Chapter 319: The Problem of Dealing with Slytherin

Whatever the monster was, there was no point in continuing to use magic to attack it.

The continuous attempts had made it clear to Ivan that it was only a ghost that was immune to his attacks, he could only distract it.

Only by finding its source could it be eradicated.

In his hand, the Slytherin locket emitted a dark green mist, which did not affect Ivan, but caused the beast's tentacles to twitch dramatically.

Its huge eyeballs looked as if they were about to pop out of their sockets, blood red and chaotic....

He glared fiercely at Ivan and seemed to want to tear him apart, but his current body could not touch him, and his whisper was blocked by the fog.

They were both at a stalemate. Ivan knew he had to hurry to find the monster's body. He didn't know how long the magic of the locket would last. If he couldn't defeat this monster before the magic expired, he had to plan ahead and quickly leave and take Malfoy away from there. He did not want to lose control of himself again.

However, Ivan was confident.

Since Salazar had defeated his, there should be some clues he left behind.

Aside from the murals, there was nothing in the empty square stone room. Ivan focused his attention on the surrounding walls and examined them one by one.

The strange murals were very abstract, but the meaning they wanted to convey was very clear.

On the bloody crimson altar, young Salazar Slytherin defeated the monster and, for some reason, did not destroy it.

Perhaps like Voldemort, whose Horcrux was not completely destroyed, the monster itself could not be eradicated; or perhaps because Salazar Slytherin himself believed this rare evil monster to be of great value to his research.

Whatever it was, he brought it back to Hogwarts.

At that time it was not a school of magic, but a castle left to him by his father.

In the woods outside the castle, Slytherin refurbished the ruins.

In the murals, it was clear that Slytherin, as a teenager, began studying the monster there. Images of all kinds of research were about to fill the entire stone wall. He used different kinds of magic, potions and other strange things on his body.

Ivan didn't know what the specific results of the research were.

Maybe they were collected before him, and the information would be left on the fragments of the altar carved with that quirky writing, but he had to wait until he returned to let Harry decipher the message.

To tell the truth, Ivan was vaguely tempted.

In his opinion, every magic carved into the rock wall was so fantastic that it was completely beyond the scope of his knowledge.

Unfortunately, there was no specific spell or content; he could only feel how powerful Slytherin magic was.

It was different from the black magic carved in "Secrets of the Darkest Art." This magic carved into the rock wall should be white magic after all.

The white magic created by Slytherin was lost magic that had not been passed down. It was exciting enough to think about.

If it could be deciphered, it would absolutely be a great discovery that would attract worldwide attention.

Ivan curbed his excitement and looked back. It could be seen that for a certain period of time, this monster was the main subject of all sorts of Slytherin magic experiments. In addition, he also studied its body structure.

In short, young Salazar tortured this monster long enough. He was like a real evil black wizard, but all the magic he created and used was White Magic, which was also consistent with the Slytherin character Ivan knew.

He didn't mind being tainted with darkness, because light existed within him, and that was enough.

In the last few murals, Salazar divided the monster into three parts: the brain, the eyes, and the body.

He seemed to have his own plan, leaving only his eyes here.

In front of the fainting Malfoy, was the last mural where Salazar placed the monster's huge eyes in the stone chamber and arranged the seal magic.

Needless to say, the seal magic he left behind had been completely destroyed by the Acromantulas.

In addition to this information, there were two things that caught Ivan's attention.

The first was Salazar's age on the murals. In the earlier murals, you could see that Slytherin was very young, just like the huge statue outside, and shouldn't be more than a few years older than Ivan.

But in the latest mural, Slytherin was much older.

The beard was clearly visible on his face, which meant that it might be the last time he came here before he left school.

It is well known that there was a growing disagreement between Slytherin and the other three founders over student recruitment.

After a fierce argument, he finally left the school.

Why did he come here before he left? what was his intention in taking parts of the monster?

The second thing that mattered to Ivan were the four corners around the rock wall, which represented four objects, namely Slytherin's locket, the ring, the wand, and the staff surrounded by two large green snakes from the bottom up.

Strange, why did Slytherin have to leave representations of these four objects on the wall?

Looking at the green mist around him, Ivan felt he had found some key information. If it wasn't for this locket, his current end would have been absolutely unimaginable.

He would have been driven mad by this monster that would have swallowed his soul in his sleep.

Since the Slytherin locket can have such a great effect, the other three things obviously should also have special uses.

The ring should be in the ruins of the Gaunt Hut, and Ivan didn't know exactly where it was.

The Slytherin wand was passed down from generation to generation among his other powerful descendants, the vampire clan, and should be hard to come by.

As for where the staff surrounded by snakes was, that also needed to be investigated.

He couldn't explain why, but Ivan had a feeling that the enormous problems Elaine's vampire family was facing might be related to this horrible unknown monster.

No one knew where Salazar went after he left Hogwarts. A powerful wizard like him couldn't spend the rest of his life in the dark.

However, none of the books on the history of magic had any details about it.

And the body and brain of the monster he took with him, where were they finally sealed? Now that its eyes had awakened and devoured the souls of other creatures to strengthen itself, the other two parts were probably in the same situation.

After all, it had been a long time. In over a thousand years, anything could happen.

Ivan sighed. On top of all this, he still needed the treasure key that Slytherin left for him to search for, and he still had no idea.

Compared to the other three decent Founders, dealing with Salazar Slytherin brought the most trouble.
