Chapter 26

"Is ma'am Ammy awake?"Colbert asked Rose, Ammy's personal maid. He had asked her to serve their ma'am breakfast but she was fast asleep at that time and she has been asleep ever since until it was 5pm.

"No sir...she is still fast asleep,"Rose responded bowing her head slightly before him.The man suddenly felt worried and afraid.

'What if something has happened and we don't know about it?'Colbert thought while unsure of what to do next.It was unprofessional for a servant to wake their master unless they are asked to but he had no option in this.He decided to send Rose to wake their madam up.Rose nodded and headed to the master bedroom.She entered the room and found her madam still asleep.She moved closer to the bed and called her several times but got no response.She became afraid since she was not responding to her and she has been sleeping at the same position for a long while now.

"Ma'am!Ma'am!Ma'am Ammy!" she called while shaking her lightly.Ammy heard someone calling her from far and she opened her eyes slowly so as to adjust her eyes with the light.Her eyes searched the room and met Rose who was standing beside the bed.Rose let out a sigh of relief when she saw her madam awake.

"Good evening ma'am,"Rose greeted her while her head bowed low.

"Good evening Rose,"Ammy responded while sitting upright on the bed.Her eyes felt hazy and heavy and her body was heavy as well.

"Rose...is it 3 pm already?"she asked while stretching a Little and yawning.

"No ma'am,it's past 5pm,"she responded.Ammy jumped off the bed when she heard what the time was.Rose jolted and almost ran out of the room when Ammy jumped off the bed but Ammy's word made her nerve calm a little.

"Prepare me a dinner dress and shoes and jewelries as I shower....why didn't you guys wake me up....this cold man will surely dislocate all my bones if I don't get ready before six,"she shouted as she ran to the bathroom.Rose released her grip on the door handle while catching her breath.She headed to the closet and prepared what her ma'am had asked her.In the bathroom, Ammy decided to use the hand shower instead of the bathtube.The water was hot but just as she wanted it but she couldn't enjoy it the way she wanted because she was going to be late if she did.She washed her hair and her body before wrapping a towel on her slim beautiful body before running to the closet.Rose had already set the clothes and when her ma'am entered the closet,she got to work and helped her get ready.She helped her get dry and applied body oil on her.She helped her into the ankle length silver-colored mermaid dress with small diamonds cones at the waist after her undies.She wore matching jewelries and ankle strap heels.Her hair was combed into waves and some makeup applied.It was already thirty minutes to seven o'clock when she was done preparing.Ammy grabbed her purse and walked out of the mansion and Rose followed her behind.

"Do you think I have kept Max waiting for long?"Ammy asked as she walked downstairs.

"No ma'am...but sir Max left in the morning and has not come back yet,"Rose responded as she walked behind her ma'am.Ammy's brows creased a little after hearing that Max had left in the morning but she kept cool and got ready for the dinner and all the insults to come.

"Ma'am,the driver has been waiting for you outside,"Colbert informed her when she reached downstairs.

"Thank you Colbert and thank you so much Rose.... see you later,"Ammy spoke and headed outside.She met the driver just outside the door.

"Good evening ma'am. Am Trevan, sir Max's personal driver and he told me to drive you.... this way please,"Trevan spoke when Ammy stepped out of the house and led her to where the car was parked.As they approached the car, the chief guard went ahead and opened the door for her.Ammy stepped in and sat at the back seat and the guard and the driver went to the front seats and the car left the mansion at a high speed.

Max stared at the watch,it was twenty minutes past seven already and Ammy wasn't there yet.He remembered telling her to be ready by six and she was to be at the mansion, thirty minutes earlier but she wasn't there yet.Everyone in the family was already there except for her.

'Maybe she decided not come after what I said to her in the morning,'Max thought.

'Then I will deal with her in my own way..'he continued speaking silently to himself.Just then,the butler announced her arrival and Ammy walked in.Mrs Storm stood and embraced her soon to be daughter in law fondly.

"Welcome honey....we really waited for you,"she spoke as they walked further into the lounge.Ammy greeted all of them respectfully with a sweet smile plastered on her lips.

"Am so sorry ma'am but I was caught into something and that's why I got here late.... please pardon me,"

"It's fine dear... have a seat and feel free,"spoke Mr Storm.

"Thank you sir,"Ammy responded with a smile.

"Ammy dear....you are already a member of this family so don't call me ma'am or my husband sir...please call me mum and he is your father as well,"Mrs Storm corrected her daughter and Ammy nodded with a deep smile and her deep dimples came to view.

"Thank you m-mum,"she responded with nostalgia as it hit her that she loosed her mother but she now had another mother.

"And you really look beautiful Ammy,"Mrs Storm complimented her.

"That's very true aunt...she is a real beauty,"Maya complimented her and Ammy smiled shyly before muttering a thank you.Cynthia was pissed when she heard what her daughter said about Ammy.She also knew that the girl was beautiful but she never accepted and would never accept that she was beautiful than her daughters and that she was going to marry her rich nephew.She didn't want that and she would not allow it.She therefore planned to bring another woman into Max's life so that she would also benefit from her nephew's riches through the woman and she would start her mission that very same day.She had settled in her seat when she realized she was sitting besides Max.She looked at him and whispered a 'hi' which the man just assumed and stared at her calmly.Ammy felt uneasy by how he was staring at her and that...Infront of his family...and he still looked angry.She was about to say something when Milady came in.

"Hello Ammy....and why are you putting on a dress just exactly as mine?"she asked with a wide smile when Ammy stood to accept her embrace.Ammy returned her smile before responding calmly.

"I can't even tell Milady." she responded.

"I will take that for today but I won't next time,"Milady joked while laughing heartily."Or maybe it's a sign that you are to be my sister in law no matter what it takes,"she continued joking and they all laughed.

"Milady,let me say hi to sister in law then you will continue blabbering,"Michael who was standing quietly behind Milady spoke as he pulled her away from Ammy.

"Okay fine,"Milady answered and she allowed him to pull her away.

"Hello beautiful...how are you doing?"Michael asked as he embraced her tightly.

"Am good...and how are you?"Ammy asked sweetly since he was just sweet as well.

"Am good too...you really look gorgeous,"he continued as he loosened his grip and looked at her.

"Son...she will be your brother's wife Soon so don't get yourself tempted,"Mr Storm teased and they all laughed.Everyone took their seats and started chit chatting while laughing out loud as they sipped the wine they had been served earlier.It had been a while since the family came together and be so happy but Cynthia didn't like it because it was Ammy who made everyone so happy.

"I will do all I can to get you out of this family,"Cynthia spoke quietly while throwing bullets at Ammy just by her stare but Maya heard her since she was sitting close to her.
