Chapter 91

Edward Bash watched Maxwell leave for his car silently. He smiled with satisfaction. He had not asked him for dinner but Max had and he really hoped they would get to friendship, more than just business partnership.

He had everything a man would want.Cars, mansions, companies,a beautiful wife and an adorable kid...but he really envied Maxwell.

Even despite being a president's son,he also considered him a god like everyone did.He liked how good he always looked, his effect on everyone, both male and female...and his own success at such young age despite the inheritance thing.

He had always wanted to be friends with him and the dinner thing,he hoped it was the beginning of what he had always hoped for.

He didn't realize that he had standing there for a long while now until his legs almost gave him up to the floor. He cleared his throat, straightened his coat and walked in to the casino. He smiled broadly as he walked inside, all eyes on him now.

Maybe a smile of victory or a smile of success.

He actually had more than fair looks too.He took a seat at the counter and ordered for a glass of wine.

The waitress poured the wine in a glass and passed it over to him.He sipped from the glass then returned it in the counter.

He took his phone from the pocket and dialed his wife's number.Maxwell was right,he should bring his wife with to the dinner.

The phone rang for while but got no response.

He tried again.

A young lady in a booty short and tight top on, walked out of a bathroom. She heard her phone buzz on the nightstand as she walked towards the her huge white bed.

She walked towards it,tucked a strand a behind her ear and picked the phone.

"Yes Edd,"the female voice responded as soon as she picked the phone, a slight smile on her face.

When they got married, she never loved him and she only considered the marriage as a business union between his family and hers...total business.

But she learnt how to love him...and she was now doing pretty well.

"Hey honey,"he responded smiling too.

"Such a pleasant surprise that you called,"she spoke, faking a surprise.

"Oh yeah...I suddenly remembered that I have a wife,"he joked, gaining a chuckle from her.

"Am glad you finally did,"she joked back.

Edward chuckled then got serious...

"Would you be free on Saturday?"he finally asked what he had really called for.

"Is someone asking me out?"she asked with a pleasant frown on.

"I already did...just dinner night with a friend and I thought I should bring my wife along,"he responded calmly, his voice low, quite romantic.

"Who is this friend,if I may know?"she asked curiously.

"I think you should meet him on that day."

"Him?"

"Yeah,him,"

The girl took a moment, as if she was thinking if she would be or not.

"I guess am in then,"she responded after her short silence.

Edward smiled at her response. He really loved his wife and he was really proud of her and would introduce her to anyone at anytime...an he couldn't wait to brag as he introduced his wife to Maxwell.

"Thank you Hun...I thought I would get a 'I would be fixed hun',"he responded then chuckled again.

"Hhm, and I guess that I can't say no to my husband...unless otherwise,"she responded, making him smile even broader.

"Fine honey,see you then,"he responded.

"U- um have you spoken to baby today?...I haven't had a chance to,"she asked sounding concerned and yes,she was.

She might be a complete physcho to say that she wasn't married nor a mother when at Gel, but she actually loved her daughter.

"I did...she is fine.We should get whatever we are doing done and go back home, she must be missing her mum,"Edward spoke.

"She does?I kinder doupt that...I am very aware that she is a papa's baby?"she spoke and chuckled a little...not a pleasant chuckle though.

"That's very true, but maybe it's because you never wanted to have her in the first place,"Edward responded, his smile fading away he said so.

The girl nodded at his words. That was very true but that never meant that she didn't lover her..

"But I love her now Edd...all I want is her to atleast look at me like a young daughter would look at her mother but she doesn't,"the lady responded in a low voice, as though she was preventing her voice from breaking.

"She does honey so stop saying that, okay?...she just isn't that good at balancing love because she is too young but trust me,she does,"he coaxed her through the phone calmly.

"You really don't have to lie to make me feel better,"she mumbled her response, heavy drops of tears threatening to fall off.

She loved her baby but the kid never showed any interest towards her as a mother, she was a father's daughter, and that hurt her quite much.

She was only two years old but she already resented her.

"I will come pick you up,take care of yourself,"Edward spoke then ended the call.

The young lady placed phone back on the nightstand and wiped off the drops of tears that were already falling from her eyes.

She really had wanted to hear him say that he loved her but he didn't...and that added to her heart's heaviness.

She walked towards the bed and sat on it, gripping the bedsheets tightly.

She always wanted to be a better wife, a better mother to her daughter but no matter how she tried, something would make her move a step back.

Even now, sitted on that bed, with whatever had brought her to Gel in mind, she knew she had again failed them, just as she always did.

To a point of saying she wasn't a mother nor wife, just because she wanted some revenge, irrelevant revenge...she really had.

Thinking of it in that manner, she stood from the bed and walked towards the door, hugging herself lightly.

She stared at the compound beneath through the window and sighed silently...she had to get done with whatever she had come for within the two days remaining.

She would get all of it done, then go for the dinner with her husband and fly back to her daughter...and she would be a good mum to her and a good wife to her husband.

He was really a good man and despite having saved his father's business some years back,he didn't cage her or enslave her in a toxic marriage like any other man would...he had given her freedom as though she wasn't a married woman, but she still couldn't be a good wife to him.

It was time to change that...just two days and a new and lovely chapter would be opened for them...for their marriage and maybe love, the love that was beginning to blossom.

Meanwhile at Maxwell's office,

Michael sat behind glass desk, his laptop on it.His eyes were glued to the screen infront of him as he searched for something. It seems he found what he was looking for as he flashed a little smile to his laptop and grabbed the phone on the desk and typed a number on his phone from the laptop.

He placed the phone on his earlobes and waited patiently.

"Hello miss Williams,am Michael Storm from S.B.P Company..."

"Yes Mr Storm but this is miss Williams secretary .She is currently out of the office.Do you mind leaving a message?"the voice from the other line responded.

Michael withdrew the phone from his earlobes and looked at it with a frown.

An office?...a secretary?

He thought she was knew in the field so how would she have an office already?

"No thanks miss, I will just send my message, through an email,"he responded replacing the phone back on his earlobe.

"Alright sir, have a good evening,"the lady responded and the call disconnected.

"Ofcourse I would...I always do,"he murmured to himself as he placed the phone back on the glass holder.

He shifted his attention back to his laptop, typed something quite fast, read through it again then smugged.

Whatever he had written must have been so satisfactory to him!

"Now, am waiting for your response miss Williams, which I already know,"he spoke with a smile of satisfaction as he closed his laptop.

He opened a drawer and placed the laptop in,grabbed his car keys and left his office.

It was evening already and no extra work to deal with.

"You leaving sir?"his secretary asked as he passed through her office.Michael knew that he was always friendly unlike his brother but that...!?

"Isn't that obvious?"he responded his question with a question of his own and proceeded out without another word.

The secretary watched him as he walked away and bit her lip.She knew that beauty ran in the Storm family and she appreciated her boss's looks...he was just good enough to make her not ogle at Maxwell.
