"Inform Jimmy to prepare for a flight in the next fifteen minutes," Max commanded one of the guards as he walked passed them.He had decided to go see the stranger girl his driver had knocked off that night before flying back to Gel to sort out what he had not done long before. He had soon reached the room where the girl was being treated under a high security. Actually Max wasn't always that good to people, but since his own driver was responsible for the girl's situation, he had decided to take full responsibility as he was still in Verge. Entering the room, Max could see the the young lady laying on the bed. He moved closer to the bed and took a seat on the wooden chair beside it. He moved closer to study the girl's face and he couldn't help but admire her beauty that was evident even in the dark. She was so beautiful that he couldn't take his eyes off her. Her narrow nose and quite full pink lips were so inviting. Some strands of hair fell on the girl's face and Max couldn't help but raise his hand and tuck the strands behind her ears. In all his life, Max had only known one girl and he only loved her unconditionally, even after she greatly betrayed him by joining forces with his enemy so as to end his life. The incident had a huge impact on Max as he started despising women and even ended up closing his heart from any other invasion. But to his surprise what he never expected to happen happened two weeks after his trip to Verge. He had been handling the raising of his casino in the country for two weeks time and when everything became a success after acquiring the best investments from the famous investors, he decided to fly back to his country, Gel. It was almost 10 pm at night when Max's convoy headed to the airport but on the way, the driver of one of his car hit a lady who was crossing the road in such a rush. Though cold hearted, Max couldn't help but take the girl for treatment. He didn't know anything about the girl since it was late at night and there was no one at the time of the accident, so the only choice he had was waiting for the lady to wake up. It had been two weeks since the incident happened but the girl hadn't gained consciousness yet. The doctor had explained the reasons for her deep slumber saying that it was not only because of the accident but also because of the shock that the lady's mind was in therefore her brain cells switched off due to the extreme shock she suffered. The doctor had told them that, temporary memory loss might also occur on the girl as an effect of the switching off of the brain cells but Max was relieved that that didn't happen, otherwise the lady might have ended up stuck with him until recovery, of which he never wanted it to happen. What Max couldn't understand nor share with anyone was the feeling he had whenever he looked at the girl. A feeling of gladness always filled his being and he couldn't understand why and he began longing to see her each day.
"Master, your flight is ready," one of the guards informed Max after standing for almost ten minutes waiting for his boss's attention but got none.Max stood from where he sat and walked out of the room to where the his private jet was boarding. It took no time and the flight departed. Miguel stood at the bow and looked at the plane as it flew away. He was stuck in Verge and he had to cancel his contract and take care of a girl he knew nothing of.His anger had already reached its limit and he knew he could wage war with anyone. What he couldn't understand was Max's sudden change. They were to return back home in the past two weeks but he decided to remain just for some random girl who the guards would have taken care of and take her to her family after recovery.
"This man can be so annoying," Miguel scoffed as he walked towards the girls room. As he stepped in, he caught the sight of the girl trying to sit up and suddenly, his anger vanished into thin air and he rushed to the bed to sit up.
"Take it easy miss....and you need not to sit up....just continue laying down,"he spoke tenderly making the girl answer immediately.
" I feel exhausted from laying down ... I guess I have been laying for a while now ....I need to sit up please,"she spoke and he helped her up. The girl was weak and the weakness was greatly reflected in her voice. Miguel couldn't help but wonder if the girl wasn't hungry yet since she had been unconscious for the last two week.
" Will you have something to eat?" he asked a long while of silence and she nodded her head. Miguel grabbed his phone from his pocket and contacted the main Chef.
" Monica...bring some hot chicken soup to room 14," he ordered as the girl stared quietly at him. The two remained silent until the soup was brought served in a large bowl on a tray. Miguel served the soup in another bowl and fed the girl after adjusting the light in the room.
"Who are you?....and where am I?" the girl asked as soon as the man finished feeding her. Miguel turned to gaze at her as if not sure whether to tell her or not but he ended up answering truthfully.
"You are in port city..." he responded making the girl's eye's widen in shock. Port city was miles away from her home or rather say the city she and her small family lived in. Miguel saw the reaction on her face and decided to ask.
" Why are so shocked young lady?" he asked his voice sounding quite humorous.
"H....how d..did I get here?" she asked in confusion making the man chuckle a little.
"We brought you here for treatment since we were responsible for your situation.... anyways...tell me about yourself so that I can help you get back to your family if you have one," Miguel continued. The girl let out a sigh before answering.
"Ammy...from Frea City....live in street 1," she answered calmly.
"So where were you from that night?....was someone chasing you?" he asked looking closely at her.
" My mother suffered an asthma attack and I went to buy her a new inhaler.....I don't know know what happened since I couldn't get back home. Do you think she is fine?" she asked tears streaming down her face. Miguel was caught off guard by her question and her tearing down. He was confused for a while but he quickly recovered and all he could do was pat her head gently after pulling her for an embrace.
" I can't tell but be positive," he responded calmly.
"You should rest now....it's already late at night.... goodnight," he said with a warm smile as he helped her lay down before walking away towards the door.
"Please don't switch the lights off," Ammy pleaded and Miguel just nodded with a warm smile. As he walked out, he couldn't help but feel compasion for the girl and hoped that all would be fine soon.
