The destined day was approaching, and so was the group preparing for the hunt. With the remaining two coins, Ah Shu bought a book describing the Darkness Forest, it was written by some veteran hunters, so the price wasn't cheap.
Unlike the other group members, Wang Yu didn't like interacting with people, he preferred staying in his room, yet today he was dragged by Lu Min who continued nagging about how Wang Yu had only entered the sect's inn one time and it was extremely short.
The door opened the instant they stood before the inn, a man in his early twenties living the inn bumped into Wang Yu, "sorry I wasn't careful, said the man before giving a hand to lift Wang Yu off the ground"
Wang Yu really didn't understand why every time he entered this place, someone would bump into him.
"Brother Long is Ah Shu and the others still there?" Asked Lu Min.
"Yes, they are."
"Oh thank you."
Entering the inn for a second time, Wang Yu started to feel some changes, when he first came he didn't think much about it since he had just come from the outer sect, there the celestial pavilions were many so even though this inn was great he couldn't appreciate it thinking as if it's but a normal inn. But what he saw shocked him, the place was illuminated by some purple orbs giving it a special vibe, with extravagant decorations, delicious food smell, and a lively atmosphere. Just now did Wang Yu start to understand why his group members would come here every night after training.
Lu Min led Wang Yu to a place where his group members were sitting at a table with two men and one woman who was the same age as Ah Shu. At the first glance, Wang Yu could tell that they were unlike the hunters he had seen before, full of bruises and had a dangerous vibe around them. He was sure they weren't hunters.
"So this your last group member, he's a scholarly boy, forcing him to hunt is being heartless."
Said the girl.
Ah Du sighed when he heard that.
"That's my mistake, I have never thought he would endanger the lives of Wang Yu and Lu Fu, for the sake of a small grievance. Yet you're saying that the sect is just, brother Wu Shu."
Wu Shu was a scholarly man, from the first look, you will know that he's an intellectual man.
Wu Shu hears Ah Du's last sentence.
"Brother Du, what you don't understand is that without the sect regulation he could have made your life way harder even killing would have been possible after all he's the manager's disciple and hold a lot of power within the servant district, yet after that incident, you're still alive with no bruise whatsoever."
He looked solemnly while speaking "the world is filled with danger, there is no holy ground where people are equals, inequality is the way of life. There is no impartial man or organization and there can't be."
Ah Shu seeing how the conversation was becoming heavy changed the topic.
"Brother Shu, I don't understand why the sect has many people within the servant district and yet they aren't given any resources to cultivate, if they don't care about their cultivation then why recruit them."
Wu Shu closed his eyes as if remembering something before opening them again.
"When I first came to the sect five years ago, I was full of hope, I thought I would soar to the sky like those immortals in stories, yet my talent wasn't enough. I was devastated yet the sect gave us hope the next instant telling us that while we won't get free resources we will get a cultivation manual with the possibility of exchanging for cultivation resources."
Wu Shu stopped for an instant before continuing.
"Later I found that while we have the cultivation manual, it was useless without talent nor resources, even though it was possible to exchange for those resources, the sect was blackhearted demanding an exaggerated price for them, it was near impossible to exchange them before years of patience, but the cultivation can't wait. There's a saying within the sect that if you don't start cultivating before the age of twenty-five, you will never be able to cultivate."
The group started to understand why Fuigui had been heartbroken while talking last time.
"I was bewildered, why would the sect open its door to us, yet not help us cultivate."
Wu Shu's eyes were shining as if he had found a truth that no one knows.
"Seven hundred years ago, a boy was tested by the sect but was found untalented. He begged to enter the sect even if he would be a servant as long as he could get the cultivation manual, he would be satisfied doing whatever the sect wanted from him."
"Unfortunately, he wasn't accepted. Instead of giving up, he traveled the world searching for opportunities, and his search was paid, he found a lone cultivator who taught him cultivation, even though he wasn't talented at cultivation, he was extremely good at alchemy so with perseverance he continued to grow, eventually he created one of the greatest sect, the Evergreen Sect."
Wu Shu was full of respect while talking about this senior.
"The other reason is that while the sect continued to grow, it started to deviate from its original objective which was purely guarding the world against the demons of the Darkness Forest and since the cultivators didn't want to directly intervene in the mundane world they created the sect's servant district which was the link between the sect's cultivators and the mundane world."
Wang Yu and the company were shocked, so the sect's servant district wasn't as simple as it is.
The other man who didn't speak till now looked at the group before saying.
"The hunters indeed have the most dangerous job within the sect, but the prizes are the best, and if you become great hunters it won't be any more necessary for you to hunt within the forest, you would be able to participate in missions like the protections of caverns and so on, some missions may even transform you rich overnight. Fortunately for you, Only hunters can participate in those types of missions."
The group was digesting the information they have just heard, to tell the truth, they have been disappointed those days after seeing the prices on the catalog but having this discussion they started to understand how their servant district operates and how they may gain resources as long as they have what it takes to.
They continued chatting, it was a joyous event, with food, drinks, and even some music, they continued to have fun, and in the end, Wang Yu was forced to drink for the first in his life, later he was brought back by Lu Min to his room.
The group continued to train, beside Ah Shu who borrowed a book that depicts a map of the Darkness Forest and some territories of beasts.
"Mind the distance between your legs" shouted Qu Shi who was dueling with Wang Yu.
Wang Yu Was starting to learn, but there was still some problem. Nonetheless, he was advancing and with Qu Shi's pointers, it won't be long before he becomes a swordsman.
"Relax your shoulders, remember the key to becoming a true swordsman is by letting your body take control."
Wang Yu understood, but it was hard to let his instinct take control, he would always think about the next movement.
And so the days continued like that until it was the day for their second hunt. But unlike the first, this time they won't get any outside help, they will be alone.
The good thing is that they have gained some experience from last time.
With that, the group was going to hunt tomorrow.
