Shinanigans

The night of the 8th moon, this was just some sort of rumor, but to those who had lived for over thousands of years, it was no myth at all, the night were all convergence is reversed, this last for three days and three nights and also one of the rarest occurrences ever. And a reversed convergence meant that the convergence never happened, which meant that many things which included the optisiar, all the powers of the monarchs, were at their most weak and vulnerable. These were the nights where there was a possibility a new monarch would be made or the previous one would be killed and taken over. Everyone wanted their own fair taste of monarchy since it brought in some perks which would be explained later. There are six signs which one could use to tell that the convergence was soon to come…

"The moon set on the opposite side'

'The gates of heavens and hell are closed meaning no afterlife'

'The church of the ten commandments commits a grave sin'

'The 'vortex' becomes more corrupted'

'The exponential increase in birth rate

'The possession of a primordial object (Optisiar)'

Vincent held back Gary's hand as he attempted to pick out yet another book which he knew nothing about. He had just been picking out books and putting them back in their places like he was looking for one in particular and the actual truth was that he had no idea of what he was looking at. The books weren't spell books but rather books that gave instructions, rules guiding it usage and the tire of magic, basically the boring stuff which Gary wasn't into. His favorite suite wasn't sitting down with a book and start reading the guidelines about them when he could actually swing into action and do what had to be done. Giving his academic record in his past life; he only excelled in literature and physical education, but other than that, his stats were below average. Maybe due to the time he spent watching anime and reading web comics, or the fact that he was obsessively dumb. Gary and Vincent are both nerds, but the difference between the two is that one is sort of a 'cool-type nerd' while the other was what fit to be called a 'loser'.

"Calm your jets, it's not like I'm destroying anything by searching for the books." Gary replied before turning to the books and preparing to rummage through them once again.

Vincent had a brother exactly like Gary; in fact that was his twin brother Gazan. He and Gazan never really got along with each other and always had arguments all the time about the most stupid things one could think of. Not until the twin came of age and the long existing family twin sibling curse struck them. Basically any twin given birth to under the Vincent household has to split away from each other once they become mature enough, and once they get to the age of 22, one had to take the life of another in a death battle since the two of them couldn't simply co-exist. The thought of having to fight his brother to death still scares him till this day. Even though he wasn't really close to him like all twin siblings would be close to each other but Gazan was family and anybody with human feelings wouldn't just want to kill off his brother. That's why he needed to get stronger; naturally he would be the one who would be killed among the two, but Gary's arrival had even the odds and he still had time to get stronger and be able to hold his own in the battle

"Gary stop this rubbish and let's get out of here…"

"Oh you two just got here didn't you?" A voice peculiar to that of a young adult called from behind. Gary and Vincent turned back simultaneously. And behold an average height youth probably in his early twenties with average facial features and had a blonde Mohawk hairstyle. His dressing was a bit rowdy like from the punk rock ages of England.

"Hi my name's Micah." He said with an ear-to-ear smile, stretching his hands out for a shake. Vincent didn't know how to react to this since he didn't see any human in sight and the first thing he did was gaze at the lad from head to toe and as soon as he realized how disrespectful that was, he cleared his throat before gripping the hand firmly while also returning an awkward smile, Micah noticed the behavior of Vincent to be quite disturbing and so did Gary who immediately swooped in to exchange pleasantries with him.

"Oh sorry don't mind my dorky twin brother, the name's Gary." Micah smiled noticing this before giving Gary a firm and cool handshake which seemed much better and effortless unlike Vincent's.

"Twin… you sure do look alike, I was almost certain you guys were clones."Micah said raising an eyebrow.

"Well we get that a lot."

"So… want to see something cool?" Micah's expression showed both mischief and excitement, Gary just stared into space thinking whether he should accept a fun ride from a total stranger or not when Micah spoke up again.

"Or… maybe you aren't up to that. Sorry for bothering…"

"Wait you're not bothering anyone, we were just thinking the same, I mean as long as it doesn't involves reading…" Gary knocked off Vincent's disapproval and just said it anyways. He had only had to fight and fight and not really had time for the fun he deserved, the optisiar just came into his life to show him a lot of hardship which Gary wasn't use to in his previous life as a normal teen. He wouldn't say that he didn't enjoy staying here but also he wouldn't want to slowly turn into prime Vincent.

'What the fuck are you thinking Gary?' Vincent pinched Gary's skin to which the later cried out softly.

'Chill the fuck out, it's not like he could do us any harm.' Gary retaliated also while staring at Micah with an awkward smile on his face.

"Alright then, let's go check out some restricted areas."

"Restricted?" Gary was taken aback by what he said.

"Relax; these Librarians aren't bodyguards they barely know what's going on around them. We can't get into any trouble."

The light rays from the sun illuminated half of the room which was very large and had such illustrious designs that anyone would immediately fall in love at the first sight of it. Danny sat at the balcony on a red cushion chair with golden frames; there was a little square table which had a bottle of exquisite wine at the middle and a folded newspaper at the side. He stared down at the busy city of the upper capital. The upper capital was where all the royals of the kingdom and royal servant resided at, the rest were divided between the capital which belonged to the nobles and knights and the urban capital which was home to common dwellers of the kingdom. From where he sat, he could see the entire view of the upper capital; it was a true beauty to behold. From the tall buildings to the sky ship floating about in the air and the lovely abundance of mana in the environment, he really felt more at ease than back when he was on earth. He had only been exposed to crime along with Gary and it wasn't like the world ever gave him a choice or a chance to be anything other than a criminal. They were criminals but not really the ones who harm or anything of such, theirs was for a specific target audience. The job of exchanging different things dark and illegal online ranging from hard drugs, lost artifacts and lost paintings of the old. The means to which they got such object; through a vast network of dark web which was operated by mafia spear-headed by his granddad.

That way he got a nice home and gave his parents the better life that they wished for, and he didn't have to be totally atoned to the darker side of life, maintaining a great life as a teenager attending school and living his best life with his best friend.

Danny was now at the sky city looking for a certain person; a place where all the sky ships used for imports and exports of goods were stored and where one could also get repairs of their damaged ships, where sky ships were repaired and sold; basically all operations regarding the entirety of sky ships.

The place was really large and had a dome like object enveloping its entirety; it had a vast amount of space and located in the sky, finding the space to build such huge facilities that it possessed was no stress on the land acquirement side. But on the mechanical side of things, it was a complex task which took several generations to make.

Families to family and generations to generation, people all over the kingdom dedicated their lives to these sorts of things and it had been a great pride for the whole of planet Dirvan.

"You looking for someone?"A voice called from behind.
