh! Damn it!

His skills are powerful but compared to me who is at level 420 and who has a higher stats, this demon is nothing.

Agravil falls down flat on the ground in silence.

No way that it was that easy. I scratch my head. "Ehh? Is that it?"

He was almost on par with Sagus so I expected more action. I'm still left a little more unsatisfied after all.

Looking at Minnerva, she backs off from me from fear.

[Minnerva]

I can't believe she just slew an apostle effortlessly, especially when an apostle stomped us like ants. Who the hell is she? She is not an ordinary adventurer. I never heard of humans standing up against demons.

I can remember the time the second apostle easily killed Sir Gendrid. This is the third apostle, so we might stand a chance against the other apostles with her help.

She is my only last hope!

Melina runs to me then hugging me. "Forgive me sister, it was all my fault."

I then pat her head, consoling her. "It was also mine. I should have looked after you. You were just trying to protect the clan."

"No, I will accept any punishment later."

Right now, Vermil comes close. She waves her hand to me. Her smile says she is harmless but after seeing her fight, I can't help but feel wary. "Hey, Minnerva. How are you?"

Melina hides behind me. "Sis, is she an enemy or an ally?"

"An ally-- I think."

I try to ask her. "Ve-Vermil, who the hell are you?"

"Who am I?" She thinks for a second like an innocent child. "I'm Vermil, I think our last name is Millas. I also have a brother."

"Well, I mean, how are you able to defeat a demon? We've heard no humans were able to defeat one, much less this must be a strong ones in their rankings, this is the third apostle."

She puts her finger below her chin as though to ponder then the last seconds chuckles naively. "Honestly, I don't know."

"You don't know, huh?"

Vermil looks at the basket offerings I put on the ground. "Anyway what is this?"

"These are the best fruits and meat I can find, I offer them to the Infitius and pray. It used to be our tradition."

"Infitius?" She looks glad when a realization hits her. "Isn't that my brother? I see, you give these offerings to my brother, huh? You're quite kind." She grabs it, carrying it with a smile. She also asks, "is it all right for me to take one as well?"

No way. There's no way I heard it correct. The Infitius is her brother? Did Sagus had a sister? Or wait this must be a new Infitius. I think it makes sense why she was able to defeat a strong demon.

If the Eastern Overlord is strong then she must be one as well.

Regardless, I have to ask her if she knows these demons just for confirmation. I already know that they are fake but I wanna hear it from her mouth.

"Do you recognize them? Do they know your brother?" I point at the demon on the ground that she defeated.

"No, it's the first time I saw them.

Then--

I take a deep breath as I was about to mutter the words that I am afraid of. I starred tearing up, probably letting out all of the emotions from my chest. "Melina, finally... we have hope!"

Vermil just looks at us while getting an apple from the basket. She bites and then chuckles. "This red fruit is really sweet."

I stare at Vermil intently. "Vermil, listen to me carefully. I'm gonna tell you everything."

I told her the story that my people were treated like slaves by this so callef Eastern Overlord, we were forced to kidnap other people and bring them into the village under the will of the Infitius. We were also forced to mine for Magnus stones set with harsh quotas that most of us died out from hunger and exhaustion.

It was tough for almost three years that we endured.

Vermil stomps her foot on the ground shaking the earth slightly. It's obvious that she is mad.

"Minnerva, my brother would never do such a cruel thing! Besides we recently just escaped the Infinite Dungeon."

I feel sad but I also feel some relief. To think that a real Infitius exist and will most likely sympathize with our situation. I then kneel in front of her. "Vermil, I beg you. Let our people meet the real Infitius."

Melina also kneels. "Please, we know your strength. We believe you. I beg you, please save our clan and our people. If you do, we, the Silver Clan will serve the true Eastern Overlord."

Vermil scratches her head, with a confused look. "To be honest, I'm not sure how to answer that, because that decision will be left to my brother. But I will help you meet with him."

Melina and I smile, staring at each other, hearing the good news. Finally, if we have the real Infitius on our side, we will be able to save the village. Those demons will pay for what they did to our clan.

However, just when we are about to celebrate, a shockwave is released from the demon's body on the ground. We get pushed backward and fly away from the heavy air pressure. Upon landing far away from Vermil, we notice that the demon is still alive.

"To think that the real Infitius has risen from the dungeon. This is not permissible! I will have to tell the others and call our lord." The demons rises up stiffly.

What's with this feeling? It feels like the world is being eaten by darkness. Regardless, I can't believe that the demon is still alive when Vermil hacked him several times.

A giant crimson magic circle shows up below the feet of the demon. I have never saw a magic circle as big as this before.

According to Sagus, the demons have a trump card. The proof why demons are the ultimate race, seperating them from the other races.

We are safe thanks to the shockwave that pushed us outside the magic circle. But Vermil is still inside it.

Please be careful!

[Vermil]

Looks like the demon is still alive. I should have finished him for sure earlier. Normally, I won't be able to see well due to the dusts from the gust he creates from the spell he is casting, however, with Valkeryun's eyes I can see that he is transforming.

I'm not sure what's going to happen now, but I'm excited. I mean I never had a powerful opponent after the one I fought in the dungeon.

I can see in my system that his each of his stats are increasing abnormally, worse, nonstop. Not to mention, his mana influence are spreading though out region.

I haven't seen this before. There hasn't been a warning from the system unless its a powerful spell that can threaten me.

I can't advance due to the heavy gust being produced as the demon is casting the spell.

[Verni]

As I chill inside the library and do my work. I keep an eye on the nun. I don't want her to see my ability after all.

Without warning, a notice screen hit my vision.

Huh? Demonic what?!

I'm so confused. I try to follow it up with the system.

[Essential Clone is engaging in combat against a middle-class demon]

Wait, demons? Why the hell is Vermil fighting against demons? Regardless, what are demons?

My clones are looking for books that has information about the demons. They then read it and the system summarizes it for me.

[Demons are superior race that dwell beyond Munren. They are born to be stronger than humans and some on their prime have the strength of a continental Overlord]

This is bad! She may not be able to fight well against it.

I contact Vermil with telepathy. "Vermil, don't fight against a demon! Just run if you can and wait there."

[Vermil]

I take a deep breath, hearing it from my brother.

I remember what Tharius said to me back then.

"I'm sorry brother, I have to disobey you again. I made a promise after all, I'm gonna protect these two and let them see you." I reply on him through telepathy.

"I see, just take things easy and retreat when you feel the need to. I'll wrap up things here and go to you as soon as I can."

"No need to worry brother, you take your time. I can handle this!"

As your sibling, I will be sullying your name as the Eastern Overlord if I can't take this guy alone.
