JUST A NIGHTMARE

Jessy looked at the two standing there, looking at her with a smug grin on their faces.

Behaving delicate as though she was afraid not knowing how strong they were, Jessy stood up slowly and eased away from them.

With a stroke of luck, she felt a piece of wood lying at her feet.

Jessy glides down slowly as though her knees have gone weak. She shifts the wood getting her foot on top then stands up slowly once again. When the rouges observed the person who was walking on the street close by he stood aside allowing him to go.

From the moment he was out of sight they rushed towards Jessy. Resting her left foot on the end of the wood and it raises to the pressure she induce., Suddenly she dips her hand and holds it firmly.

In the dark, the two didn't see when she grabbed it, they were unaware that she was on the alert and swung the wood due to their taunting and laughing thinking she was scared and fragile.

When the first one screams out Jessy moves swiftly hitting the other with a swift kick. Both were flats on their back. Seizing the opportunity she didn't hesitate for a second disabling them, but their screams could be heard.

Jessy knew the others must have heard their screaming and became alerted of her whereabouts.

Jessy hurried along the alley only to see a group of homeless people sleeping near a corner. In her mind she didn't want to bring attention to the authorities. Her identify must be concealed though matter how difficult the situation may be. At that moment Jessy noticed an old box with clothes she pulled a piece of clothes seeing it was a shirt, she hauled it over her quickly and hid her shoes as she sat quietly next to the box leaning against it as though she was asleep.

With her right hand still holding the piece of wood she removes the clip from her hair with the other and ruffles it up making it very messy and allowing it to fall all over her face.

She could hear the loud abusive words and foul language as she heard the hurried footsteps in her direction, "I planned to separate them but this might work even better."

As the steps got closer to the bottom of the alley it was still dark. I heard them shouting at the sleeping people as they kicked and ranted and raved still using abusive words and obscene language.

Jessy lays quietly ignoring them as they keep running as though they were out of their minds, looking for her.

With the loud alarm buzzing waking her up from her dilemma, Jessy jumped realizing she was having a nightmare seeing she was safe in the room.

Wiping the cold sweat from her forehead with the back of her hand, her mind went back to the night before. "I will avoid late evenings in this strange place, maybe this is God's way of warning me."

With that thought in mind, Jessy took her time to freshen up and went to church. She admired the beautiful pink flowered dress that fitted her so perfectly. It felt so soft and comfortable.

"Sir has perfect taste and the dresses he bought were all brand-name clothes. If only Papa could see me now, but I must prove to him that true love does exist or I will have to marry that big hunk of a fool Ruben who is waiting back home.'

Returning from Church, Jessy stopped at the supermarket once more to get some extra items to prepare the refreshments, then went home.

While fixing lunch Jessy mixes bread flour, season the fish, and makes some Chow-ming. She decides to make the refreshment and mixes a cake and pastry dough for two long current rolls.

Before going to sleep, she fixed the container with the slices of current rolls and her sandwiches for work.
