JESSY IGNORES THE OUTBURST

Jessy could hear the venom in Miss John's words, as she expressed her dissatisfaction, "You sit there and feel so, and when your job is gone then you will tell me, now excuse me I have work to do."

Unexpectedly the door was pushed open and the angry Miss John bolted out, her face was red with rage as she glared at me.

Stepping aside behind the door as she leaves for her desk, unaware that Miss John has seen her standing like a statue.

At that moment Jessy wonders if Miss John had seen her or suspected that she was standing outside the door and behaved in that unseemly manner to scare her off.

Smilingly Jessy ignores her outburst, knowing this minor and petty behaviour does not matters nor shake her, nor will it shift her focus at the present moment. "My only gold right now is to accumulate enough money to buy a ticket to return home."

Miss James regards her position and the responsibilities that were placed upon her shoulders as chief secretary. Sylvia knew Boss was depending on her, so she made an extra effort to ignore Miss John's tantrum.

'Boss trusted me and I must not let him down but instruct Miss Albert as Boss requested, who knows by I helping Miss Albert, it will be my way of returning the favour she did for me.'

She turns around to face Jessy who was still standing behind the door and said, "Miss Albert when you complete your work, you can come, and I will begin your training, and thanks for taking my calls during the meeting."

"No problem" Miss Albert respond then went and had her lunch in the staff room.

Jessy considers Miss James' approach to her, 'She seems nice so I will make an extra effort to learn, also I will do my best not to disappoint her also Brent.'

Tidying up the staff room after having her lunch. Jessy then rests all the utensils she wash to drain. She fills the jugs and rests them in the refrigerator. She then sweep and mopped before she went to Miss James' desk.

Every day in that week, Jessy spent one hour with Miss James, taking a crash course as a secretary.

The weekend came and Brent gave Jessy money for the refreshment, asking her to make arrangements with the bakery so he could either pay forth nightly or monthly.

Using the cash, Jessy bought enough ingredients to make all the items she plan to make for the entire week.

After she baked twice, she realized that she need to make extras, then she started to bake three times a week instead of every day, especially when there was meeting and sometimes there were emergency meetings so the extras she store away becomes handy.

When Miss John inform her that Brent needed her in his office, Jessy thought she had done something wrong but all he wanted to know is if she had spoken to the bakery and what arrangement she had made.

"Jessy, I am waiting?"
