Chapter 350: The Gryffindor Illusion

Harry took a long time to recover.

He told everyone what he saw in the illusion and what happened at his home in Godric Valley on the night of Voldemort's fall thirteen years ago.

The mood was solemn, and Ivan, Ron and Hermione comforted Harry.

Hermione's eyes were red, and even Sirius couldn't help wiping away tears when Harry spoke of his parents' death.

Finally, Sirius promised Harry that he would take him back to Godric Valley this summer to see his old home and his parents' graves.

This made Harry feel better and less sad. He kept asking Sirius about Godric's Hollow and his parents.

At Magorian's urging, Ivan made his way to the stone platform in front of the huge statue.

He didn't know what he would find in the illusion. Harry, Ron and Hermione failed their respective challenges, and all three challenges were completely different.

Ron faced the attack of the Acromantulas, testing his combat skills and courage; Hermione's test was intelligence, understanding and acceptance of the new magic; Harry's was the more vulnerable side of his heart, and the ability to calmly face death.

The powerful Gryffindor magic seemed to have a conscience of its own. He must have seen something of the minds of the three of them to arrange it this way.

Putting Ron and Hermione aside, Ivan knew that Harry had a fragment of Voldemort's Horcrux. To destroy that Horcrux, Harry had to die once.

So the last enemy to be destroyed was Death.

Gryffindor seemed to have done it as a hint that he used illusions to replay the situation and let Harry know the origin of everything and his ultimate fate.

But in his infinite grief, Harry only noticed what his parents looked like when they died.

Ivan took a deep breath and stepped onto the black stone platform, not knowing what he would encounter.

Perhaps it was the deepest fear in his soul, or an omen of the future.

A burst of brightness shimmered, and he stepped into the magic of the illusion.

Ivan looked around and seemed to have returned to Hogwarts like Hermione.

At that moment, he was standing in front of a huge stone door, which was the door to the Headmaster's office.

He knocked gently on the door, and the sound of a deep crash echoed through the space.

There seemed to be no one inside. Ivan hesitated and pushed the door inward.

Unlike the decor of Dumbledore's office, moonlight fell slowly from the upper window, shining on the silver armor beneath the curtain.

The room was quiet, and on the intricately patterned cyan marble floor, four long tables were set, dividing the entire room into four parts.

This was the office of the Four Founders at Hogwarts a thousand years ago. Everything was exactly the same as the last time Ivan had seen it. There were no changes.

The host seemed to have left in a hurry, and there wasn't even time to pack.

On the long table in front of Ivan, the Hufflepuff Gold Cup was filled with a chocolate-like drink, slowly steaming outward. Next to the long dark blue Ravenclaw table, there were many magical books and the time-turner that brought Ivan back to a millennium ago. Under the shadow of the moonlight was the long, dark, silver-green Slytherin table.

Ivan stepped forward and saw a dark golden Scepter lying silently on the left side of the table. The Scepter was oppressive, and two large green snakes encircled it from the bottom up. The snakes' eyes and mouths were all closed. Ivan had looked carefully at the murals he had seen on the walls of the subway ruins and there the eyes and mouths of the snakes were open.

He didn't know what was going on. Maybe it was some magic.

The scepter exuded strange magical fluctuations and enticed Ivan to walk on it. He could see the complex inscriptions carved in ancient languages.

He couldn't help but go further and wanted to study it carefully again.

"If I were you, I wouldn't touch that thing. It's not a wise move!" Just as Ivan's hands were about to touch the scepter, a deep, husky male voice sounded behind him with a hint of warning in his tone, and Ivan hurried back.

He saw a wizard with fiery red hair sitting behind the long golden Gryffindor table with a smile on his face. It was Godric Gryffindor himself.

"Long time no see, young man!" Gryffindor walked over and smiled at Ivan, "Your magic is much greater than the last time we met."

"You..." Ivan's eyes were wide and he didn't know what to say.

Although he knew he would meet Gryffindor in the illusion, Ivan was surprised when the latter appeared in front of him like this.

"Don't be so surprised. What you see now is just a part of my consciousness that I left behind, just like the magic that was instilled in the Sorting Hat." Gryffindor said cheerfully, "Originally, I could only talk to you through the Treasure Key. With this illusion magic, I can appear here with an illusion."

Ivan opened his mouth because he wanted to ask too many questions. For a moment, he didn't know where to start. He could only look at Gryffindor with surprise.

"If you want to ask about it," Gryffindor said casually, pointing to the huge scepter in front of Ivan, and explained, "It's called [The Right of Peace], and it's a Slytherin family heirloom. It is said to have been handed down by the ancient Greek gods. The ancient god threw his staff between two snakes that were biting it, and the two snakes reconciled. But, in fact, it was the product of the most advanced alchemy of the ancient sorcerers, with very powerful magic. In my opinion, it is not too much to call it a Divine artifact."

"What good is it?" asked Ivan subconsciously, calming down for a while.

"There are many uses, far beyond the world's imagination, but Salazar usually just uses it as an ordinary cane to keep from falling over." Gryffindor chuckled and said, "Years of magical research have put a lot of strain on his body. He's not as strong and tough as he looks from the outside."

He seemed quite happy to slander his best friend like that in front of Ivan.

"Well, boy, let's get back to the point!" After laughing for a long time, he continued. "Since you can come here, that means you should have found the Key to my Treasure in the Centaur colony."

"Yes, I saw your hints in the Chamber of Secrets." Ivan nodded and said, "And from my Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher, Sirius Black. We knew there was a magical object in the Centaur colony and we found it here."

"You're talking about that little guy. I've seen him over twenty years ago, the heir to the Black family. He's a Salazar favorite, a very strong and ancient pureblood family. In our time, the descendants of his family did not enter Hogwarts, but hired powerful wizards to homeschool their children." Gryffindor said with satisfaction, "Who would have thought that after a thousand years, I would not only go to Hogwarts, but also to Gryffindor House?"
