"Why?" they asked at the same time. Adit and Dwi looked back and didn't find anything they found. They were confused.
"I forgot! There is a house! I'll go first," I said goodbye and quickly ran towards the stairs without revealing the crushed body.
Crazy! Crazy! Crazy!
Why did I have to see that?! Oh, Lord! Why do I often see ghosts?! I continued walking with my head down, several friends were already busy in front of their respective classes. Someone said hello, and asked, but I only gave the response. I have memorized all their names, even the character, and personality of all my classmates.
But it would be strange if I suddenly became acquainted with them because this was the first time I was back in school after a week of truancy. I'm sure they don't know me.
"Sisi! You've already entered school. Are you sure? Are you okay?" asked Wardani who was standing in front of the class.
"It's fine, Dan. What's the point of being in the hospital too long anyway. Bored."
"Thank goodness. Come on in," he said, taking me inside. "This is your seat, remember, right? You might lose your memory again. hehehe," she teased.
"It's all me, Dan," I said quietly. I was introduced to other classmates. Their response is good, they only ask basic questions in general. Because this is the second time I've met them face to face, across this time.
Today is the first and second hours of Indonesian and mathematics lessons. In my school days, lessons like this still apply, different from 2017, the curriculum is different and lessons are getting more complicated. When my teacher was explaining, someone entered the class, the door had been opened earlier. But I don't think I want to see that again this morning. His clothes were dirty and there was a lot of blood dripping on them. I lowered my head and mumbled a prayer in my heart. But my fear dominates, and at the corner of my eye, the figure is getting closer to me. I turned and he was standing right next to my desk. There was no expression, there was only an empty, hideous look in those eyes.
"Allahu Akbar!!" Spontaneously hugged my seatmate, Epi.
"Why?" She asked confused because now I too cry. The woman's hand reached out to grab me. I panicked and made a scene in the class. "Why is that? Why are you crying?" my teacher asked?
"I don't know, ma'am," said Epi, confused. I closed my eyes and continued to recite the prayers.
This time it was a tap on the shoulder, which made me jump. It was Mrs. Sri, the teacher who looked worried to see me. "What's wrong with you?"
"Uh, it's okay, Mom," I replied nervously as I looked around.
"Want to go to the school's health clinic? Just rest there first?" When I looked at the classroom door, the figure was still there.
"No need, Mom. Just stay here," I said, trying to hide my fear.
Even though I was scared, I still looked at the figure. But strangely he just looked behind me. I looked back out of curiosity. There were several of my male friends sitting in the row, but there was one person who looked at me meaningfully. With a smile and then raised his thumb and said "safe" It can be seen from the movement of his lips, although without a sound. I'm still surprised. Could it be that the figure left because of Hangga?
Break time arrived, Hangga walked out of the classroom and I tried to follow him. I grabbed his left hand and managed to make him stop walking and turn to me.
"Hangga! What did this mean?" I asked, imitating his style earlier. He chuckled.
"Yes, it's safe. Don't worry. He won't dare to approach you again if I'm around," he explained.
"Heh! Who is she?"
"Oh my god. Do I need to explain why you were screaming?"
"Oh, so you can see too?"
"Yeah, I've been used to seeing things like that since I was little. When did you start? Judging from your reaction, it must have been a while, huh?"
"Wake up from yesterday's coma."
"I see. You seem to be in near-death. It's usually like that when you suddenly see 'them'."
"Really?"
"Maybe. I don't know." Wardani approached, and we had to stop this conversation.
"Come on, go to the cafeteria! We're even going out here," he joked to me, glancing at Hangga.
"Who else is dating! You bastard!" said Hangga then joined his other friends. I took Wardani and walked down the stairs. As I passed class 1-1, I saw her. Well, he is! Ari. The person who ruined my life and threw me away after getting what he wanted.
I would never want to be near him again, for whatever reason. He is the reason I want to change the future. Until the bottom floor, I looked back at the place where the figure of the student who jumped this morning. There's no one anymore. However, when I walked away from the building and turned, he was there again. Sit on the parapet with your legs swinging. It seems that was indeed his activity after he died. Return to death. So sad.
Wardani kept telling me many things when I didn't go to school yesterday. Then from behind, two people joined us. Mia and Asti. They are also our classmates. Mia sat at the table with Wardani, while Asti sat at the table next to me with Arif. We headed to the canteen which was near the school's emergency exit. It's also close to a small parking lot with two big trees nearby. The canteen belongs to one of my mother's friends. The four of us chatted casually while responding to some of the students at school. Until finally passed the third grade, and again met with Dwi. He kept looking at me deeply. I know if he likes me, but I try not to respond because he already has a girlfriend who is also in the same class as him.
"Sisi ... Dwi likes you, huh?" asked Wardani who realized that he had been staring at me for a long time.
"Because yesterday you didn't come in, he asked me about you. I'm really curious about you."
"Let it be," I said lazily in response.
"He doesn't have a girlfriend, does he?" Mia asked, getting lost in this conversation.
"You boy, huh! Playboy!" said Asti, sarcastically.
After the third grade, we passed the second grade. On the second floor, there was someone who was very clearly looking at me while putting on a sweet pretentious face. I know who he is, because, in my memory, he is one of the men who persistently pursued me. But sadly, I didn't respond just yet. Because to me he's a little weird. His soft-spoken style with a sad look did look sweet. But behind that, he is the head of a school gangster named Schatzi.
According to rumors, he was a former addict, with a fairly prominent family background. I looked back at him, he smiled, and I automatically did the same. Her name is Ben. Although he has a bad predicate, he is also one of the smartest students in school. Suddenly he disappeared and soon reappeared behind me. Asti, who initially walked side by side with me, then quickened her pace following Wardani and Mia. It was as if they deliberately made room for the two of us. He continued walking parallel to me, both hands placed behind the body with a smile that continued to widen.
"Hi..." he greeted me kindly.
"Hi."
"Can I get to know you?"
"Yeah sure."
