a glimpse

"You looking for someone?" Danny turned back and beheld his private mechanic Arnos O' gold; he was a man of average features but couldn't necessarily be called stout, he had a very charismatic look and with a beard that already covered his neck. Stains were all over his body which was donned in a brown overall with white vest and two old and rusty goggles were fixed on his temple. His smile showed his dirty tooth which also had artificial ones in place.

"Arnos! It's so good to see you." Danny attempted to give his long old friend a passionate hug when he stretched his arms forward signaling for him to back off.

"You might want to calm down kid. A mechanic's job is no clean task."Danny who smiled in return kept his hand to himself, he felt stupid for trying knowing that Arnos wasn't a big huger. He tucked both hands in his pocket as he proceeded to listen to what his master had to say. He had been absent from the workshop for quite a while and was pretty sure Arnos already knew the reason for his absence.

The heavy metal slamming on each other made hearing difficult, and the chants and songs from the workers who were mostly hard working elves, they all cracked jokes with each other while working to their delight. They really made hardworking tasks look simple and joyful.

Danny didn't like the hard working part but was rather hear to discover the extent to which this universe's technology had grown and to understand the scope around it.

"Alright let's get moving." Arnos said before leading the way for Danny. They were now headed to the workshop; he had told Danny to come over since he had something revolutionary he had to show to him. He didn't really take his word for it because every little invention he carried out successfully was always revolutionary. His pity for the middle-aged man was another thing; he could work every night and day and come up with some crazy form of breakthrough in magic-tech but would either get his inventions revoked by the higher table or the minister of technology stealing every single detail of his invention and accrediting everything to himself. Only a few civilians knew of this but everyone at sky city knew everything about it. But either way, no one could mention a single word about it.

-Pshinn… Pshinn-

The sparks of blending irons were sent flying in the air the screeching sound of metals filled the atmosphere while the sound of hammers shaping metals accompanied it. The workshop was a really large place with several departments, each separated by towering metal pillars the workers never stopped for a second to rest or catch their breath. To them, this was a way of appeasing the god of metal and evolution. The muso herbs which amplified both strength and stamina kept them going without running out of breath at, this were really hard working men. Danny was at the ship and weaponry department which Argon had been specially assigned by the king to monitor his teachings.

The space was a really wide one and had little apprentice and workers unlike the other departments in the workshop. A huge ring was centered at the middle of the class with golden edges and a deep black interior which seemed to absorb any sort of light shining into it. At the top of the huge frame which served as some sort of gate the word 'class 3' was embedded on it with great purple and blue stripes designs.

Danny had chosen this department of mechanism simply because of the zeal to earn more about what age and type of technology this people worked with. And so far all he could deduce was the obvious which was the use both magic and technology and the people beliefs in hard work. Everyone he had encountered had a particular religion unlike earth where religions were generalized amongst a vast number of people. The people had different beliefs including believing in themselves; taking themselves as their God and savior. While the others believed in different other things such as Monarchs, kings, gods and goddesses and for some was the head of a family.

The difference between earth's form of worship and theirs was really different, they believed in the people they serve and never went against the rules which they were to follow. The workers at sky city for example worshiped the god of metal and evolution and they believe that the only way for the universe to evolve was through brute strength, hard work and sheer will.

"Well I thought you'll still be sobbing in your room since your merry friend hasn't been found yet." The sentence which was directed to Danny came from a familiar voice. Danny turned around and beheld Jund who was donned in a brown overall with white vest, and at his left upper chest, the words Jund was embroidered in yellow fabric and underneath was class 3.

Jund looked quite happy seeing Danny, he didn't really know the prince to be one interested in such type of things but ever since the transmigration the former Danny had being replaced with a humble and more curious type of person.

"Good to see you Jund."Danny said with a smile on his face.

"Well it's nice having a royal around." Jund held a spanner in his hand except it was a bit bigger and at the sides of it were two containers with blue liquid inside.

"Now that you two are here, I can show you a glimpse of the future." Argon said with his usual enthusiastic tone. He wasn't the only one who was like this, the other men around here who had formed their hearts into an iron which was hard to bent spoke in such manner.

Danny didn't have an idea about what awaits but he had also heard rumors of some generational technology being made by the engineers and the mechanics of the sky city.

Argon walked up to the ring which was suspended in the middle of the place before proceeding to stretch out his arms widening his palms and slowly advancing to the black hole. Within an instant, a blue message appeared from the black hole reading 'Voice ID required.'

"Argon the priest!" He pronounced slowly while looking forward into the black hole like he expected something to happen to which it did; the whole surrounding slowly faded giving room for another different environment, it was still as rowdy as his previous environment but it was out in the open with no roofing of such. The sky was dark gold and filled with dark clouds, the son seemed to have gone into hiding but the bright gold skies illuminated the activities of the workers. Danny's mouth widened and unable to close them, what he saw in front of him made it difficult for him to keep them shut. A huge aircraft with the same resemblance to an airplane the outside was made out of heavy metal which made Danny wonder how such aircraft made of such heavy metal would be able to fly freely in the air. Several missile cannons were fixed beneath it and at the wings were large rotating guns.

"This is the next invention that would become a great leap into the future. The new future of the sky and a step from the usual old sky ships… A literal war machine made with the combination of magic and iron technology. Made by the thousand hearts of brave men and forged out of pure intellect nothing could ever go wrong at all with this. Several centuries of hard work had led to this baby boy…"

"…We had to destroy and rebuild this big boy, search and research to the ends of the universe. This is a real statement of war…"

'Statement of war…' Danny repeated to himself. This would serve as no good to the others if this type of technology became public to the other people from different kingdom.

"…its weapons capable of destroying several sky ships in a single blow. With this, no pirates or outlaws would stand against us."

"What if the pirates get a hold of such type of technology?" Jund asked placing his spanner into his left pocket.

"I am a priest of the church of engineering; I knew what we had to pass through before getting our hands on such tech. The pirates wouldn't be able to produce this type of best not even from the help of the richest men in the entire kingdom."

This statement was directed to the fact that the engineering priest had knowledge about different things of the universe that no ordinary civilian would know. But what if the priest had an impostor amongst them, what if there was someone with that type of knowledge. These questions started filling Danny's head that in a moment's notice his brain could fry.

'Danny stop thinking like this…Even if they had access to this type of knowledge, it would probably take decades to make.'

But what if they already had knowledge about how to make it quicker and more effective than this model, after all evolution was key in this type of game.

"This really is a glimpse of what's to come"
