Kenneth Yorkimon

The ground was white with a thick blanket of snow. The sun was covered by clouds and the wind was cool. David and his group were bundled up. They walked the streets of Azalea Village and said hello to everyone that passed. It has been a couple of weeks since they visited Stoneridge. When the sun pierces through the clouds, the snow glimmers in its rays. Ash and Hazel were holding hands as they walked.

"It is so cold!" Ash cried

"Yeah, we should go to the tavern to warm up." David suggested

"I agree." Hazel said

Before entering the tavern, they could hear half the town inside. They entered the building and were welcomed by a wave of heat. They chose a seat near the fire and sat down. The waitress came over and they ordered food and drinks. David and his friends ate their meals and enjoyed each other's company. After eating they decided to stay and enjoy the fire and music of the tavern. David was scanning the crowd when he saw a familiar face.

"Hey, look over there." David said

"Oh, I remember him." Ash said

"His name started with a 'K' I think." Hazel said

In the corner of the tavern stood Kenneth Yorkimon. He was alone and it looked like he was looking for someone. Kenneth spotted the group and began to walk over. He reintroduced himself and sat down at their table.

"What a lively town." he said

"Yeah, it's a great community." David said

"I heard some tales and I was wondering if I could ask the people who were there." Kenneth said

"What tales?" David asked

"About a man named Levi Bruin and what happened to him." Kenneth said

David told Kenneth everything that he could remember off the top of his head. Kenneth stayed attentive until the very end. They exchanged tales for a while. Ash and Hazel excused themselves and left the tavern.

"So, you're the one behind all this mess with Levi." Kenneth said to David

"Well, yeah. Why do you care?" David asked

"You don't seem like the type." Kenneth said

"What makes you say that?" David asked

"Your eyes. They have a certain look about them." Kenneth answered

"I've always had these eyes." David said

"They are beautiful." Kenneth said

"Thank you. What is Dusk like?" David said

"Wonderful. It is like this village but on a much greater scale. The people are wonderful and King Jack is great." Kenneth replied

"What is your job?" David asked

"I'm a bounty hunter. Lavernius Bear has a huge price on his head and I'm trying to get as much information as possible." he said

"You don't know?" David asked

"Know what?" Kenneth asked

"He fled to Light." David said

"No way..." Kenneth said

"It's true. He went looking for the artifacts." David said

"Thank you, David, thank you." Kenneth said

"No problem." David said smiling

"If you ever come to Dusk, ask to see me. I'll treat you to dinner." he said, standing up.

"That would be great!" David said

They shook hands and Kenneth left the tavern. He turned to David and tipped his hat before leaving. After a few minutes, Ash and Hazel rejoined David at the table.

After a few hours, David and his group decided to leave the tavern and take a walk around town. They walked side by side and talked about everything that they could think of. They stopped walking when they reached the edge of the town square. The snow crunched softly when they walked on it. They stared out across the snowy landscape.

"This place is so beautiful." Hazel said

"Yes, it is." David agreed

"Do you think Levi will return here?" Ash asked

"I doubt it." David replied

"Why?" Ash asked

"It would be too dangerous for him to return." David said

"True. I can't believe we hung out with the most wanted criminal." Ash said

"We can't let him become a monster, he already was too powerful." David said

"Where did Kenneth go?" Hazel asked

"He's going after Lavernius. I told him that he was going to be at Light." David said

"What?!?" Hazel said surprised

"I was tempted to ask if I could go with him." David said

"Why didn't you?" Hazel asked

"Because he is leagues ahead of me. I wasn't able to do anything when we fought him." David said

They stood in silence. The snow fell gently from the clouded sky. The trees were white and blue with frost and icicles hung from branches. A gentle wind rustled through the trees and carried flakes of snow across the frozen earth.

Suddenly the bell began ringing. People were running around trying to get to the shelter. David, Ash and Hazel stood in the center of town. They heard a mighty roar. It echoed through the town and in their minds.

"A Titan! It's a Titan!" the guards screamed as they ran through the city streets. Fear took over their bodies and they stood still. The steps of the beast could be felt by thumps. In the distance, they saw him. A large silhouette with shining silver eyes was walking towards them. As it got closer, the golden number could be seen. Number One.
