The Order of Merlin was founded in the mid-11th century by the famous medieval wizard Merlin. It was the first organization in the magical world and is highly regarded. Merlin wanted wizards to help Muggles, so he created the Order of Merlin.
The Organization of the Order of Merlin was created to help Muggles, which stipulates that wizards forbid the use of magic against them, and that each wizard in the order is responsible for the protection of the Muggles around them.
In the late 13th century, as a result of social unrest, most wizards were persecuted by Muggles, and Merlin's order was suspended. Merlin himself was a victim of persecution, and this eventually led to the dissolution of the organization. Later, with the establishment of the Ministries of Magic and the International Statute of Secrecy for Wizards of 1689, all wizards went underground, and the Order of Merlin began to operate again.
All the most reputable wizards had joined the order and had awarded medals to wizards who have made outstanding contributions to harmonious coexistence with Muggles.
After centuries of development, the Order of Merlin had become the largest wizarding organization in the world of magic, and the only wizarding group in the entire magical world that is not within the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Magic, and is also recognized by the Ministry of Magic as an elite international wizarding organization.
In the magical world, there is no greater honor for a wizard than to be rewarded with the Order of Merlin. Three different classes of the Order of Merlin were awarded: First Class, Second Class and Third Class. Dumbledore is the winner of the First Class medal, and Gilderoy Lockhart had won the Third Class medal, enough to become the celebrity for which he boasted.
Ivan had never thought he would have the opportunity to win the Order of Merlin, Second Class, which was definitely unexpected for him.
For a young wizard like him, born into Muggle culture and only twelve years old, it was a miracle.
If Malfoy knew about it, he would die of envy.
"We don't want the Order of Merlin!" Fudge hadn't finished his words, and he heard Harry say excitedly, "Minister, Sirius and Professor Lupin are innocent, they..."
"Black's case should be decided after the Wizengamot trial. From the current situation, it shouldn't be a problem." Fudge turned to look at Harry and barely smiled. "As for Lupin, he's already been administered, all charges against him have been dropped, you'll see him in a moment."
"So he'll stay and continue teaching?" asked Harry quickly.
"I'm sorry, Harry! Lupin has tendered his resignation to me. He said he could no longer take that risk, fearing that a similar incident would happen again." Dumbledore said calmly.
"What?!" Harry couldn't believe it. Professor Lupin resigned.
Dumbledore looked at Harry and turned and said to Fudge. "Cornelius, I'm thinking about those Dementors; can they be removed from the school?"
"Oh, yes, they have to go." Fudge absently ran his fingers through his hair, "They have no business here. I never thought they would try to kiss an innocent child, that's completely out of control! I'll be out in a moment and tell them to go back to Azkaban."
There was a sudden silence in the room and no one spoke.
Harry also wanted to ask Dumbledore about Professor Lupin, and he heard Barty Crouch say seriously, "Minister, Dumbledore, there should be nothing more to understand. We should return at once; I want to meet Peter Pettigrew and Sirius Black. If necessary, I recommend using Veritaserum."
"Veritaserum?" Fudge said in astonishment. "Are you out of your mind, Barty? That's illegal. You know..."
Fudge said a few more words, and the five people quickly left the infirmary.
From the expression on their faces, you could tell that the verdict of towards Black and the retrial of Peter Pettigrew were a disaster for the Ministry of Magic and the Wizengamot, and that they were hoping to get it all sorted out before Christmas.
After that, Ivan, Harry and Hermione talked about the things that happened earlier and last night, and Dumbledore was there. They didn't worry much about success in proving Black's innocence. However, Professor Lupin's resignation was quite disturbing.
"I can't believe it, Professor Lupin is quitting his job!" Harry said with concern. "We've gone to such lengths to prove he was innocent."
"If he's already quit, I don't think there's anything we can do..." said Hermione.
"Can't we do anything?" Ivan had something on his mind as he raised his head and continued, "I have an idea. After Professor Lupin quits his job, he won't be able to find a new one. No one will be willing to hire a werewolf, even if he is harmless. However, I can always invite him to take over the running of the 'Hogwarts Magic' newspaper.
Looking at Harry and Hermione's strange expression, Ivan thought more and more that this idea was feasible. Professor Lupin's werewolf identity was made public, and he was doomed to be unable to stay at Hogwarts to teach. But he could hire him for a different job than the original.
After more than a year of development, 'The Magic of Hogwarts' newspaper had been able to further increase its sales, expand its commercial reach, and be promoted outside the school.
Ivan didn't have to worry about news sources. Almost every ghost in the UK had a need for news to the paper, and they were proud to see their articles published. Much of the news they gave was from outside the school.
Ivan had long wanted to expand his business. The only problem was that he didn't have much energy.
Whether it was himself, Hermione, Fred, George, Harry or Ginny, all the managers of 'Hogwarts Magic' were students, and it was impossible for them to run off campus. House elves were not good at management, which limited the newspapers' audience to the school's young wizards.
Before this, even with a lot of outstanding news, Ivan had to cooperate with The Prophet newspaper.
If he hired other wizards to take over the off-campus publication and management of the paper, Ivan would not feel at ease. But Professor Lupin could solve this problem perfectly well.
Ivan was preparing to use the Black and Pettigrew news event as a development opportunity to open up to the off-campus market. He planned to rent a house in Diagon Alley as the newspaper's headquarters, and would gradually expand copy sales to become something akin to 'The Prophet'.
After the series of events he witnessed, Ivan had realized the importance of public opinion. It was absolutely essential to develop the Hogwarts Magical Newspaper.
Furthermore, he was also willing to discuss this with Sirius Black. If he was willing to come, it would be even better. But from some of Fudge's words, it seemed that he wanted Black to be an Auror.
Just as Ivan was about to write to Black, Professor Lupin returned to Hogwarts. He looked even more haggard, but mentally stable.
