BRENT WAS PLEASED

In the board room, Miss James was informing Brent concerning the copies Jessy had given to her. Brent and the other Board Members seem more concerned when they observed the preparation on top of the table where two jugs of juice and a jug of cold water, were set aside. Also at each seat was a tea plate with a snack.

Senior Larson was curious, "Son, where is Miss Albert?"

Brent was pleased with his dad's line of questioning. It simply indicated that he cared for her and was even missing her. "Dad, she asked to be excused because she wasn't feeling well and went home, but don't worry she sent her report. If you will excuse me a minute, I want to read it before the meeting commences."

"Then give me one also before distributing it to the others." Placing one in his Dad's hand, he took one and then took his seat.

"When his Dad spoke he seemed displeased, "Son, this is not a progress report?"

"Just give me a minute Dad, let me read it through. When he did respond, "You are right Dad, but she had added a few things that could improve the working conditions which might resolve the disputes in the factory."

Brent cunningly looks at his Dad hoping to get a positive response."I agree but what does she know about buildings and construction."

Asking Miss James to distribute the report to each person then opens his briefcase responding as I spread out the sketch, 'Recalling the drawing she did the day we got married. "Dad, it might not seem as much but maybe this might help''

Looking at the sheet Junior spread out in front of him, "What's this Son?"

"Dad, the day you took her with you to the site, when she returns, this is the sketch she made."

"Look here," pointing out in the sketch, "The building for the home, this here is the training centre and adjourned, is to facilitate the children."

"What is this?"

"I don't know but when I showed Chase, he said she is brilliant, Dad she said this piece she draws the house in, is to accommodate the people after two months at a low rent to facilitate their income."

"Are you saying that the same people we are helping will be renting in the apartments?"

"Yes, Dad isn't that awesome, the cash we are investing into constructing the building will eventually pay off and we will continue to see how they are progressing. Dad after the meeting Chase and I will be visiting the property and we will be making whatever arrangements to start the project."

"Who is controlling this project?"  Florence asks becoming very concerned.

Brent considered her question for a minute then responded, "I am, Mom!"

Brent knew that his mom's stubbornness wouldn't allow him to have his way, and was not going to give in to her though matter what.

Hearing her asks, "Then answer me this Junior, why does Miss Albert keep adding her point of view?"

Brent Senior felt it was necessary to interrupt Florence and stated his opinion at that moment, "This is good Florence, see for yourself, she has bright ideas. Yes! Son, we will invest and in the long run, we will be able to offset the cost, I like it very much, she doesn't only have bright ideas but she is intelligent. To be able to sketch something like this off-hand, she must know something about building."

Seizing the opportunity before his mom intervenes and objects, "I thought so Dad, that's why I want her to work together with the contractors."

"Great, but what about the office, she is doing an excellent job here?" Senior Larson added.

Undestanding what was his concern, "There is no need to worry Dad, she will attend to the office in the morning period and visit the site after lunch. Also, I will instruct her to train someone to attend to the workers."

Florence was amazed to see the broad smile, especially when her husband said, "Sound good but when it has a board meeting she must be here to attend to the refreshments."

Happy for his dad's suggestion, "Okay, Dad, then that is settled."

Observing the frown on Lystra's face, after getting a response from the Senior Board Members giving their approval for the go-ahead.

The meeting continues until half twelve. Brent concluded the first part of the meeting with all the office Managers and secretaries. He only requested the shareholders to return after a 15-minute break.
