Chapter 320: The Shadow of Salazar Slytherin

What was discovered about the thousand-year-old mystery was just the tip of the iceberg, but things were getting more and more complicated.

Through these ancient murals, Ivan finally discovered what he was up against.

However, he found that the questions in his mind were not diminishing. In fact, he had even more questions.

In any case, Salazar Slytherin's last act was too suspicious. Ivan tried to recall his life story, but found that, in all the known historical facts, only his involvement in the establishment of Hogwarts was given in detail.

There were hardly any records of Slytherin's experiences as a teenager, and after he left Hogwarts, like the creature before him, he was a complete mystery.

Ivan looked at Slytherin's locket with a faint green light in his hand. In addition to being Voldemort's Horcrux, it also concealed more astonishing secrets.

In the darkness, Malfoy uttered a pained murmur, interrupting Ivan's thoughts. Turning his head, he saw Malfoy lying on the floor in agony, his pale face covered in small beads of sweat, and his terrible nightmares seemed to have reached their peak.

Ivan knew he had to hurry. With the help of the Slytherin locket, he was able to continue resisting the monster, but Malfoy was almost unable to bear it.

If this continued, his soul would be swallowed by the nightmare in his sleep.

Ivan raised his head and looked up at the monster above.

It was shaking its tentacles, with its large eyes fixed on him and the locket in its hand.

Its eyes were cold and emotionless, like those of a dead man.

Judging from the message left on the rock wall, the monster's ugly, huge body and continuously quivering purple tentacles were non-existent shadows.

Above him, only those giant blood-red eyes were real.

Since entering the stone chamber, Ivan had never looked at them.

Every time he did, he looked away in haste.

The disproportionately large eyes and the slender pupils above had their own eerie tightness, as if they could awaken fears hidden deep within the soul.

Ivan knew he could not afford to flinch. He had to force himself to look into the eyes, even with the green protection of the mist in front of him, he was left smoldering for a moment.

"Salazar Slytherin..." The whisper came intermittently.

One could sense from his tone that he had a boundless grudge towards Slytherin.

Even if a thousand years had passed, this grudge had not diminished at all.

"Lost lamb, you're fighting uselessly, you're resisting your fate strongly, as if you really could change everything, but don't you know that you're already straying..." the monster whispered.

"Lower your voice, you've said enough nonsense, and my fate will be in my hands." Ivan replied calmly, "I won't trust others, much less believe in a monster like you who only has his eyes left."

He waved his wand quickly, and a red light flew rapidly upward.

"NO!" The hideous monster let out a harsh scream that reached deep into his soul.

Ivan held his breath and stepped back. The wand in his hand did not stop, and spells were quickly recited, and curses were directed at the monster's eyes.

¡¡¡¡Bang, bang, bang, bang, bang!!!!

Under Ivan's attack, the monster's body was rapidly disintegrating.

The image became blurry, and the rough, crushed body finally disappeared. Above Ivan's head, only two huge white eyeballs were exposed, and a pile of rotting flesh mixed with red blood vessels and muscle fibers that were firmly attached to the ceiling.

In the large, disproportionate eyes, the red that Ivan had always seen occupied only a small portion, less than a tenth of the eyeball.

"Descendant of Slytherin, you must pay for what you have done!" The eyes looked closely at Ivan, and the unoriginated voice did not grow weaker, but grew louder and louder. "Since you do not want to surrender your soul obediently, I will devour it by force!"

His voice just stopped, and the surroundings began to tremble.

The ground trembled; cracks appeared in the rock walls. The murals they bore broke and peeled away, and a loud rumbling came from deep within the earth.

The thin pupils were torn, and the huge eyeballs were split in half.

Ivan stepped back and stared at the monster in disbelief.

Like the fiercest of monsters, it carried a terrifying aura. Two massive cracks formed in the center of the eyeballs, covered with long, sharp fangs. Inside was mucus, beyond which was endless darkness.

Ivan could hardly imagine what the monster was becoming.

This was just the power of the eyes. If his body were here, Ivan knew he would have no chance to defend himself. Such a powerful and evil monster had been defeated by Salazar Slytherin in his youth a thousand years ago, when he was at the height of his power....

The two eyeballs swung and fell off the ceiling wall.

They floated into the air and opened huge, bloody cracks, and flew towards Ivan.

Ivan stepped back quickly, not knowing what kind of magic to use to deal with them. The existence of this monster itself was beyond his comprehension and all common sense.

He waved his wand and cast a few spells, but they didn't work.

The ferocious monster was getting closer and closer to him. Just when Ivan thought it was all about to end, all his magic was suddenly sucked out and filled the locket in his hand.

The Slytherin locket slowly floated, and the emeralds embedded in it shone brightly.

Even the strange inscriptions around it glowed dark gold.

That seemed to be a sign. A white halo gradually emerged above the rock wall.

The closed stone door suddenly opened, and the statue of Slytherin in the corridor outside also glowed brightly.

The white plankton floating in the cave fell quickly, like a group of fish migrating in the deep blue sea. They spun quickly downward and surrounded the statue of Salazar.

The cluster of silver, green and gold light met where Ivan stood, merging with the green mist around the locket.

Finally, it converged and a humanoid figure appeared in front of Ivan.

It was a handsome young man of 15, dressed in a medieval-style wizard's robes, with black hair and a pure white wand in his hand.

"Salazar Slytherin..."

When Ivan recognized him, the monster in front of him also whispered the same thing.

It did not continue attacking Ivan, but turned around to glare resentfully at Salazar's image.
