THANKS

Unable to recall how long they stood there holding each other before he released her from his arms.

Jessy whispers, "I am sorry, and thanks for saving me again!"

Brent ensured that she was seated properly but her head was bent from embarrassment. To release some tension he then took out his wallet and opened it, slipping out a few hundred dollars note.

"Now this is yours, I don't want you spending it in the office, don't you value your labor?"

Jessy still felt her head spinning slightly from the fall and his closeness was not helping either. All that was on her mind was, 'Why is it every time I am so close to him I want to kiss him?'

Recalling his warning when he told her about the job and no kissing in the workplace, Jessy took a deep breath to calm her mind.

Avoiding his eyes she extended her hand to receive the cash without complaining knowing he was already angry from everything that had occurred in the staff room.

Jessy didn't want him to continue fussing but he held the cashback, having no choice she lifted her head and looked at his face. She immediately observed that around his eyes had dark circles and she could see he seemed very tired. 'How is it I didn't notice that before, was it that I was so afraid and didn't pay any attention?'

'Oh God has something happened yesterday after I left the office or did someone say something to agitate him, he looks so frustrated.'

Wanting desperately to soothe his heart, Jessy could not hold back her feelings for him any longer, he was hurting and she could not bear to see him in such a horrible state.

Jessy leans towards him resting her head on his chest, hoping her few words will soothe his heart and release the tension, "Thank you, Sir, you have been a tremendous blessing in my life."

Brent felt his shirt wet, becoming concerned and wanting to know why the tears. At that moment his anger slowly dissipated and concern infiltrated his heart.

Coming back to his senses, he thought to himself, 'Did I speak too harshly to her earlier when the others were here or was it when I scolded her when I entered the staff room? Oh God! If I continue in this manner before I draw her closer I will drive her away.'

His heart was saddened when he thought about how he scared her. Automatically his hand rests on top of her head as he gently strokes her head before hugging her. "I am sorry Jessy, I shouldn't have spoken to you in that manner when I entered the staff room."

"Sir please, there is nothing to say sorry about, I just wanted to hear your heartbeat, and I feel so safe with you, now if there's nothing else left for me to do in the office, I would like to leave."

Brent held her hand before she left asking, "Jessy, are you sad about something?"
