Chapter 397: The Silver Moon and the Black Cat

"Meow!" Ivan cried innocently again.

He never looked for trouble, but trouble kept coming to his door.

Just like tonight, in his imagination, he should have had a tour of the Beauxbatons campus, surrounded by beautiful girls to keep him company, not a fight in the Great Hall preventing him from returning to his room and forcing him to hide anywhere in his Animagus form.

"I'm going to deal with this problem!" Sirius said with a bitter smile. "I should have known things would end up like this. You can never have a time free of danger."

He ignored Ivan standing on the balcony; turned and walked towards the Great Hall.

Standing in the Golden Corridor, Ivan gazed for a moment out the window at the huge silver moon.

Since he couldn't go back to his room, he decided to wander around Beauxbatons.

Because everyone was solemn in the Great Hall, the actual Beauxbatons campus was exceptionally quiet, and even the portraits on either side of the corridor were nowhere to be found.

The decorative style of Beauxbatons was completely different from Hogwarts. Although it was not as atmospheric as Hogwarts Castle, it was not as cold and dark.

Gold and red curtains hung on the walls on both sides, and the floor was covered with thick, soft stalls.

Perhaps because of Nicolas Flamel, there were wonderful alchemical devices and decorations everywhere on the campus.

They were going round and round, and Ivan could feel the magic they contained, but he didn't know the use of these things.

But he could recognize that they were all gold.

Alchemy was indeed a promising career. Gold was as common as stones by the roadside to Flamel, who had the last Philosopher's Stone in the wizarding world.

While most magicians were still concerned with means of subsistence or expensive magical materials, these people were extravagant enough to use gold to make decorations or buildings.

Of course, the most precious part of the Philosopher's Stone was not to turn the stone into gold, but to make the Elixir of Life, to slow down aging, so that the user could live forever.

It may not be really impressive to hear or see similar descriptions in books, but to see them with one's own eyes, to see huge golden statues and to meet Nicolas Flamel himself, who lived for more than 600 years; only then can we really feel the miraculous shock brought by the Philosopher's Stone.

Ivan couldn't help but think that, if the Philosopher's Stone hanging around his neck could have this effect, he....

But it was just a thought. Gryffindor had already removed all the original uses of this Philosopher's Stone, and now there was only powerful magic left in it.

Because of the Voldemort Curse, Ivan was unable to use these magical powers.

Under the silver moonlight, he climbed the stairs.

The stairs at Beauxbatons did not move, so he did not worry about getting lost.

Ivan stopped to visit the Beauxbatons classrooms.

On the second floor, there was a large circular classroom, all made of pure white marble. The circular platform was like the center stage. The student seats were all suspended on the platform with prominent walls on either side.

Another classroom had steel chandeliers all over the ceiling. The latticework around the room was filled with skeletons of various magical creatures. There was a strange smell in the air. Ivan even found the skeleton of a unicorn in it.

The corridor on the left side of the staircase to the second floor was blocked by stone statues, and on the other side was the Beauxbatons Library. However, at that moment, the doors were locked and he could not enter at all.

Ivan could only stand at the outside window and look in. The interior was a square room, very large, and seemed to have expanded beyond the space given by the surrounding rooms.

Inside, smaller rooms were fitted out one by one.

Under the dark golden curtain was a huge bookshelf of chestnut and brown, filled with magical books.

In the center of the square room was a statue of pure gold, bearing the emblem of Beauxbatons school. Star-shaped water poured out of the ends of the two wands.

Ivan watched it for a while, and it was quiet inside.

He knew that, like Hogwarts, there were many precious magical books in the Beauxbatons district, many of which were rare and unique.

In fact, Ivan wanted to go in and take a look, and his desire to do so was very strong.

He could sense that there were probably three defensive magics and a warning spell on the front shelves. With his current level, he could figure it out completely.

But thinking about what Sirius had just told him, he resisted the urge to go in.

It was best that he not cause any more trouble tonight until the matter had been resolved.

Besides, the library was the most sacred place in a wizarding school.

It wasn't too good to enter without permission.

This was not the same as the books he had secretly taken from the Black family. At that time, Sirius had allowed him to take them freely, without scruple.

Ivan took the books secretly back then, only because he didn't want to be caught studying dark magic.

He shook his head and continued up the stairs.

The third floor was the school hospital. When Ivan went up, the hallway outside was already crowded with people, and injured students were continuously being carried to the other side of the stairs.

In addition to the painful howling, the rest of the Beauxbatons students were talking angrily about something, and Ivan heard most of them muttering his name.

He saw several older boys holding their wands and coming down in groups of three or five, as Sirius said, ready to seek revenge.

Although some teachers were trying to stop them, it didn't seem to work.

After the battle in the Great Hall, Ivan almost became public enemy number one at Beauxbatons.

He looked at it for a while and decided to leave the place first.

Ivan was going to wait until the school vacations tomorrow when no one would be around, otherwise these students who were desperately looking for him might find him.

When he was halfway up the stairs, he suddenly saw Fleur leading Gabrielle around the top corner.

Gabrielle's long blonde hair shone in the moonlight. Her eyes were red and she was wiping her tears with her right hand.

Ivan's body was stiff, and he hadn't expected to meet them in such a place.

There was nothing wrong with Fleur, but Gabrielle had seen him in his Animagus form in the afternoon.

She didn't recognize Ivan at the time, and simply thought he was a stray black cat.

Not only was she holding him in her arms and wandering around, waiting for his owners to show up, but she was giving him milk and even kissing him.

That was very bad, and Ivan's first reaction was to find a place to hide.

He secretly prayed that Gabrielle wouldn't find out.

But he was in the middle of the stairs, and there was no hiding place. It was hard not to be found by the girls.

Ivan moved silently two steps to the side, looking at the floor, trying to remain unnoticed.

The next second, he found himself being hugged.

With the girl's unique light scent, Ivan felt a burst of softness. He turned his head and discovered he was in Gabrielle's arms.
