Alex looked from one man to the other. At the beginning of this, she hadn't been certain any one of her crew would have warmed to Laurence. The mousy Horotech had little experience on a crew and few social graces. Nigel certainly appreciated Laurence's appearance, but she hadn't been willing to commit to anything more than her Historian trying to make Laurence twitch. The fact that Geri was giving Laurence a glowing compliment in front of witnesses didn't just speak volumes for his opinion of the smaller man. It screamed it.


"I see," she said quietly. She could feel Dr. Hennessey behind her as well as Nigel's eyes on her as they waited to see how she handled this. Her pale blue eyes landed solidly on Laurence, which made him shift in place under her scrutiny. "Well done then, Mr. Kane." She allowed him to see a small smile of approval as she nodded to him.
