The Two Storms Coming

Jisoo returned with a sour face. She looks at me for a moment before she approaches quietly like a cat watching a prey. I took a step back unconsciously. Her eyes remained on me as she said, "I am serious about us."

"Is there something wrong?"

"I took you to Jules since I want to know if you would be dissatisfied. You didn't complain despite me testing you."

"You were testing me?"

She nodded, a bit guilty.

"I was. I wanted to know if doing so would turn you a bit away. As you know we started rather abruptly and I fear that we took things too fast."

"Well, we did. So what… Do you mean?"

"I am using you."

"I know that, somehow."

"I said that I am using you to comfort myself. I have nothing left. No clan. No Leiko. Only associates who do only business. You still can have something. I saw your friends… although they are… women… nonetheless, you still have some."

"I already agreed to become your partner. If you think that this isn't going to work… just tell me."

"I hope it will."

I took a step forward. I recalled how I was like a fool to Katherine. How little we communicated that it only caused misunderstandings and abandonment. We are adults so there is little to no reason to not talk even if one is unreasonable.

"I mean we did go fast. I'm not one to complain considering… and like I said. We barely know each other. It hasn't been a year and merely weeks that we've known. But we agreed that we would get to know each other. So here we are now. Suddenly living together. You seem to like me and I am rather lucky to have that."

I feel like a lying son of a bitch. I know that I was doing her wrong. If she knew that I knew what was going to happen to her clan. Would she resent me? Tell me that I was a bastard for not telling her?

I don't know. Nonetheless I don't want to complicate matters. N ot when the old owner made a stupid mistake such as that.

"We'll make it work. I guess that we need to talk. Understand. I respect you if you want to be careful. I mean hell if I'm still here and not pissed about just because of that thing."

She looked at me funny. She giggled about something.

"It may not suit you if you are too understanding, Nik."

"Veda, you know that I am somewhat reasonable."

She circled around me before nodding at herself.

"Maybe I really wasn't that foolish. Or are you just afraid that I'll kick you out of my house?"

"I mean I still have that?"

I showed her my bank account. She widened her eyes.

"How?"

"Let's just say that I 'borrowed' some of those gang funds. Even the law shouldn't have a problem knowing what I did."

She looked stunned, then laughed slightly. There is something about her laughing and giving a slight smile that made me understand why Leiko or anyone else that matters would want to have her. It is a treasure.

"Tsk, and here I was hoping to boss you around."

She settled down on the couch. I sat next to her.

"I'd prefer if we get along well. Without bossing around. Equals? How about that?"

"You are idealistic, Nik. Too bad that it is only in your dreams that you'd find me so docile."

"Yes, because it's a good idea to provoke an Augmented who knows how to wield a blade."

"I'm glad that you know."

She leaned on her couch eyeing me.

"I'm sorry that I forced you to fight with me. You could have refused. If anything I am somewhat confused on why you didn't."

"I don't know. I feel like I've been lost somewhat. Thing is that I don't really know. I have no place in this world and it is hard to find where to go. There is only so little that my mind can think of what I should do. If anything I'm glad that you're around to somewhat enlighten me."

"Now you're just being understanding. I hate docile men."

"And you are too blunt, Veda. I am half-expecting you to confuse me with vagueness."

"Do you want me to? If anything it might be fun to tease you."

"Please spare me. It would be good if we understand each other or at least know where we stand so we don't make a mess. I'm just thankful that you are agreeable at the moment."

She folded her arms. "It almost sounds like you want me to be unreasonable… oh my, do you perhaps have such fetish?"

"No?"

"A shame. I wouldn't mind berating you while you are down."

"Is that your fetish?"

"Now you're just asking for trouble."

"It was a purely innocent question of mine."

"Sure, anyway," she leaned her head on my shoulder. "I'm glad you're here to help me out."

I recalled that in that world. She was a lonesome killer. Someone who would appear once in a while. She was lost and even the 'hero' of that world couldn't bother to pacify her. She already went cold and she was nothing more than a hired killer. But the Jisoo in front of me was still not that kind of woman. At least not totally a killer like I saw her.

She closed her eyes and seeing her slowly fall asleep made me feel somewhat glad that she'd talk instead of hiding it. I carried her to bed and laid her down gently. Placing a blanket over her, I went to the balcony and thought about a problem that I should have worried about ever since coming to this world.

I was only thinking of myself so now that I had thought about it. I forgot that if this is the parallel world where they exist… then wouldn't it mean that the two playable characters would be around as well?

Vincent Gaius and Mino Naomi.

Both have different backgrounds and different paths. I was so busy with myself that I didn't really take into account what those two would do. If they are really around then it means that nothing has changed and those two natural monsters are going to be around to do their work. They are going to be part of something big. Their role in this world is something predestined and even though I am in Agua at the moment. I know that one of them is going to be visiting Agua City for a side job.

Vincent Gaius would visit Paxon City for his tutorial mission. While Mino Naomi would visit the City of Agua to start her tutorial. If anything I was in the city where it started for one of them. I only wish that I wouldn't have to encounter those two. Because I know it myself that they have the necessary talents to become dreaded individuals. They are like storms that couldn't be stop until they become someone who would frighten everyone in the city of Pacifica.

And Agua City is one of the cities where their stories start.
