Royce's Dorm

Mina looked around the room and didn't know where to start. She wasn't used to staying in a place as messy as that. Since she had no choice but to stay in that crowded little room, she had to do something.

"Royce, where do you think I should put my stuff?" She looked around, wondering over the tiny spaced bedroom.

Royce abruptly opened over the tiny closet behind her.

"Oh, my stuff is in here. Just… just try to settle your things there or maybe not, just don't put it out on your bag. I doubt if all of that would fit in my small closet anyway." Royce rubbed his head without feeling the itch.

Royce knew how uncomfortable it would be like adding another person in that tiny space.

Mina smiled faintly, "It's fine," I'll just put it in the corner."

Royce was about to approach her when his phone rang. He paused and slightly peeked at it before turning his attention back to Mina.

"Yeah, no problem. Uhm, can you excuse me? I'll just have to answer this."

Mina nodded as she glanced over the phone. He hid the screen side, she didn't want to think anything, but the call suddenly made her worried for no reason. Maybe a woman's instinct hit her.

However, she shrugged over the feeling. She was more of a realistic person. It's not her type to usually listen to her intuitions. She would always need shreds of evidence.

Whoever that call came from, it was someone that should not bother Mina.

"Uhm, how about a bathroom? I wish to freshen up later." She turned around to ask Royce, but he had already walked out of the room.

She planned to do that after tidying the room a bit, and she didn't only clean up Royce's space even the other bed's spaces. But the entire room.

It didn't take her much time, though, she was used to it, and in no time just before Royce or whoever occupying the place arrived, she was already done.

Mina suddenly felt dry on her throat after sweating up herself in cleaning. She needed water, so she decided to go out of the room and find the kitchen.

The moment she opened the door. The loud voices of Royce's housemates, hanging out in the living room while watching a sports show, made her cringe. Raising her shoulders to a shrug, Mina continued walking halfway to find the kitchen.

She was hoping to find Royce on her way. She was expecting to know where he was actually. It had been an hour since he walked out of the room to answer a call, and he hadn't been back ever since.

She had bumped over a guy, probably one of the housemates, who only smiled at her and nodded. It seemed like people weren't actually bothered with new faces around the house and seemingly experienced that a lot.

"Excuse me, can I ask where the kitchen is?" She asked before the guy disappeared.

"It was on the right," he simply said. His eyes lingered on her body for a moment before he walked away.

'To the right,' Mina thought as she guided herself the way as instructed until she finally found the kitchen.

As expected there was someone inside, which made her hesitant to get in, until they walked out of the kitchen. She felt relieved being alone in the kitchen as she looked around to find a glass and drinking water.

While she was on it, she heard a faint voice behind a door. It could be a back door, she thought, and the voice was unmistakably from a male.

She planned to look for Royce, and she wanted to check it outside. However, she hesitated to open that door, knowing someone was there. So. Mina decided to wait and leaned her body near the door.

Even though she didn't mean to, she could still hear the whispering voice behind that door.

"I know, I know, yeah. At the right time, okay, and please tell your dad that. Also, tell him that I am thankful for lending us the money. I will pay for it soon. Just tell him to wait, okay? Okay, okay, fine, I love you. My battery is about to die; goodbye now."

The voice actually sounds familiar to her but she disregarded the thought, that it was him. It made her more surprised when the door opened, and it was actually him, Royce. He was still holding his phone, beeping over the last of its battery.

His eyes widened in surprise to see Mina in the kitchen as well.

"Oh Mina, why are you here. I thought you'll just wait inside the room."

"Yes, but I got thirsty and needed something to drink." Her speculative eyes fell straight to his phone.

Instantly, Royce tucked his phone in his pocket and walked towards Mina. He wrapped his arms around her shoulders as they walked back to the room.

Mina left everything that was bothering her mind at that moment. All she wanted to do was take a shower and rest. She got pretty exhausted cleaning the mansion, and even she got there.

Nevertheless, it wouldn't be that easy for her. When they got back to the room two of Royce's roommates were busy rummaging what Mina had just filed up.

"Where did my socks go?" said one of them.

"Dude, I can't find my cap," said the other.

"Excuse me, I'm sorry I didn't know who owns who. So, I just put everything here." Mina pointed over the hamper, which caused one of them to shake his head and the other to palm his face.

"Oh, I'm sorry, bro, she was just trying to spruce up the room," Royce said, barging in between them, explaining on behalf of Mina.

"Okay, fine, dude. Just please tell your girl to hands-off with our stuff," he said as he walked out the door.

The other one simply rolled over his bed while wearing his headset.

Mina looked at Royce apologetically. The last thing she deemed for was being out of the house and sleep on the street. Nevertheless, she wasn't expecting it. Trying to help might even cause her trouble.
