Kiera's POV
"You are not going to that school." My face snarled at me in the mirror as I went about my morning routine.
"I don't have a choice.” Mum wouldn’t even hear a word I said. Even when I played the Tru card, she waved it off and said she could handle it. Ever since she blew a gasket about her dad, she had been abrupt and curt when she spoke to me.
I had the irrational fear that she would call up Mr Prichett and sell him the house. The only good news was that I really was a half owner of the house. Mum had insisted that my name be added as part owner of the house, and I couldn’t be more grateful for that right now.
“I do not care if you have a choice or not. You will not go, and that is final.” Kyros thundered.
Something in me jerked with vicious elation at the growing anger in his voice.
I didn't want to go to school either, I’d much rather spend the day trying to find the mysterious Whitfield…. Wait a minute. “Kyros, do you know anyone named whitfield?”
