The next day, everything went fine as usual, the same school routine was carried out. Classes went well and everyone was present, the teacher announced antecedently to her students, reasons why Yu Yan was going to be absent in school today and as expected, the whispering started.
"Guys, did you feel the heavy wind last night?" A boy whispered.
"Yu Yan's as frightened as a cat, she probably got scared and made up an excuse."
"Keep quiet, stop saying things you aren't actually sure of."
Their whispers were auricular to Yi Fan's sensitive ears and he closed his book as his brows knitted cryptically. Did the wind really have something to do with Yu Yan? He questioned himself, what's even more shocking is the fact he couldn't stop ruminating over her.
Zhang Fei leaned over with a worried look, he's actually come to like Yu Yan for her conviviality and couldn't help but worry about her. "Is Yu Yan actually alright?"
Yi Fan met his gaze but didn't utter a word, he certainly wasn't sure himself and he's going to find out what actually happened.
~
Yu Yan was escorting Ying Yue and Kang Joon down the peaceful road after they paid her a visit.
"You sure you're alright?" Ying Yue asked suspiciously while Yu Yan gave a
reassuring nod in response.
"I'm fine, I only felt dizzy and thought I'd rest for a while, nothing serious."
Kang Joon pulled her close instead, hugging her affectionately which eased her heart a bit, after she lost her dearest brother, Kang Joon has been a brotherly figure to her.
"You should go to the hospital if you don't feel well, I could take you there if you want."
Yu Yan smiled at his genuine words. "You two should not worry so much, I'm alright. In Fact I'll be in school tomorrow if you still don't believe me."
Ying Yue knew her friend too well, Yu Yan would never say her problems since she's too frightened to worry others but her expression held no hesitation so maybe she's probably telling the truth.
"Alright, but if you don't feel well later on, don't forget to call us." Ying Yue was always strict when it came to Yu Yan's health, Ying Yue took great care of her during their childhood till now and always scolded her when she misbehaves. Sometimes Yu Yan couldn't resist calling her mother due to her behavior atimes.
"Yes yes, this daughter of yours shall call you."
Ying Yue couldn't keep up with her strict face and a pretty smile curled her lips.
"Alright then, I'll call you tonight so we can talk okay?"
Wishing her friends goodbye, they finally left, Yu Yan made sure they were out of sight before heaving a sigh of relief. Any slight change of emotion and they would easily detect she was lying. After she woke up in the morning, the mark was still visible in her neck except it had stopped glowing. Her body felt like a pile of brick, so heavy it was nearly impossible to get up to her feet, almost like all her energy got drained. It took every little strength in her to get back into her bed, not wanting to cause some kind of suspicion from her father.
She had called Ying Yue later on informing her to notify the teacher she couldn't make it to school today which Ying Yue gratefully did.
It took a while before she could regain herself back but she still felt a little sting at the nape of her neck, fortunately, it didn't sting as much as it did last night.
Turning around to go back home, a hand suddenly grabbed hers, stopping her from leaving and swiftly pulling her back. She nearly screamed at the sudden action but a palm immediately covered her mouth, stopping her halfway and she locked eyes with a beautiful dark one. He wore his dark mask which covered his face partially as always.
"It's me." His addicting deep voice made her blink at him in surprise, it's her grumpy classmate, realizing she wasn't going to scream any longer, his fair palm slowly detached from her lips.
"Grumpy classmate?"
His eyes raked over her, she was dressed in a big blue polo which hid her features and a pink, short flay skirt underneath, leaving her fair thighs and sexy legs exposed. Her hair was down, flowing against her back and as always, she looked innocent and doe eyed, moreover she looked pretty.
"How are you feeling?" He apathetically asked, not willing to expose his concern. Meanwhile the startled Yu Yan was still wondering how he showed up here, she could swear he was nowhere around here so how come?
"How did you get here?" She asked immediately, her eyes still scrutinizing the area if there was a car parked anywhere that brought him but nothing was at sight.
"Stop searching, you won't find my car." He straightforwardly told her, making her avert her gaze immediately.
"Then how come you're here?"
"My car's parked down the road, I only came here for a walk and unfortunately I saw you."
She pouted in annoyance. "Hmph!! Go away then!" So heartless, she turned around to leave but he stopped her once more, he wasn't actually used to life like this, he's the one who gets stopped by girls but today, he's the one stopping a girl and not just any girl, a very annoying one.
"What happened to you?" He asked.
"I'm not telling, forget it."
"Neither can you walk out on me so if you plan to make this conversation short for the both of us, start talking."
"It's none of your business, why do you care??"
"I don't, I just can't let you die when you haven't paid me for the damages of my car."
She gaped at him in response, She didn't know why but that definitely hurt her feelings.
"So you're only concerned about the money I owe you?? You're heartless! Go away!"
Yi Fan could see the gloomy expression starting to cross her small face, something inside of him skipped a tiny beat and everytime it did that, he couldn't help but feel stunned by it. How does she keep doing that to him?!
Stopping her once more, he pulled her back but she ended up bumping into him, her hair swiftly moved to the other side of her neck, disclosing the uncovered part to Yi Fan's gaze. His eyes landed on the two red dots which were visible at the nape of her neck, his brows knitted incomprehensibly at the sight and slowly, his optics turned bloody red, gazing intently at the dot and for a moment, he was tempted to bite her. The impulse was so strong he could feel his fangs reacting to the mark on her neck.
No no it can't be! Could it?! Was she?!!!
Yu Yan on the other hand was dumb struck as she was pulled back, resting her hand on his chest making her big brown eyes grow even bigger, her heart raced at incredulous speed, realizing how close they both were and to her surprise, he wasn't moving either like he had suddenly gone stiff.
Not liking the sudden emotion bubbling inside of her, she forcefully pushed him away to free herself, leaving the shocked Yi Fan baffled.
"Stay away from me and keep your distance as well." She hesitated herself, unable to meet his gaze, she took to her heels and ran back home, not turning back once to even look at him.
Yi Fan on the other hand remained frozen.if she had met his gaze, he would have been exposed to her. But the red mark, that's what the whole last night outburst was for. Of course everyone in the whole world but she was the one to bear the mark??
No, he wasn't going to accept it.
