Side story 7

With Japan closing their border for almost 2 years, problems would be that the amount of labour forces needed since less foreigners would've came in would be huge. And some of the current foreigners who was currently working in Japan were being abused due to them being foreigners in itself.

As a matter of fact, when the border was closed, one of the Indonesian worker working in Japan, were not allowed to went back home to saw her grandma who was nearly at the end of her life. And yet she still couldn't saw her grandma last moment due to the risk of the companies holding her up like a hostage in which case if she decided to leave Japan just to saw her grandma last moment, she might risk loosing her job and unable to enter Japan again which was a disgrace in itself. This also ruins some people dreams about working in Japan.

Another one was that one of the Vietnamese worker working in Japan was being abused by some of his Japanese co-workers as he got beaten up and talked down. This incident was a big one that it got into the news and it shows that still some of the Japanese companies had flaws with how they treated the foreigners. In the end, it went to court as the Vietnamese trainee had a broken bones and was being sent to hospital with a few broken bones. In the end, the trainee sued the Japanese company and the company were banned from hiring foreign trainees.

All of this shows that some of the Japanese people were still xenophobic and likes to discriminate the foreigners as they didn't even had an ounce of Japanese genes. Even sometimes the half-Japanese people also getting the discrimination that were not needed in the first place. And also, human rights issues in Japan were sometimes not being focused seriously. In the end, the entry ban in itself were very much inhumane and it shouldn't even be this long compared to other good countries like US or UK. Even then, some foreigners do wanted to enter Japan and were willing to wait that long due to the dream that the foreigners had towards how they thought Japan could be one day. But to questions when Japan would fully open towards the foreigners would still be a mystery till this day.
