Chapter-17

Ryths quietly read the news from SW, his face turning grave as he did so. Given the situation they were in, it's a miracle that the Bernett Group didn't try to murder him. Of course, this depends on whether the data they provide is accurate.

He turned and saw Ray.

"Those two who were captured by you guys, are they safe?" he asked before they discussed the proposal.

"Yes, they're okay and safe. We're not really that cruel, so don't worry. "

He sighed when he learned the two prisoners were safe. He only accepts half of the information, asking, "Let's assume the information were true, what proposal do you want to give us, and what reason?". But he needs to be aware of the Bernett Group's motivations for contacting them.

"I want you guys to work with us. I don't know what the situation was in other countries, but I believe that less than 10% of the people in our nation were still humans. I hope you will work with us, if only for the sake of the people of our nation. "

"We only have 20 werewolves, and the Bernett Group does not lack force. How can we possibly be of any assistance to you guys? "Ryths responds and finds it hard to believe the werewolves will be of any assistance in this kind of circumstance.

"It is very easy. We are short on manpower, and the last few humans will become Cravers if they don't evolve. However, I believe that the best answer to that is you guys." When Ryth responded with a daze, Ray grinned.

Of course, they can't let them turn everyone into werewolves; he will only allow it as a last resort.

Ryths pondered the situation for a moment before asking, "How can we trust you?"

"I don't have the time or any other means to guarantee you guys' safety, so I'm sorry. But because of what you guys did the previous night, we have a good reason to put an end to you all. With all sincerity, the Bernett Group is attempting to communicate with you." Ray laughed and said,

After hearing Ray's response, the underlings who work for Ryths become irate. That is a complete snub to them.

Unable to contain his rage, one of the boys charged Ray. Ryths was caught completely off guard because he wasn't paying attention to his family and had a lot on his mind.

Even though he doesn't transform into a werewolf, the boy moves quite quickly, and as he reaches for Ray's collar, his surroundings go completely dark.

"And keep your subordinates under control; don't think that just because you became werewolves, you guys were strong; the world is changing," Ray said softly after slamming the boy's head into the ground.

Of course, Ryths saw how Ray hit the boy in the head, but seeing and dodging are two entirely different things. Ray is being viewed with fear by the teenagers who are standing behind him. They fail to notice Ray's attack on the boy.

Ryths gave Ray's eyes a close inspection.

:Why don't you guys try to stop this virus outbreak if you guys were that strong? ".

"Time, we don't have enough time. "

Ryths asked Ray anxiously, "What will happen to us if we don't agree?".

"You will concur with us, though nothing specific." Ray said matter-of-factly, "Do you guys have anywhere to go? Of course, he will kill them all if they reject the proposal, but he chose to leave that out.

"I want to speak with Mr. Bennett; I don't want my family members to be required to perform any unjust or dirty jobs. Although we are no longer humans, we were once human. "

Ryths believe that the Bernett Group's proposal was not bad in and of itself, but who can tell what lies in a person's heart? If they don't need their assistance any longer, who can say what Bernett Group will do to them? He needs to make a deal with Mr. Bennett or obtain a promise, and he believes the head of the Bernett Group will honor it.

"Okay, are you all going to gather here?"

"Well, whether they come together or not, they will be under your supervision. Men, let's go." Ryths simply replied with a head shake.

Denzai peered down at the corner of the stairs on the ground floor of the Ba clan's home. The apartment was dimly lit by only the sunlight filtering through the windows because the elevator was broken.

Clan members' dead bodies, some of which had body parts missing, were found on the first floor. He can finally exhale after learning that neither his wife nor daughter were among the dead bodies. Even though it was cruel, he was glad that no one from his family had been hurt.

If he can't find them there, he only needs to look in the emergency room. Otherwise, he has no idea where to look. He hopes they can escape home without incident.

He beckoned Diwa to come along as he gingerly ascended the stairs. Apart from the occasional low growl coming from the upper floors, the entire apartment was eerily quiet.

They are approaching slowly.

Jeez, jeez. There was a loud sound as the sharp object scraped against the concrete.

If they want to get to the emergency room, they need to pass the stair.

Denzai gestures with his finger to the lips that they must avoid fighting or at the very least dispatch the monsters silently.

Diwa pulled out a dagger and extended it toward Denzai after determining what the latter intended to do.

As he grabbed the dagger, Denzai rubbed his perspiring hands along the hem of his pants.

He lets out a long, heavy sigh as he moves slowly in the direction of the scratching noise.

He turned at the corner of the stairs and went up to the second floor.

He perceived a four-legged, dog-sized creature in the dim light, but he is unable to identify it.

The creature absurdly turned around and stared at Denzai before he could take another step to approach it.

Not good, he decided. He threw the dagger at the creature's apparent forehead in his state of panic.

The creature tried to avoid the sudden throwing, which caught it off guard with a "Swooot" sound.

However, it's already too late. Within the 3 meters, the dagger travels faster and penetrates the creature's forehead with greater force.

Denzai whirled around and jumped off the stairs, diving into the ready-made hideout made of dead bodies. "Nyhwoo!" she exclaimed. Diwa crawled beneath the corpses with Denzai, controlling his breath as he did so.

They could hear the monsters' growling and running sounds coming from the upper floor.

Denzai attempts to deduce the numbers from the sound of the footsteps, but he is unsure.

He and Diwa had previously estimated the numbers, and they were too low. Perhaps the majority of the monsters are drawn out by the early gunfire.

He used his eyes to signal Diwa. They might be able to confront these monsters and destroy them.

The monsters' sound moved closer to the ground floor as they hid. About eight monsters of various sizes arrived on the ground floor in the dim sunlight and began looking for prey.

There and then.

" Pweee." Under the dead bodies, a low-pitched cry was heard. " Fuck" Diwa yelled.

By using surprise, he thrusts the blade into the nearby monster's nape, but before it penetrates the flesh, he encounters strong resistance from the impact.

" Growl. "The sudden disturbance woke up the other monsters, who immediately charged their prey.

Denzai sighed, if they had waited a little while longer, they could have launched an attack when there were fewer monsters around. But what's done is done. He emerged from the cover of the corpses and kicked the closest monster.

A pair of red eyes were observing the fighting sense from above the corner of the stairs. The owner of the eyes is slowly advancing toward the conflict as though they were filled with intelligence.

Denzai and Diwa handed theirs back to one another as they observed the monsters in the area. Even though they were skilled martial artists, facing 2 vs. 6 was difficult for them to defeat.

Denzai swore at his instructor, "Why the fuck, you fart!" for the inconvenience.

"I made an effort not to, but I think I might be a little excited by their arrival and it goes out without my permission." With a crying expression, Diwa answered.
