Chapter 2

"Go check on her," the man commanded after the nurse he had sent for arrived.

"How is she?" another young man asked him as he walked away after instructing the nurse.

"She woke up calling her mother's name?" he answered just to earn a confused look from the man.

"That's not what I asked Max," the young man retorted. Causing the cold man to turn his head before responding.

"And do I look like a doctor to you?" he asked making him shut his mouth. The two men walked quietly as they headed towards another room in the same yatch. They were both silent silent for a while before Max spoke.

"Miguel...what should I do now that she is awake?" he asked making the man's forehead crease in disbelief. Just a while ago, he had made sure to shut him by his answer and here he was again, asking for advise from him. Miguel just stared him, wanting to ignore his question but he couldn't. He knew that he would be on his bad side if he didn't answer his question so all he could do was stare harsh at him as if trying to say that ' I thought you had the best answers and solutions too. So why ask me?'.

"You should ask her about her family or home and make sure she goes back home....her family might be looking for her," Miguel responded calmly yet his voice could tell that he was angry at Max but Max never cared, infact he never cared for anything or anyone I. the world except for his reputation and his big business empires.

"Does she even have a family?" Max asked after along silence making Miguel's brows crease in surprise.

"Ofcourse you dude...how could such a beauty not have a family?" he asked ignoring the the cold aura that the man was now emitting. He knew that the sudden change was caused by the 'dude' thing but he wouldn't apologize. Atleast that was the only he could get back to him for shutting him up with his answer earlier. But he was clever enough for him to continue talking before the man would do anything to him.

"W..well she might not have a family as you say but the only way to find out the truth is to ask her," he responded before walking away noting the cold aura that the man was still emitting. Max's gaze didn't leave Miguel as he walked away hurriedly out of the room. He knew that this close friend of his was still intimidated by his deadly and uncomfortable auras and he couldn't help but chuckle. In his whole life since child hood, Max only had one close friend, Vivan. It was. Vivan who introduced Miguel to him and the three of them because friends from since. But Vivan was a busy man and he spent little time with his friends and only when he was free. Due to Vivan's always busy state, Miguel became Max's partner in almost everything he did. As much as he liked the guy, Max always found it fun to intimidate him with his sudden swirl of auras.Max was still sitted on the same position, enjoying the ocean's breeze when the nurse came in.

"Speak," he ordered without even looking at her making the young woman speak almost immediately.

" Sir....I found her lying on the floor unconscious, I think she passed out due to the pain so I injected her with some painkillers," she stated hurriedly as the man listened calmly before turning to face her.

"Leave....be here tomorrow morning to check on her," the man responded before he turning his gaze outside the window. He remained quiet for a while after the nurse left, still gazing at the opened window. After a long while of silence, his phone vibrated continuously in his pocket and took it and stared at the screen for a while as if trying to decide whether to pick it or not. The phone vibrated for some more seconds before the calling hanged up. Max was almost reaching his pocket to return his phone when it vibrated again making him receive it almost at that very same time. He remained quiet after picking the call untill the person on the other line spoke.

"I knew you would pick Max," the voice started and Max remained silent." I was told that your trip to Verge would last for two weeks time but it's a month now....when will you be coming back?" the speaker continued.

"Why?....you want to plan another way on how to kill me?" Max asked, his voice void of any emotions. There was a dead silence between them before the person spoke.

"Max....I know I messed up...but don't deserve another chance?....I promise to change," the person continued but the silly call was now becoming a nuisance to Max and he immediately ended the call before slamming it on the bed. His eyes were filled with fury and the dangerous aura was all around him as fire started blazing inside his eyes. He could simply never forgive her, leave alone giving her another damn chance. He would never allow it.Miguel who never knew what had happened, entered the room with a better mood than before, he couldn't wait to brag about his success to Max. Miguel was also a business man who was successful, young and very handsome too but Max was the world wide business god. Therefore Miguel couldn't help but feel ecstatic that he had finally gotten the contract he had been pursuing for three months now without success, he knew that the contract would help him take another step of the ladder to being a prominent business man.

"Max.....I finally got it. I did it," he exclaimed happily. Max knew what Miguel was talking about and he knew how important the contract was to him but after that call, Max realized that he had an important business to to and he had to leave for Gel City that same night.

" To hell with the contract Miguel....am flying to Gel tonight, remain behind and protect that girl," he stated walking past him, causing Miguel's shoulders to drop with disappointment. Miguel's mood changed without warning after hearing what Max said. He had to cancel the most important thing he had invested his time in for three good months for him to take care of a total stranger!! As much as he never knew the reason for such a decision from him, Miguel could only agree to what Max had said since he wasn't given room to protest. Miguel slowly walked towards the bed and sank himself in it burying his head inside the pillow trying heard to fight back his tears that were threatening to fall off his eyes anytime from now.
